[REPORTED]Water Flickering (NOT screen flickering)
LithiumR replied to bandit648's topic in General Bugs
I get this in VR also but only with water set to high. If I set water to medium it seems to stop. -
I don't mind the EA model as long as everything still gets finished. I've had a blast with the EA F18. The only really frustrating part with it was the lack of IFF in the beginning (because I mostly fly MP). I especially look forward to splashing some red F16's when they finally hit the mp servers :D (and of course actually flying it). I definitely support the EA model.
-
Like others... I fly both but sp is mostly test bed / practice for multiplayer. Without mp I doubt I would fly nearly as much. The past year seems to have brought in a much larger mp base and that is awesome to me. And I prefer the large public pvp servers. I like ground pounding and it’s both challenging and fun to sneak around / engage real people. They are much more difficult and dynamic than so could ever be. But.... both sides are important. There is no right or wrong way to fly DCS ;) To each their own.

I posted this in the Polychop forums but after some digging it seems to be a problem with DCS core. ED, can you please fix the seeker tone for the Gazelle? And the RWR sounds if that is on DCS core also. Would love to have seeker tone back. Thanks and have a great day!

[Fixed]Would love to have seeker tone back.
LithiumR replied to LithiumR's topic in Bugs and Problems
Dear ED, Please give Polychop what they need to fix seeker tone and RWR. Thanks, A loyal customer -
I really like this module... I’d really love to have the seeker tone back on the mistral version and rwr symbology fixed. That’s all. Have a great day!

Just don't be shy about getting in comms. Most servers have a discord channel... use it. People will walk you through all kinds of things. Plus... it's fun flying a strike package in with other people on comms in PVP or PVE. One last note.... make sure your iff is on and try not to launch fox 3's (Aim 120's, Aim 54's, ect.) into furballs or areas w/ friendlies. Use Aim 7's if friendlies are around (because you can break lock with those if you find you accidentally fired on a friend). Mostly have fun!! If you want some PVP Growling Sidewinder is pretty good. You won't get kicked from the server for friendly fire but it will kick you to spectators. You can just join right back in though. Just double check iff every time ;)

Ikd why but I owned nearly every DCS Module but this one. I just never thought the Harrier would be all that fun... boy was I wrong. I'm having a blast with this thing. I was running around in MP doing some ground pounding with the A-10C but it's soooooo slow so I decided to give the Harrier a try.... This thing is badass! Thanks Razbam for making this one!!

Please... do tell how?

I have the odyssey and it seems this is the same problem we had. I cannot help but conclude that it is a problem with dcs itself (if not dcs then why do no other games have this issue?). I have wondered if it’s a problem with convergence, ipd, fov, and how dcs handles their relationship... but I have no idea really. Even the tool provided for odyssey users doesn’t really fix it... just makes it tolerable. But overlays are still out of focus (or more likely dcs is out of focus and overlays are correct). Anyway... if I set the tool to have the cockpit in focus far away objects are still a strain... which makes me think that there is a problem with convergence. Idk what the problem is but obviously there is a solution because other games don’t have this problem.

feature request: allow mouse-scrolling on instrument+console light wheels
LithiumR replied to D4n's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
+1 -
It runs around 4.5Ghz when playing dcs. Idk if it supposed to run that high but it does. I’ve not overclocked it. No cooling problems either but the fans are loud!! But I removed the headphones from my odyssey and use my own anyway so I don’t hear them :) I’d love to build another rig instead of a laptop but I live on a sailboat and a tower would just take up too much room. I’m pretty happy with my setup though... and I can carry it anywhere in a backpack.
-
I have an asus rog G701 that runs at 45 FPS at 1.4 PD with an OG odyssey. Got it refurbished on amazon for about 2k US. Should be cheaper now... it’s been a while since I bought it. Specs in sig :D Edit: That’s with MSAA x2

