  1. If we start building on that file above, is it going to be the same one that ends up in git (i.e. the 'official' one)?
  2. We ended up going back to vanilla saved game folders and reinstalling our various mods. Probably a corrupt file somewhere, but seems to all be working.
  3. So tried my old saved game folder, but just removed the aircraft, and it went back to being broken. Which implies it's something other than a mod aircraft
  4. In A/G MM with the HUD as SOI, pressing the TDC designates under the velocity vector. According to the manual you should be able to hold TDC and slew the target diamond around, but for me the diamond only moves when I release the TDC (and it just jumps to the current VV position).
  5. Oh yes totally agree there! I was more talking about the person wanting the devs to patch it to work on older kit.
  6. The WSO isn't doing anything. As soon as the WSO joins the crew, I (as pilot) can't take control of any of the sensors. The bars appear and immediately disappear.
  7. We should not be potentially limiting performance by catering to ancient hardware. At some point, upgrades are needed.

  11. You don't hold it down and then flick up. You press the castle hat in and release, then immediately press up and release. I've just tested it and it's works if you do it that way. First few times I thought you had to hold it down - I wonder if the tutorial is badly worded?

  13. i don't think you hold the 'in' press and move up. It's 2 commands in quick succession. Press in and release, press up and release? Will give it a quick test to confirm.
  14. Odd - it's just one button press (depressing the hat) quickly followed another button press (moving the hat up). Shouldn't really matter what controller. You're definitely in A/G?
  15. Yeah and it does only work in A/G mode. I spent quite a few minutes wondering why it wasn't doing anything until I realised I was in A/A
  16. I've got mine bound to up and down on a 4 way hat on my WH throttle, and it's working ok. I've not tried binding it to the WH slider/lever yet though.
  17. I assume the F-15 Boat Switch doesn't need to be left in place at any point then.
  18. I wanted to put the weapon select on the WH China Hat (since I wanted to use WH Boat Switch for F-15 Boat Switch). But the WH China Hat doesn't stay where you put it I guess I might use WH China Hat for F-15 Boat Switch so I can use the WH Boat Switch for F-15 weapon select - unless there's a reason that wouldn't work?
  19. When pressed short (<1s) in A/A search, the radar antenna is slaved to the acquisition symbol and enters a miniraster scan. When pressed long (>1s) in A/A search, the radar enters search sort at the acquisition symbol position, which is followed by lockon in any radar search mode. When pressed (<1s) in TWS mode while sampling a designated target, that target becomes the Priority Designated Target (PDT).
  20. I believe with 'Set' you have to hold it down to keep the swap active, while 'Toggle' does just that. I'm still debating whether to use this swap, or just use a shift mode on my joystick and use a completely different set of buttons. Benefits of that is I could put light and LED on the stick 'green' for the right stick and 'red' for the left

  22. If you mean the AA radar. doesn't pressing TDC invoke a whole process of the radar antenna moving to concentrate on that area of the sky, interrogating etc. It's therefore not instant. Pressing TDC on sensors like the TPOD feels instant, so I think delays on the radar would be realistic?

  24. Just dropped my first LGB. Watched it hit the target from the F6 view but as soon as I pressed F1 to return to the cockpit, DCS hung on the F6 view, then crashed. I'm also noticing stuttering etc. when just flying around, that I don't get with other modules.
  25. I'm surprised people use Stable. OB gets all the new things, including bug fixes first. And if you want to play online most of the servers seem to be OB too. I don't think I've ever felt 'wish I could be playing on a more stable version of DCS'.
