Your best 109 replays - Post them here!
otto replied to Charly_Owl's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
wZlguXL5JuE Most 109 kills without mw50 ,with idle throttle and combat flaps (Because controls get locked very easy when flying fast). I've practiced on seeing targets from great height for hours on end . It will not matter if i fly a k4 ar a G2 from 1942 when booming them from far above. -
Yes because it's not that Bud Anderson was fighting some noob in that fight that was recreated on TV. No he was fighting Erich Hartmann and because the p51 was better he won :D.

@deyv If you have the hardware power and a 4k monitor try 4k resolution tha. It helps a lot. I got a 4k with 3 scratches on surface for a low prince. Unfortunately no money for a new pc to actually run at 4k. The quality of my monitor might be still an advantage tho.

Since 1.5 version the problem of sighting other planes has been solved for me: This had been the most fun part of DCS since 1.5(EDGE) update: Trying to spot as far as i can. With 4k that i don't have the hardware power to use i can see much much better than this. But in real life i live not that far from a military airfield and can say that it's much more easy to spot planes than in any game. That's not ED's fault it's just technology is not that advanced yet.

Moderators should not be so defensive on this forum. I someone wants something to be improved it doesn't mean he has something personal with you or ed. So it's not polite to call someone a troll ;).

That's only your truth.I see the fw190A as far better than any p51 d,h,z. If you see it differently that's just your opinion. And you forgot to mention the me262. This is just my opinion of course .

That's actually a great idea. Would also be great if they found a way to implement the same way the 109 gunpods.

I don't like it either . I prever the way it was done in Il2 1946 (Close, medium, far where far is limited of corse). -

And i have no problem if that view is restricted to death.I defeated spitfires in il2 by the hundreds in IL2 1946 with a far worse rear vision practicly O in the g4 and g6 early. -First of all if this flight model doesn't calculate the MW50 tank weight.Than it's a problem -Second if the high speed implementation of forced infringes low speed stick accuracy that's another clear problem. - FYI i asked for climb level for 109 to be reduced, i spoke that taking the G suit out of the p51 is a poor choice in not very nice terms to ED. And i also said that spitfire should have 25 lbs fuel and P51 75 HG even 81 is no problem for me.So i'm not all "Oh the 109 should be the best mua ha ha ha " That "extremely" good view from the cockpit can be achieved easy with Trackir also.Watch WW2 Multiplayer Victorys Compilation by Apeoftheyear. The only reason i got this "Fantastic view" which by the way i don't like because i can't shoot properly when so far zoomed out is because i got so many buttons to push for head position that i accidentaly roll the zoom wheel on the mouse too far. That's the big secret :megalol:. Yu can put your trackir down and get this biiiig andvantage i got and if you get one kill i'll be amazed . -
Bf109 K-4 pre-stall buffeting...
otto replied to Anatoli-Kagari9's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
If i may .There are a few things i want to mention : First of all because of the way stick forces are implemented there is a delay between my input and the 109 stick in game. i can post a video but this is obvious. It's like playing a game with lag the lower the speed the lesser the lag but it's still there. If i set up a pitch curve for the 109 the lag gets worse. But if i use a curve for the 51's pitch there's no lag. Second if i fly with the 109 without ammo there is a difference in handling, turning .It's small but it's there and the weight displayed on the mission editor is modified by how much ammo you choose to load. Now if i choose an empty mw50 tank the weight does not change in mission editor. The plane also doesn't feel different with an empty mw50 tank. -

Does the weight change in mission editor when taking off the MW50 for you guys ? -

That's how it's implemented by ED.I have nothing against a more restrictive FOV.I've never sat in a 109 i don't know how it is. But the thing is i'm flying with my left or right hand on the stick(i can use both hands just as well),while i use the mouse to look around while i use the 8 way hat to move head position left, right up and down while i take the hand of the stick to use throttle while i use the hand to change flaps settings and the list goes on. That's also not realistic because it's much harder to do trust me than the classic Trackir Hotas. I forgot: i also use two buttons for head posstion front and back inside cockpit so that's hat swich + two buttons to move around head position and the mouse to rotate head position. -

