Hello ED, how come that the runways in the Caucasus now switch on only after contacting the ATC? They used to be on all the time, as it is now in Nevada......

That's the rub... Reading the posts of this forum, one has the impression that almost everybody considers that deferred shading ON is better in ANY case. Well, have a look at the screenshots, in my opinion it is not always necessarily so. Cockpits generally look much better with deferred shading OFF, and so the external views of the planes, and also, with HDR, deferred shading OFF, the “blending” of the sun in front is much nicer, the cockpits get darker. With deferred shading ON, the cockpit stay almost the same without “blending” of the sun in front, as they would be illuminated by some “heavenly light”…. With deferred shading ON, some cockpits, like the one of the BF-109 and the MIG-21 present a wrong night lighting, making them unreadable at night. Overall all the cockpits look fairly fake with deferred shading ON. And where do we spend most of the time in DCS? Though, overall the terrains look much better with deferred shading ON. It would be nice to pick the good things of deferred shading ON and those OFF and combine them.....

Just wait for about 30 seconds, it shows lines and lines of code or whatever in that lack cmd window, and then eventually it will load..... And also, with HDR, no deferred shading, the blending of the sun is much better. The terrains of the Caucasus look much better with deferred shading, though not necessarily those of Nevada... It would be nice to pick the good things of deferred shading and those without and combine them.....

Same here. But I disabled / re-enabled the Harrier module and now it seems fine, though the Harrier module is the only one without the serial number. (see screenshot) Why? Razbam ? ED? -

Scusate ragazzi, dico anchîo la mia... Proprio così. Anche se il modello esterno del HAWK era bellino, il cockpit e tutto il resto nettamente inferiore allo standard del DCS, mi sembrava di essere ritornato a FS 2004! Ancora mi duole aver speso del denaro per il loro Hawk.

Hello Metzger, I completely agree with you! :thumbup: I am also eagerly waiting for the F-18 and all the other modules, but I would much rather see a DCS coming out of alpha with a functioning ATC on both Nevada and Normandy for all the planes, and not just for a couple of them, for example. :thumbup:

I had something similar... not related to video drivers. Each time the loading time takes more than 3 minutes, it's the stupid starforce copy protection thing. You don't see the window asking to activate, this or the other plane, BUT! if you hit ALt-Ctrl-Del or start the task manager, the window asking to activate appears then you hit yes yes, and everything is back to normal for a while, until all of the above happens again. Yet another BUG....

Indeed.... And of couse is logical that it will be payware.. Such a huge undertaking.. I can't wait for DCS to be unified! -
With deferred shading the sun does not blend nicely, (HDR), and everything looks "nor right"... So I switched it off, and without it the canopies turn even more inexistent, like air, they used to be better in older 2.0.xx versions....

Great stuff CH products. I use the Combatstick, (very similar to the fighterstick) Pro throttle (kinda Hotas) and the pedals. Happy with it.
