  1. I'm trying to implement on my mission something like: On the spitfire's radio you have 4 channel buttons A, B, C and D. Now i would like to open ATC menu by pressing let's say the D channel button on my radio. Is this possible using X:Cockpit in set rule for triggers? If not how can i do it? If yes what should i do? It's all of the morning long, i'm trying to find a solution but sadly no clue Thanks in advance
  2. Talking about my own experience on the HTC VIVE, spotting ground targets is hard in VR, but for an example if i fly a WW2 AC it's not that hard after the last update, because i suppose that ED changed something about scaling the models and i can also run DCS with HIGH presets in Graphic options with SS set to 1.4, i have ste SS to 1.4 because if you set it higher than that everything becomes very bright since tha las 2 updates. I'm talking about HTC VIVE don't know what happens with Rift. Additional Infos on topic: Since when i own VR i really can't fly/combat in DCS on a traditional monitor anymore
  3. Yeah but.... why?
  4. I'm strictly convinced that upon release of Normandy 44 map we'll have a large number of screenshots about stuff related to that awesome map
  6. OMG NOOORMANDYYYY!!!! :pilotfly::shocking::worthy: Please oh yes please take my moneys That trailer is simply glorious
  8. These are my own tests, as Los wrote above, if you turn Pixel Density over 1.4 in HTC VIVE everything looks toooooooooo bright, and after some minutes my eyes are starting "bleeding" tears, good thing is finally we can change Pixel Density for the VIVE from game options menu, but everything looks very bright and it's too much blurry, expecially in the distance while this doesn't happen if i manually set Pixel density to 2.5 in the Steamvr config file by setting "renderTargetMultiplier": 2.5 as i usually did before(now the Vive supports asynchronous reprojection which is what oculus calls ATW). I set ingame options pixel density to 1.0 and "renderTargetMultiplier": 2.5 in the Steamvr config file, but the overall image quality is not as good as before when the only one option for the Vive to set the pixel density were strictly related to the Steamvr config file.
  9. I totally agree with you i did the same i have bought all modules with paypal and i own all of them except spitfire preorder and as i can see around the forums most of us non CC owners are Europeans EDIT: I only own a prepaid credit card and i do not intend to own or subscribe any other kind of card this is from ED shop troubleshooting: So this actually means no more DCS modules for me in the near future until something will be done about this i can say: Huge Trouble
  10. Same problem here can't buy without PayPal.... so what now?
  11. You don't need DCS installed on Steam, you just need SteamVR application installed on Steam and then you can play your SA DCS installation, I've never had DCS installed on Steam also because i'm not very Steam friendly
  12. I own the vive now and an upgraded version of the HDK, i've upgraded the 1.4 with the 2.0 upgrade kit and it looks basically the same as the vive except for the FOV, vive has more of it, at least it gives that impression, BTW i may suggest the HDK2 if you don't mind about having something that isn't very user friendly but even not complicated, as i wrote previously it is much more difficult learning to fly the A10C RGB monitor confirmed Better tracking confirmed thanks to the new improved firmware PROS: 399$ 499€ 499£ Personally i prefeir the VIVE because of better FOV and tracking system which is a lot better also compared to trackIR 5
  13. can't wait to give ED my moneys.... as per usual lol XD
  15. And please do something for those that are behind a carrier grade NAT, (which is a kind of "the last fashion" for ISPs nowadays), something like some other games on steam do, that allow you to host a match and play it in COOP even if you're behind a carrier grade NAT, also considering that Hamachi and Evolve are not working with DCS
  16. @dot The answer is always ""It should be better"" but if you don't try it yourself well you don't know. I'm always carefull talking about VR technology, because after reading here and there and talking to various people that tryed or own a VR HMD, my conclusion is: that it is a strictly personal experience, so i usually talking about my own experience, not everyone sees the SDE for an example, like just another person, some people find it gamebreaking and some other people find it something barely visible, same goes for the pixelation. Also to buy or not to buy a VR HMD question i would buy it, because after i've tryed it for the first time i can't imagine in the future, when the technology will offer an image as good good as a common 1080p PC monitor, another way to play Videogames and Sim Games
  17. Hello everyone Well talking about VR HMDs it's not the same as talking about monitors, i mean: HMDs are not just about screens, the main thing is screen+optics, looks simple ain't it? but: screens are not just about resolution but also pixelation, sub pixelations, RGB levels, persistence and technology (oled, amoled, super amoled, RGB,pentile, exc.). Optcis..... heh here comes the VR image main factor..... filters applied on lenses, lenses focal point, lenses area on the screen, shape of the lenses, quality of the cristal, internal design of the lenses, lenses refraction quotient, and FOV on the screen, it's more complicated than just talking about screen resolution or pentile or RGB, the main factor about VR HMDs actual price is up to screen yes but also for optics, they're not just a magnifier or a weird kind of mini spyglass. and no one never talks about optics but just about screens. the main problem, with flight sims, where you need to keep in sight also the distance, is the pixelation and the overall low quality of the image, compared to a standard 1080p PC monitor. RGB screens will not be the saviours. I can't read the HUDs due to the pixelation and because i can't zoom on HUDs while on Gauges i can making them readable. 3D is good very good and it's not an issue with readable text the only problem is pixelation. @wormeaten Glad to have been helpful Well 4K monitor is definitely a thing made for breathtaking graphics while VR is made for having an experience, VR is cool very cool but it's still a primitive technology and you definitely can't buy it, if your aims are: high detailed image views. For a free flight i'm always flying wearing my VR HMD but for combat well no i don't. I still have my TrackIR5 camera upon my monitor, it's just up to you choosing between VR HMD and 4K monitor With VR you really don't know what you get, for sure you'll never get an image quality compared to that one of your monitor. With 4k Monitor, you know what you get.
