  1. Possibly but nothing to worry about. If you have updated from 1.2.6 to 1.2.7 just run the repair to restore original files. Start > All Programs > Eagle Dynamics > DCS World > Repair DCS World The updater just didn't run the hash checker and only updated the files needed, which some might say is a better way of doing it because it keeps your modded files. So again nothing serious.
  2. Thanks Coff you the man! Will try this now. Edit: It works! :gun_smilie:
  3. Anyone successful in using the files from V1.2.7 V3 open beta to bypass the 2GB update for V1.2.6?
  4. Not really. You should keep the Openbeta installed on your PC and up to date (in this case download the Update 3 for the beta) as there will be future Beta tests.
  5. No problem bud, if I had the final 1.2.7 installed I could give you a better answer then what I did :) @Javelina1 Np
  6. The performance in the 1.2.7 V2 beta was normal as always besides an odd mouse bug that was fixed rather quickly. Can't see how the official 1.2.7 can be any different performance wise. @Javelina In the bin folder DCS_updater.exe
  7. Will my 2.6 copy the update from my local 2.7 beta? Edit: Damn it doesn't. Oh the humanity!
  8. What's with the Open Beta updater wanting to download a 247mb update for?
  9. I noticed this too with the beta updates. Running the Repair will restore the correct files and overwrite the modded ones.
  10. Thanks for this it was getting really irritating on the campaign.
  11. I'd actually be interested to know what new effects and capabilities we can expect from EDGE in DCS. It's the only aspect Matt hasn't spoken about. We've seen new clouds but other than that not much else on the particle effects side of things. Explosions, smoke, flares, dust, contrails, snow, rain, and heat blur all need updating. Maybe we'll hear more when it's finally integrated into the sim?
  12. Yeah the Huey is pretty much done. All that's left is the engine aging system and the cargo sling.
  13. Was trying now as well and got nothing.
  14. Until ED are ready to release actual in-game screenshots along with a confirmation the debate and criticizing will continue, and I can see how some people feel let down with the current screenshots. They put their hopes up too high and are expecting the holy grail of simulator graphics engines. When I watch those Corsica EDGE videos from the Mi-8 simulator I know what the engine is capable of, even if it's been run on an incredibly powerful computer. People just need to have a little faith, but at the same time not expect too much.
  15. Not sure if I'll be doing this one of Misty. Last time I saw MST she didn't have the stars or teeth and was fully stripped down for full maintenance. Will do all the other South African Huey's, at like a later stage. Oh and isn't "Special - http://www.airliners.net/photo/Bell-UH-1H-Huey/1196466/L/&sid=7b5d56b954f98110cce403f61638fa31" already in the sim? US DOS I think it's called...
  16. Man this makes me want the Black Hawk, Kiowa, and Apache soooooo much. I know the Kiowa won't happen but how confidential would the AH-64A be? Equally as confidensh as the AH-1W/Z? It's just a shame because DCS really needs a modern US attack helo.
  17. Well I've made 4 of the Huey's currently owned by private fire fighting companies here in South Africa. Worth a look I guess if you looking for civvy skins. I'm going to get around to fixing the red on Misty and Lucy when I get time but otherwise they as close as possible to the IRL ones I could get without pulling my hair out. Luckily Lucy, Misty, and Lima are stationed at my local airport so I'm able to get some nice pics. Next I'll be skinning the Huey owned by Sport Helicopters in Cape Town. It's the Huey in this and was used in Generation Kill. Edit: And that reminds me. I'll try to get some in-flight go pro footage from within the cockpit some time this year if my brother actually bought one. :D The only changes 2.7 brought was new pilot textures so you just have to change 2 lines in the description.lua. Line 20 {"pilot_UH1", 0, "pilot_UH1.bmp", true}; to {"pilot_UH1_01", 0, "pilot_UH1_01.bmp", true}; {"pilot_UH1_02", 0, "pilot_UH1_02.bmp", true};
  18. Is there any update on the 3ds Max 2013 compatibility?
  19. I have to ask but is this the first mention of DCS in the PC pilot mag? Because if it is then that's really sad, as it seems to be very FSX orientated.
  20. Not sure why it's acting like that, it's just a simple bands switch. Aft for throttle decrease and forward for increase. When returned to center position it should hold the set throttle, just like the Thunderbolts airbrake. Edit: But anyway the questions been answered. There's tons of ways to have throttle set up on HOTAS devices. :)
  21. No clue was just guessing, I got the X52. If the TM Warthog airbrake switch acts like the switch in the real Hog then it should work just fine for throttle control.
  22. HOTAS throttle for collective, slider for throttle. Would be the same with the TM Warthog, expect for a slider you would use the airbrake axis for throttle.
  23. I know how you feel Akula. I was a regular poster over at EAUK forums before and after BF3 released, and it was utterly disgusting to see the direction DICE decided to take and it shocked every dedicated fan of the franchise on the forums. I'm confident ED will never let it happen to them so I don't think worry too much about it. Also BF2 forever!
  24. I'm incredibly jealous right now. Hope I'll be able to make one in a few decades!
