Wait the P-51D just uses the basic trim tab system on it's control surfaces though is that correct? Not balance tabs, anti balance tabs, or servo tabs?
Also would I be correct in saying that the A-10C uses servo tabs (directly linked to the control system) in MRFCS for it's aileron control and balance tabs (moving in the opposite direction of the control movement to reduce the force required to move the elevator) in the elevator?
I'm getting a bit confused lately as I'm getting ready to do my PPL and am studying the Principles of Flight study material. It lists Fixed Tabs, Trim Tabs, Balance Tabs, Anti-balance Tabs, and Servo Tabs as the current tabs in use today, and I've been trying to figure out what proper tab systems the A-10C and P-51 use. Usually they all just given the identity of 'trim tab' in the manual and on diagrams so to get more info on what systems my two favorite aircraft actually use would be awesome.
