  1. Go to Start/User/Saved Games/DCS/Config and delete the VIEW file. Then fly a mission.
  2. Yes that is normal. If you look at the original dds files as they exist in the DCS folder you will see the same extensions on them.
  3. Re-installed to be sure but Photoshop CS2 still doesn't recognize a dds file so I cannot open in Photoshop. I can't check the "save as" function if I can't open it first. I'll just continue to use DXBMP for conversion. It's no big deal.
  4. Joyride, Would it be difficult for you to open OP Gridiron in the 1.2.7 ME just to see if the triggers for Viking are still set up as intended?
  5. I installed the plugin but can't open dds files with Photoshop.
  6. The only reason I use DXTBMP is to convert the dds files to BMP files. I use Photoshop for the actual work and then DXTBMP to convert them back to dds files.
  7. Although I am as impatient as anyone about future developments, what keeps me enthusiastic is the multiplayer aspect of DCS. When I am flying a well made coop mission with other experienced pilots I become engrossed in the mission and don't really think about the fact that it's the same ol' map any more. So....what has taken the shine off my apple are the update bugs that have broken many of the MP missions and have frustrated the talented mission designers that have created them, causing them to stop production. Good quality MP missions are the life blood of the MP community and I fear that by the time new product arrives and a revival occurs many of the members will have exited. There are many that have already become conspicuous by their absence.
  8. And touring the forums I've seen quite a few times now that people say you'll learn more quickly by joining a multiplayer server and play with others but, as the title says, I'm not quite sure I'm ready. IMO although people in multiplayer are usually quite helpful they may expect that you at least know the basics about the TAD, TGP and weapons.
  9. I am not seeing these settings in the view.lua file.
  10. I think I found what you are referring to HERE but I have never been able to get my gun to fire when using that snap view. What am I missing?
  11. Can you post a link to PeterP's instructions?
  12. I have been doing this a long time and can't think of a better way other than perhaps increasing my distance from the target area and reducing speed to give myself more time to scan with the TGP. I believe that in real life the tracers would indeed point more accurately to their source than what is modeled in this sim and if it were possible to accurately model this feature it would prove to be more effective for target location. Real A-10 pilots have admitted to flying low on purpose to draw enemy fire so the pilot could pinpoint their location. I'll be watching this thread for other suggestions and thanks for posting the question.
  13. :clap_2:
  14. If you want to change the name of the keystroke that appears in the control options menu you can do that by editing the keyboard lua file in the saved games config folder.
  15. The reason you don't have a view folder in your saved games folder is because you have never modified and saved one of the snap views. IMO there is no potential for the change you made to cause problems, however if you do a DCS Repair or install an update in the future the settings will be returned to default and you will need to repeat the process.
  16. It's the line right under [2]={ change the 49 to 79
  17. Change it there then. The worst that can happen is you change it back.
  18. Open TS window and click on Settings/Options/Hotkeys and in the drop down menu (lower right corner) select Keyboard and Mouse Only.
  19. For the A-10C go to Start/user name/saved games/DCS/Config/View/Snapviews.lua Using notepad++, find line 135 and change the value to 79. You can always go up or down a bit with that number until you get what you like. Illustration attached. Another way to do it is with Track IR. When you first get in the pit hit LWDWS+NUM1 and release. Then using Track IR, move to the side and get the exact view of the radios that you want using body motion and zoom. When you have it set, pause Track IR and hit RALT+NUM0 to save it. now when you hit RWDWS+1 it will be your new saved view.
  20. I use a GTX 650ti and it didn't offer any benefit for me in the release highlights so I never bothered to install them.
  21. The latest drivers were released on 03/10/2014. Move along folks....nothing to see here.:music_whistling:
  22. I only fly the A-10C. I have a feeling it's related to the slmod F10 (other) commands. Although I doubt if I can verify this it seems to have started after activating an in mission F10 (other) command that triggers ground vehicles to move.....but that's just a guess at this point. Maybe a few more will chime in with more useful info. Thanks for looking though.
