my logbook mod is now default in DCS World 1.2.5

Now on my home computer and I'm seeing the same block you are seeing. Maybe it depends on how many people are viewing the thread at once? -

Odd, image is working for me. -
Well this was a nice surprise to come back to (surprise at such a big update). Loving that Backfire and SU-33. Now all the 33 needs is a 3D cockpit (which is coming in the future). Would love a Backfire DCS sim but I don't see that happening any time soon if at all. Indeed, would make for great blue on blue fights, one F-15 in standard colors and the other in aggressor colors. Only it involves live ammo instead of callouts. Plus I can always pretend it is the Middle East when MiG-21 comes out. LOL, Red Dawn scenarios like that would be awesome. Now get up here and piss in the radiator! I've heard that as well, and comparing the two I can see what they meant. Can't wait to get the 190.

Aye, I have CA but it has been gathering dust lately. Will be firing it up once the radar view is brought out.

I hope KI doesn't lose heart at the kickstarter not working out. If this was any standard fighter aircraft I have no doubt the kickstarter would have been funded by now. Due to the type of aircraft it is there are understandably a lot of skeptical people who aren't going to invest money until they see whether KI can pull it off. Once something tangible gets shown and KI proves they can do it, I think this project will take off.

Wasn't as much digging as I originally thought, just had to find Kinney's account name in the thread then look at all his posts. Here are the two I recall seeing: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1800803&postcount=1014 and then this one later on: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1802624&postcount=1205

Ah I see, first time messing with Kickstarter so I didn't know the particulars. Well let's hope there is a financial backer in the background who agrees to fund the difference on KS before it runs out, as I don't see any other way it is making the $75,000 in time.
-
Yep, not going to dig through this thread either but I remember him saying that as well, that being unsuccessful on the kickstarter won't end the project just means he has to get other funding. Even staying at the level it is, making up the difference would be easier than having to fund the entire $75,000.

The third parties also seem to take a lot of flak when nothing is shown, seems to be even worse than what ED takes sometimes. So some of that may be just to get people off their back.
-
Yep, not sure why some don't seem to understand that there isn't always something new to report. It's one thing to ask prior to when Wag's weekly updates came out, but to now act like every week should be a fireside chat on IG, F-18C, etc. is just ridiculous. It should be obvious that if Wags doesn't bring it up, then there isn't anything new to talk about. He shouldn't have to spell out "nothing new on that front", grown boys and girls should be able to figure that one out themselves.
-
They are working on the advanced flight model for the F-15 right now, so I doubt they will fix the scripted landing issue until the release of the AFM. Once the AFM is released the scripted landing goes away and that will fix the problem right there. So hopefully they got that released soon.

Just wondering EvilBivol, is there any chance you guys are considering making a twin huey in the future? UH-1Y would be great, but I'm guessing information for a UH-1N would be easier to come by than the super huey.
-
Glad to hear there will be chaff/flare launchers. Looks like a great list. Were RWRs installed on these hueys?

The June 21st DCS News Update Discussion Thread
Grim_Smiles replied to SkateZilla's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Wags should have added "just" to "like the SU-27..." to make it a bit more clearer, but you have your update on the MiGs and 33. -
No backup avionics?

Would you want/ allow flyable civilian aircraft in DCS
Grim_Smiles replied to Kroll's topic in DCS Wishlist
If someone wanted to make a civilian plane for DCS I say let them. Anything that brings in more interest (and thus money) to ED and third parties only helps us out in the long run. I use FSX for civilian planes but a DCS fidelity civvy plane would be interesting. However, there would need to be more done with the non-combat parts of DCS before a civilian plane would be worth it - maps, ATC, etc. As for flying this thing if those changes were made, you'd have to do single player or get on a server that doesn't have combat allowed (like one of the acrobatic servers). Taking an unarmed civilian plane into a combat server would be like running down the Ho Chi Minh trail buck naked with an American flag tattooed on your back. -
TM Warthog yellow arrows

I took the stickers off immediately after assembling the stick, but didn't come off cleanly for me so I had to use a damp cloth to remove the residue that got left behind. -

Cougar MFD with Lilliput UM-80 8" USB Monitors
Grim_Smiles replied to KLUTCH's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Doh sorry I missed your thread! I had actually jumped in this section to see about updates on TM F-18 handle and this thread's title was like waving a shiny object in front of me. This is sort of a dual response to you and Cichlidfan. Using your laptop was a good idea, but wouldn't work for my situation. I use my laptop at work a lot so I'd have to remove the MFDs after every use, and I'm too limited on desktop space. My call sign applies to me in real life and can't pull out my keyboard tray when I'm using my rudder pedals, so my keyboard has to sit on top with my TM gear, mouse and monitor when I get on DCS. So I was looking for something small and compact, but cheap enough that I can justify using solely for MFD use since I'd rather not remove them. This AOC monitor seems to fit the bill price-wise compared to the one this thread was based on. On your thread though someone mentioned another option they used that was cheaper, so if it's small enough I might look into that monitor as well. Thanks for the replies though both of you, and for the heads up on your thread. -
On Wags last screenie, is that bullet/shrapnel damage to that Mi-8's badonkadonk or is that something else on there?

Cougar MFD with Lilliput UM-80 8" USB Monitors
Grim_Smiles replied to KLUTCH's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Just a question to see if anyone knows whether there will be an issue with this, but I was looking at picking up an AOC 16" portable monitor and attaching Cougar MFDs to it. I don't believe that there would be any problems with this, but wanted to see if anyone might catch something I'm missing before I spend the cash. http://www.amazon.com/AOC-E1649FWU-USB-Powered-Portable-Monitor/dp/B005SEZR0G/ref=pd_cp_pc_3
