  1. +1 You can be holding a steady turn but if you pull just 0.1% further back on the stick the aircraft's nose pitches up violently as if you've crossed a threshold where controller inputs are amplified. It's like flicking a switch. Fun to fly - but if it's realistic I wonder what the designers were smoking :)
  2. Aye. You can probably dogfight using the trim control it's so quick.
  3. This is right after take off. Try it - input some aileron trim then try and trim it out. You'll be there all day :)
  4. It doesn't work - the lights turn green but it doesn't fully center the trim; the plane still rolls.
  5. I defy anyone to trim a roll back to center. Either the trim controls are too coarse or whoever signed off on this at the factory needs shooting.
  6. Yes, cleared them all and re-did them - it's still super-sensitive.
  7. 'P' works fine here (it just saved my life). The trouble I'm having with landing is that the pitch sensitivity is so extreme that if I dare bunt the nose after touch-down the nose-wheel slams into the tarmac and the aircraft rebounds back into the air and at that point I'm a passenger.
  8. I think the main 'problem' (and it's not specific to the Mig-29) is that the light from the terrain is penetrating the cockpit floor and illuminating everything that would ordinarily be in shadow - e.g. the canopy framing and the HUD padding are glowing with yellow light from the fields beneath.
  9. I think the trick is not to come in too shallow. For example in the Mig-21 if you set the throttle to 'LAND' it quickly becomes obvious that you only have enough power for a controlled 'parachute' to the runway so your glide-slope is relatively steep.
  10. Where is this? I can't find it.
  11. My bad....turns out everthing's normal :music_whistling:
  12. +100 Case in point....:)
  13. Not sure why. Pitch Roll Yaw
  14. Using 'Transition to Level Flight' (RALT-7) the autopilot gets the shakes. It starts at around 550kph and gets worse the faster you go.
  15. Couple of questions. Is there any in-cockpit indication of whether the stick limiter override is on or off? The default throttle axis travels from 80-100% in about an inch of controller movement, then does nothing for ages, then engages the afterburner at around 70% travel. Is this normal? It seems very constricted. I never had the previous FC3 Mig-29 so this might be just how it is. I've adjusted the throttle axis with a curve but I'd prefer not to.
  16. I got this error trying to install the Mig under the current stable release. I updated to the open-beta and it went through OK.
  17. Now I'm sat in the cockpit the only thing that looks weird to me is the HUD assembly - it's too light; it sort of looks like it's been transplanted from a different game. Maybe it's correct but it does look a bit odd. But the rest is fine.
  18. Oh I'm already in the air, thanks! :pilotfly:
  19. While you're here 9, any idea when the standalone Mig-29 will be released?
  20. It's hard to tell from a static picture but maybe they're using 'flatter' textures so that the new lighting can work its magic? Under the new renderer the current Su-27/33 cockpits look like cartoons because of all the fake shading applied to the dials and contours.
  21. Any info when it will be available at the shop?
  22. No, I mean separate module to purchase - not just FC3 PFM update.
  23. Is there no Mig-29 module today?
  24. I've never used the prepare mission option, I've no idea what that is.