Head / Cockpit shake level adjustment option
LithiumR replied to Hummingbird's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
I fly exclusively in VR and I like the shake :D If this we’re ever implemented I would ask Heatblur to make it controllable server side for multiplayer please. -
We have 2 pc's and 2 VR setups here :)
-
Same here. It's way better but still seems a little off.... I think. I also wonder if FOV has anything to do with it. Rift is at 90 right? Odyssey at 110 but DCS says 80. But then it seems like everyone would have the problem. Anyway, this tool helps a lot.
-
This!! I don't know how it would work for training but I would love to give friends a joyride! I would set up a mission getting chased by a 109 and laugh my ass off as they sat in the back seat in VR " He's on our six! He's on our six!! He's firing!! Ahhh!! We're going dowwwwwwwwwwn!" What a great way that would be to introduce friends to dcs and VR ha ha ha!
-
Agree with this.
-
I tired that also.... It's hard to tell. When I start a mission it's default so my eyes adjust to that. Then when I change it my eyes have to re-adjust and I can't tell. I've resorted to pausing the game after an adjustment and focusing on my keyboard.. then putting the hmd back on with my eyes adjusted to real life to see if there is any strain. Letting my eyes rest a bit then I'll try again. Really glad this is being worked on. Me right now... ha ha
-
Left or right symmetrical seems to help. Maybe a little better on left but I can't tell. Still seems like something is off. I can't tell if it's just my eyes though. It seems like if I get it super clear up close then things far away are "crosseyed" but if I get things far away right then close things become "crosseyed" but at this point I'm not sure if it's just my eyes. Going to give them a break. As others mentioned the sliders are kind of hard to get just right. Thank you so much for helping with this!!! Thank you thank you thank you!!
-
Myself and my son have the crosseyed problem with our odyssey's also. Kinda drove me away from DCS. Hope they get it fixed soon. 2019-01-19 06:15:38.521 INFO VISUALIZER: OpenVR Projection///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// 2019-01-19 06:15:38.521 INFO VISUALIZER: OpenVR Projection Bounds Eye 0: 1.22781,1.04714,1.42159,1.41197 2019-01-19 06:15:38.521 INFO VISUALIZER: OpenVR GetProjectionMatrix(0,150000,0.02) result: 0.87914,0.00000,-0.07942,0.00000 0.5f,0.00000,0.70582,-0.00340 0.5f,0.00000,0.00000,0.00000 0.5f,0.00000,0.02000,0.00000 2019-01-19 06:15:38.521 INFO VISUALIZER: OpenVR Projection Converted to DCS: 0.87914,0.00000,0.00000,0.00000 0.5f,0.00000,0.70582,0.00000 0.5f,0.00000,0.07942,-0.00340 0.5f,-0.00000,1.00000,0.00000 2019-01-19 06:15:38.521 INFO VISUALIZER: OpenVR ed::makePerspectiveForHMDProjection result : 0.87914,0.00000,0.00000,0.00000 0.5f,0.00000,0.70582,0.00000 0.5f,0.00000,0.07942,-0.00340 0.5f,-0.00000,1.00000,0.00000 2019-01-19 06:15:38.521 INFO VISUALIZER: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2019-01-19 06:15:38.521 INFO VISUALIZER: OpenVR Projection Bounds Eye 1: 1.04088,1.24809,1.42268,1.43269 2019-01-19 06:15:38.521 INFO VISUALIZER: OpenVR GetProjectionMatrix(1,150000,0.02) result: 0.87376,0.00000,0.09053,0.00000 0.5f,0.00000,0.70043,0.00351 0.5f,0.00000,0.00000,0.00000 0.5f,0.00000,0.02000,0.00000 2019-01-19 06:15:38.521 INFO VISUALIZER: OpenVR Projection Converted