  1. The rudder seems unaffected by speed https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=198915&highlight=rudder Hope this gets looked at.
  2. Even when you remove the hardpoints the navigation lights remain....
  3. Instead of the 'is there an eclipse?' one we have.
  4. Happens with 'flat' shadows and with all aircraft.
  5. Same here. One minute they'll save OK but the next time you load a mission they're just being ignored. I edit my views in the snapviews.lua and it used to work 100% but lately it's a crapshoot as to whether the game chooses to read or ignore them. Very frustrating.
  6. This chap might be having the same trouble.... https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=3632990#post3632990
  7. Yes, for some reason the new GFX engine is treating red things as a bump map or something....
  8. This thread should give you a head start... https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=211227
  9. Central mode should require the cyclic go back to neutral before accepting new input. But in the Ka-50 the instant you hit the trim button the helicopter starts piling on whatever input is currently receiving. To test - ensure 'Central' mode is enabled in Ka-50 special options, start from ground or hover, pitch forward to increase speed, hit trim button at desired attitude - the aircraft immediately pitches even further forward. In comparison the Mi-8's trim is behaving as advertised. The Ka-50's 'central' trimmer mode seems to be an inadvertent copy of its 'default' option.
  10. +100
  11. The less MFDs the better.
  12. The ADF frequency dial just a bit faster turning.
  13. Seems to have worked, thanks!
  14. nVidia latest drivers, happens with water set to high or medium.
  15. The real Ka-50 HUD is nowhere near as slick as ours.... I realize this is an 80's video of a HUD rather than a direct feed but you can see the brightness is constantly variable and it seems to only update at something like 5 frames per second. Would ED consider re-working the HUD to be more realistically lo-fi? Would people want it?
  16. Just to second this - nVidia's FXAA is a bit of a secret weapon if you want great fps. In some aircraft it can make instrumentation a bit blurry but overall it's a great substitute for MSAA.
  17. Route mode can be engaged even when the PVI-800 isn't providing waypoint information; you just continue in a straight line. But when used like this the 'Route Mode' indicator lamp in the overhead-left panel does not light up - Bug or feature? In a similar vein, 'Altitude Hold' works just fine in Directors Mode but for some reason the indicator light on the panel extinguishes - Bug or feature? On the UV-26 it is written 99_-AUTOCONTR Seeing that you can't input a '9' as the first digit it makes little difference but what is/was this for? My guess is that flares would dispense automatically on being lased by an enemy (which would be very handy).
  18. I believe even if the radiator is fully closed it isn't actually closed - only that the flap is fully retracted for minimum drag. With the radiator 'closed' and at high throttle/RPM settings you can barrel along quite happily provided you keep the speed (and the airflow through the radiator) high. At lower speeds closing the radiator will cause all sorts of trouble. I do a lot of P-51 1v1 practice and the engine will usually withstand 15-20 minutes of rolling scissors at full power before conking out, but it's incredibly easy to go vertical, have the speed drop to zero, forget to reduce throttle, and then *bang* the engine's popped due to no air going through the radiator.
  19. You're not alone, I did exactly the same thing..... https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=197628 Just remember 'green-green' for cruising around.
  20. Here's a video showing the sudden light changes.... The light being reflected from the ground into the cockpit seems to be quantized hence the noticeable discrete steps in strength. Also there is a delay - even after you've crossed a coastline and are over the water the cockpit is still 'glowing' yellow from the field you just left behind. Lastly the effect is much too strong. On reflections in DCS I'll just repeat my view from the previous thread - Until we have the horsepower to model reflections properly we are stuck with painting textures on canopies. And as long as we are stuck with painting textures on canopies we need to dial them back to almost invisibility because otherwise any illusion you were attempting falls apart immediately. You can just about get away faking the reflections of objects very close to the canopy with something subtle like this..... But this.... Yikes. One solution would be adopting the technique used on the MiG-21. The canopy is textured with an amazingly subtle but effective 'dust' layer that catches the light beautifully but never looks fake. Of all the DCS modules it's the only one, in my opinion, that convinces me I'm looking through something at the outside world. I hope something like that can be adopted for future modules (and refitted to the older ones!).
  21. I'm tired of the incredibly drab traffic.
  22. A button that will automatically populate the channel list in the mission editor (and the channels in the aircraft) with airfield frequencies. For those aircraft with less available channels than extant airfields then it could populate itself with the closest airfields to the players' spawn point; perhaps only friendly or neutral airfields etc - he can edit them further as necessary. It saves having to hand edit them all when you need something quick/basic.
  23. I just tested - in the mission editor you need to input Nellis's frequency (327) into the channel list. Then it's just battery on, radio to T&R, channel to whatever you put Nellis in and away you go.
  24. Just to +1 this....flying around in the Mi-8 the fps was great fun until I got closer to land and my fps tanked badly.
