  1. funny you think to know what I want and dont want. there will always be complainers, but some will appreciate that its alpha, and help with bug hunting. thx, i do understand what Ed testers are doing, and i am well aware of the difference between testing and gaming.thx again!
  2. as a tester thats easy to say i guess while testing the 109 and god knows what else, all in edge :) oh and yes, i stated several times in several threads that im just as grateful as you about the project continuing.i never backed luthier but ED for this project to come true. :)
  3. somehow, i am slightly disappointed when knowing exactly, that all the ED testers have already access to the upcoming warbirds(like the 109 maybe even already the spit) while they may or may not have backed the project 1year ago, while this was one big reason for me to back the project.to get early access, watch the developement and evolvement of planes, and also beeing able to help in spotting bugs, helping development somehow. i do not really understand EDs decision on this.i know normally they prefer to have only their testers to have access to "alpha"/beta products in developement, but this was one promise(i know by luthier) which made certainly not only me, but many other backers pledge to a certain amount, or maybe even influenced the decision on whether backing the project at all... giving the backers early access to planes wouldnt cost ED a penny, and if at all, could speed up the bug hunting.also, the backers would get the feeling of beeing appreciated and seeing the benefit of their decision 1year ago to back the project. right now, there doesnt seem to be much of a benefit. knowing that some testers already happily fly with a 109 while certainly not all of them have backed the project, and me sitting here watching screenshots and thinking "what if" is killing me. please ED reconsider your approach on this at least for the other upcoming planes.
  4. ^^yeah so far i only noticed it on the virtual aerobatics server....and on all other servers i fly, there are no mig21 slots, and never experienced the freeze there.
  5. noticed the same on some servers only though.
  6. well, i dont know what the default FOV is, but i use a constant FOV of 90°, and with that i can read it just fine.
  7. i think, once they fix the "box", which should be an easy task for them, then spotting aircraft or objects in general(note the box is also used for many if not all ground targets) should be way better....now i dont know whether the mig21 lod refers to that box at a certain distance, but even if not, the mig21 pilot will then still struggle to spot other planes as they are very likely using that box LOD model.
  8. quite interesting :), i actually noticed this instantly when first flying the 190 without zooming in.also i can read the flaps positions without a problem with 90°FOV.but i know i told a friend of mine who actually never noticed it was there.
  9. still doesnt solve the "box" bug, no matter the resolution.until this is solved you can't really claim spotting targets in dcs is realistic.

  12. well yeah, an AI B17 would be greatly appreciated, and i think it would add to the immersion and especially possibilties within mission building big time. even if its not perfect or too detailed. those pics you have seen are from a mod and not official. i think sithspawn is/was working on it.which looks great btw.
  13. nice idea!
  14. and like i said, i was speaking of higher wind speeds.10m/s is no problem i know that myself.
  15. im speaking about high wind speeds back then when i last tried it, it just went off the runway, no matter what, even with full opposite rudder and brake... possible, that something changed in regards of crosswind landings since the release.as i said, havent flown it for quite some time. to your assumption....no, i know how to do crosswind landings.
  16. yeah, this issue seems to be connected with the problem to stay on the runway at crosswind landings. i already assumed that something is off after the first few days of flying it. cant say im too impressed with this module so far.so it stays in the hangar until some improvements are noticeable.
  17. would love to have that one in dcs
  18. i wonder when the K will get released... on the ed site, the english version, its saying that it will be released in november.on the ed site, the german version, its saying that it will be released at the end of november... and the september newsletter is saying "we plan to make the Open Beta available in the October – November time frame". this indicates a possible 2month spread from now until the end of november,... any possibilty to have this narrowed down by some official?even if they cant give us an exact release date yet, it would be nice to know whether october would still be possible, or if they already know that it will be end of november....
  19. i think the answer is unfortunately yes.
  20. give me the K4 now, and i wont complain. :)
  21. well, as quick fix to have a complete box in different colour would already be a big improvement... but i think the real answer is to have no box at all...flying a little longer with both the lods adjusted for the p51 and the fw190, where i just made sure to use the least detailed lod model instead of the "box" convinces me more and more, that the real solution is to just create more lod models for the planes. i am amazed at what distances and in what situations i am able to spot but more importantly identify the planes without having this box.(note: without using the zoom function which i strictly avoid, i fly with a constant 90°FOV) only thing is, that its a waste of recources. with 30planes in the air, its still very playable for me, but i think i notice a small performance hit in certain situations. i think whats really needed, is to add more, less detailed lod models to every plane.the p51 and the fw190 each have 5currently.whats really surprising though is, that for example the F86 doesnt seem to have any! i dont know how much work it is to create such lod models though.but i guess one would use the aircraft model itself, and just take away more and more details?at least thats how the lod models look like.
  22. well, are you able to do that?
  23. ^^@ Weltensegler, just tried it, and the box becomes totally invisible once inside.
  24. well, in regards of online playing, yes to my knowledge theoretically the server could use these adjusted lod files and run an integrity check.but that would mean, that people who are not aware of this, and fly with the stock files, cant join.and thats certainly not in anyone's interest. on servers which dont run an integrity check, all kind of funky things can happen, and people can join even when having the most ridiculous mods running. so, i guess, the servers who run an integrity check will leave it as it is, and just wait for ED to fix this.(meaning you will not be able to fly with such a mod on those servers) i would recommend, if you wish to mod your files for now, to use this offline only and wait for ED to release a global fix. well, in regards of settings, there are lots of opinions, and i know that here on this forum im in the minority when i say that i can spot planes way better and way farther out with making sure MSAA is disabled, than having it enabled.the downside of this is of course, that it doesnt look as smooth anymore.but personally i got used to this pretty quickly, and dont notice it anymore in a way that i find it annoying. i guess you will have to try yourself and then base your choice on this.certainly better than to read the forums and trust the "other" guy.what works for him might not work for you.so test, test and test.