to DCS: 0.87376,0.00000,0.00000,0.00000 0.5f,0.00000,0.70043,0.00000 0.5f,0.00000,-0.09053,0.00351 0.5f,-0.00000,1.00000,0.00000 2019-01-19 06:15:38.521 INFO VISUALIZER: OpenVR ed::makePerspectiveForHMDProjection result : 0.87376,0.00000,0.00000,0.00000 0.5f,0.00000,0.70043,0.00000 0.5f,0.00000,-0.09053,0.00351 0.5f,-0.00000,1.00000,0.00000 2019-01-19 06:15:38.521 INFO VISUALIZER: /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// 2019-01-19 06:15:38.522 WARNING EDCORE: Source ./Mods/aircraft/FA-18C/Cockpit/Scripts/../Shape is already mounted to the same mount /models/. 2019-01-19 06:15:40.399 INFO COCKPITBASE: lua state still active MACROS, 55 (status undefined) 2019-01-19 06:15:40.399 INFO COCKPITBASE: lua state still active HMD, 62 (status undefined) 2019-01-19 06:15:40.402 INFO WORLDGENERAL: loaded from mission Scripts/World/birds.lua 2019-01-19 06:15:40.405 INFO DCS: dbox not found , skip 2019-01-19 06:15:40.611 INFO Lua: Lua CPU usage: metric: average mission execution: 75.5501 % 2019-01-19 06:15:40.615 INFO TACVIEW.DLL: Recording flight data in [C:\Users\dalla\Documents\Tacview\Tacview-20190119-001541-DCS-f18 practice guns.zip.acmi] 2019-01-19 06:15:40.618 INFO EDTERRAINGRAPHICS41: surface5 gc() LOD 0 73 squares 2019-01-19 06:15:40.620 INFO EDTERRAINGRAPHICS41: surface5 gc() LOD 1 73 squares 2019-01-19 06:15:40.620 INFO EDTERRAINGRAPHICS41: surface5 gc() 4.772325 ms 2019-01-19 06:15:43.759 INFO VISUALIZER: OpenVR Projection///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// 2019-01-19 06:15:43.759 INFO VISUALIZER: OpenVR Projection Bounds Eye 0: 1.22781,1.04714,1.42159,1.41197 2019-01-19 06:15:43.759 INFO VISUALIZER: OpenVR GetProjectionMatrix(0,150000,0.02) result: 0.87914,0.00000,-0.07942,0.00000 0.5f,0.00000,0.70582,-0.00340 0.5f,0.00000,0.00000,0.00000 0.5f,0.00000,0.02000,0.00000 2019-01-19 06:15:43.759 INFO VISUALIZER: OpenVR Projection Converted to DCS: 0.87914,0.00000,0.00000,0.00000 0.5f,0.00000,0.70582,0.00000 0.5f,0.00000,0.07942,-0.00340 0.5f,-0.00000,1.00000,0.00000 2019-01-19 06:15:43.759 INFO VISUALIZER: OpenVR ed::makePerspectiveForHMDProjection result : 0.87914,0.00000,0.00000,0.00000 0.5f,0.00000,0.70582,0.00000 0.5f,0.00000,0.07942,-0.00340 0.5f,-0.00000,1.00000,0.00000 2019-01-19 06:15:43.759 INFO VISUALIZER: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2019-01-19 06:15:43.759 INFO VISUALIZER: OpenVR Projection Bounds Eye 1: 1.04088,1.24809,1.42268,1.43269 2019-01-19 06:15:43.759 INFO VISUALIZER: OpenVR GetProjectionMatrix(1,150000,0.02) result: 0.87376,0.00000,0.09053,0.00000 0.5f,0.00000,0.70043,0.00351 0.5f,0.00000,0.00000,0.00000 0.5f,0.00000,0.02000,0.00000 2019-01-19 06:15:43.759 INFO VISUALIZER: OpenVR Projection Converted to DCS: 0.87376,0.00000,0.00000,0.00000 0.5f,0.00000,0.70043,0.00000 0.5f,0.00000,-0.09053,0.00351 0.5f,-0.00000,1.00000,0.00000 2019-01-19 06:15:43.759 INFO VISUALIZER: OpenVR ed::makePerspectiveForHMDProjection result : 0.87376,0.00000,0.00000,0.00000 0.5f,0.00000,0.70043,0.00000 0.5f,0.00000,-0.09053,0.00351 0.5f,-0.00000,1.00000,0.00000 2019-01-19 06:15:43.759 INFO VISUALIZER: /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// 2019-01-19 06:15:46.625 WARNING DXGUI: Invalid blur type! Yes.

Hmmm... P-51 does that also if you have rain in the weather.

Same here. Big pauses when anyone ejects or has damage. I'd rather just wait the longer loading time and load all that stuff up at the start.
