Not sure if this would be of any help, but here is F-20 Tigershark video that shows the same/similar RWR in action: In case the link does not start at the correct time, RWR footage is at 8:04

You get better spotting with 1.0; 2.0 is the worst. I was flying with 1.5 for a long time and when I switched to 1.2, I was amazed at how much easier it was to spot other planes. I wish there was a way to make cockpit PD of 2.0 and the rest of the world leave at 1.0

I've got mine earlier today - picked it up on my way to work from the post office and had no chance to plug it in yet. That said, mine is missing extra springs - I'll email VirPil later, after I can test the joystick itself. So what one does on a lunch hour? Well, of course, takes the base apart to change cams. All looked good until I had to change the pitch cam. That thing is a struggle. I couldn't get it in place with my hands - call me a weak office worker. Had to think what to do and ended up flipping joystick upside down, wrapping allen wrench in tissue, putting it across the cam and applying gentle (but firm) pressure from the top. I wonder if VirPil should either redesign the cam or perhaps it would make sense to disassemble the joystick further to where you have better access to the parts - it seemed doable and I seriously thought about it, but figured I didn't want to do it without talking to VirPil first as I was afraid to get things out of alignment.

Problem with pixel density at 2.0 is that it will bring your system on its knees very quickly. Plus object visibility goes drastically down as well. With my 1070, I do not consider Nevada or Normandy playable at 2.0PD (it was fine on 1.5.6, but I gave up on that branch after Normandy release). 1.5PD is what I consider playable, but I realized that going down to 1.2 does not deteriorate things all that much and I gain a lot target spotting.

I was playing around with different video settings today and noticed that video memory usage during the first mission was always much lower then if after quitting and restarting the same mission (even when I did not change any settings). For example: A10 Cold Start Quick Mission: ------------------------------------ First run - 7016.38mb Second run - 7903.88mb Third run - 8848.89mb I've used in game fps counter and readings were done right after hitting Fly button from Briefing popup menu. Mission was then quit to the main menu screen and same mission re-selected. P.S. Now that I think about it, for a while I was noticing that my first Bf109 Dogfight QM was always much smoother then all of the re-flies I did afterwards. P.P.S. In case this will come up - I have Asus GTX1070 Strix OC

Hi Cyph3r, Bringing discussion back to the base - set includes 3 sets of different cams and springs. Can you, if possible, post instructions on how to swap them. Thanks!

DCS shortcut in Oculus Home won't even launch for me - throws an error when I try to launch it...
-

I'm not going to defend creators (they indeed could have thrown in a couple of more engaging/different missions just to keep things different and entertaining), but campaigns are called BFM and ACM and just from that, one should realize you will be concentrating on actual engagements against different aircraft. Head to head is nice, but some variation where you start with advantage/disadvantage would have mixed things up nicely (but perhaps are not possible with current DCS mission builder). TACAN navigation is not that hard once you get the concept. I don't find flying to/from engagements distracting or too hard and much prefer that to the air start. Engagements - I didn't even try to shoot during initial merge. I've only flown first mission before 2.1 rolled out and now waiting for some VR optimizations before I move forward, but I did not find it too hard to get into the firing positions on F5's. Most of the time during training missions I could down them within allocated time... Overall, I'm happy with BFM campaign. I knew what to expect from it beforehand and it so far has delivered.

I don't get it, why rhonde can contribute to the discussion (and he's VKB dealer too), while you just shoot straight sales pitches - if nothing else, it makes just VKB desperate for a sale. On topic of discussion - I believe both options are great. Neither however wins at the moment: - VKB has a very good base out, but no grip (KG13 just does not have enough buttons for modern jets) at the moment. VirPil has a good grip out, but their base is not out yet (at least I did not get my shipping notice). - Neither have throttle or rudder pedals out at the moment (though both promise them). - VKB uses proprietary connection so TM grip cannot be connected to their grips - and lets face it, not everyone wants to have Russian style grip (they do promise to make a connector in future). - VirPil says their base is not made to be used on tabletop due to its height. Personally, it's been years since I last used my joystick on a tabletop, it's just very not comfortable. Most of the time I put TMWH between my legs (if you haven't tried it - try it and see how more comfortable it is compared to the tabletop). VirPil also sells the mounts you can attach to the chair (I've bought one, but didn't get it yet as I asked for it to be shipped along with a base - I plan to attach it to my chair instead, but I'll also see if I can attach it to my keyboard pull out).
-
And what would that achieve - your joystick/base won't come any sooner because someone got their shipping notice. Stop sitting with a stopwatch waiting for the deadline to post your dissatisfaction; if you don't trust the seller just ask for a refund, it was offered at least a couple of times in the last few days to anyone who don't feel secure about their order.

-
Probably a better approach would be to record track and then ask people for FPS at certain time.
-
No, there are no snap views in Rift. You can look at the instruments/panels and use zoom to get a closer look.
-
Yea, doing pretty much anything inside of the M2K cockpit involves zoom.