DCS 1.5.2.49392 Update 2 release notes
otto replied to HornedGod's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
I had very specific flaps, trim and joystick, rudder curve settings. And with those setting i could do a spiral that i practiced almost every day. In this version either i black out easier than before or i stall easier . I think there has been some change. -
Pilot G-limit compared to the Bf 109 and Fw 190
otto replied to Dirkan's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
It's was a weird decision to take the G suit out of the game. But since the 1.5 major update i like it that the LW pilots black out harder than before because i know how hard i'm pulling. And the game is more immersive for me. In 1.2 version there must have been a bug because sometimes i could pull 9 g and over with the 109 and not black out at all. This didn't happened all the time. -
Bf109 K-4 pre-stall buffeting...
otto replied to Anatoli-Kagari9's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
Our sticks are too short and maybe our hands are too long or our fingers too thick . But with the same stick i can fly on the edge of the stall much more easily with the p51 and pull a tighter turn when all scientific evidence points to the contrary: laminar airfoil , no slats, weight vs hp . I don't think anything will change but i can't say it's all fine when it's not. -

DCS: Me 262 Discussion (Development on hold currently)
otto replied to NineLine's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
I don't know if this was solved very late in the war or not.But you couldn't push the throttle brutally forward because you would destroy the engine. Also the acceleration was very poor. You could fly very fast but you couldn't accelerate from low speed fast at all. -
People who have flown the 1O9 and the P51
otto replied to Zimmerdylan's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
In my humble opinion a level speed fix for the 109 should be released at the same time as the 150 octane Mustang is released. I'm not for game balance but a 30km/h faster 109 would really make things worse at the moment. Againg IMHO. -

People like you that sit on the side and pretend to be soooo sophisticated forget that questioning the devs FM sometimes leads to progress: -The correction of the 109 climb rate which was too high at 30m/s to 25m/s. -The attempt on my part and others to change the climb rate to 22m/s (this was proven by yo-yo to be incorrect) -The correction of the fw D9 that had too much horse power (2300 if i remember correctly) now it has 2100. -The effort on my part and others to implement a 75"hg P51 with 150 octane fuel. -The effort to speed the devs imprementation of more realistic weapons damage like leaking radiators leading to engine failure.Fuel tanks and Mw 50 tanks that actually burn. Oil that spills on the cockpit glass and so on. You know what's funnier .Thinking that using words like luftwhiners makes you better than us . -

otto replied to Zimmerdylan's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
Same aerofoil : the shape of a wing. Not same wing: The P51D model Mustang had a redesigned wing; alterations to the undercarriage up-locks and inner-door retracting mechanisms meant that there was an additional fillet added forward of each of the wheel bays, increasing the wing area and creating a distinctive "kink" at the wing root's leading edges. Most significant was a deepening of the wing to the allow the guns to be mounted upright, resulting in a slightly reduced maximum speed compared to P-51B/C variants. -

- Robert C.Curtis, American P-51 pilot: My flight chased 12 109s south of Vienna. They climbed and we followed, unable to close on them. At 38,000 feet I fired a long burst at one of them from at least a 1000 yards, and saw some strikes. It rolled over and dived and I followed but soon reached compressibility with severe buffeting of the tail and loss of elevator control. I slowed my plane and regained control, but the 109 got away. On two other occasions ME 109s got away from me because the P 51d could not stay with them in a high-speed dive. At 525-550 mph the plane would start to porpoise uncontrollably and had to be slowed to regain control. The P 51 was redlined at 505 mph, meaning that this speed should not be exceeded. But when chasing 109s or 190s in a dive from 25-26,000 it often was exceeded, if you wanted to keep up with those enemy planes. The P 51b, and c, could stay with those planes in a dive. The P 51d had a thicker wing and a bubble canopy which changed the airflow and brought on compressibility at lower speeds." - Thomas L. Hayes, Jr., American P-51 ace, 357th Fighter Group, 8 1/2 victories: Thomas L. Hayes, Jr. recalled diving after a fleeing Me-109G until both aircraft neared the sound barrier and their controls locked. Both pilots took measures to slow down, but to Hayes' astonishment, the Me-109 was the first to pull out of its dive. As he belatedly regained control of his Mustang, Hayes was grateful that the German pilot chose to quit while he was ahead and fly home instead of taking advantage of Hayes' momentary helplessness. Hayes also stated that while he saw several Fw-190s stall and even crash during dogfights, he never saw an Me-109 go out of control."