  18. dunno if it's better or not they're using their own technology to hide SDE which is a kind of film filter, it works but SDE is still there not as bad as DK2 and yes it is using RGB display. I'm very busy these days at work but when i'll have some spare time i'll try to make lens view screenshots with my smartphone but can't promise nothing ATM sorry
  19. Hello everyone, i'm an HDK 1.4 owner, and i can confirm that DCS is working with OSVR through SteamVR, everything that works with SteamVR works on OSVR smooth and flawlessy. Now back on DCS : OSVR HDK 1.4 works better than rift DK2, the SDE is very reduced compared to DK2, but the screen is a single 1080p with just 60 Hz instead of 90 and with my GTX 970 works very well in DCS 2.0 or 1.5.4 with everything set on Ultra settings, except view distance which is set default, there are sometimes framedrops and it's very noticeable in the HDK 1.4 and you really need to unwear the HMD to avoid motion sickness, i can see cockpits without any aliasing line, and if you zoom in you can read gauges exc. (HUD in modern aircrafts are totally unreadable), the pixelation is present and in some cases a kind of nightmare. View sight in the far, middle/far distance is bad, very bad, i mean if you're looking to spot an enemy Plane from far and middle/far distance then it's completely impossible indeed. The tracking system is very similar to the one seen on the oculus CV1 but it has a tracking panel also behind your head. Q: Can i suggest you to buy an OSVR ? A:OSVR is not really plug and play it's an Hacker development Kit after all, you should expect some tweaking, plugin, SDK, exc. Due to its open source nature there's a Reddit community behind it and being completely open source, there's a huge share about: files, plugins, how to, DIY exc. exc. and being totally open platform it's completely upgradable, works with most of the VR games and the fact that it has hardware expandable possibilities under my point of view enriches the usability. They're in parthnership with Nvidia, Intel, Steam, Crytek, Nod, Sensics (military grade VR HMDs producer), Ubisoft and many others for a total of more than 300 parthners If you're looking for something "Tweaky" but at total price included shipment of 349€ in Italy VS the 740€ for the Oculus Rift CV1 and considering the possibility to upgrade the hardware just like a Gamig PC... well it's up to you to buy or not to buy If you're looking for something Plug and Play, easy to use then definitely don't buy an OSVR. I enjoy DCS pretty much with my OSVR HDK 1.4 and it's not too hard to configure the 1st time only, it's more hard flying the A10C in DCS flawlessy if you have further questions i'll be glad to give you an answer
  20. Sorry but i really don't understand the thing with lua files, can you please provide a more accurate how to ?, this is the very 1st time for me using mods in DCS
  21. Starway fled in mexico with the moneys, this has just being said at the BBC
  22. Caucasus Map definitely needs an overhaul expecially since when the choppers are in, i would say the same quality we've seen on NTTR, but for free and under an official form and considering that DCS base platform is totally free including the SU-25 and the TF-51 it does include also the Caucasus map for free as a base platform for DCS for free, once you for free have downloaded the base platform then you can buy and pay whatever module you want ex.: planes, choppers, NTTR, Straight of Hormutz or even Normandy 44 once they'll be released, but DCS world SU-25, TF-51 and Caucasus map are coming absolutely for free and of course moving to next gen DCS i believe that Caucasus map definitely needs a large improvement to meet the near future DCS standards. Mods are a thing Development Studios are another one, volunteering is one thing, professional work is another and have i already told you that DCS base platform is free including Caucasus map, SU-25 and TF-51 ? BTW every modder is free to release their content including a donating by PayPal button on the mod release topic, just like it happens on some ArmA 3 mods, But: a donation is a special form of "thank you" to the modder, but i would do not such thing obligatory to download the mod, because in this case we're not speaking anymore about donating, but we're speaking about purchasing. Modding spirit is what some people do to enrich gaming communities and related games, do you really want to kill all of this? Finally i wrote this, 'cause i was afraid wirting this considering that this suggestion has been already posted by me but i have had my post deleted and -4 reputation points in a row. Despite what i wrote here, i wanna be sure that you know that i own NTTR since day1 and ALL of the DCS modules, many of them in preorder or at full price And no it's not a matter of moneys expecially for 9,99 or 15,00 bucks or whatever rgrds Simon
  23. It's not really a spoiler about AI bomber it was expected since the kickstarter days on DCS WWII: Europe 1944 project :D in the far far far january 2014
  24. Probably this is one of the reasons for the realease delay of this DLC and not just the DRM, there are lot of things in the work for future updates and DCS evolution that we're not allowed to know ATM
  25. yep..... i'm afraid we must wait another week or so.......
