Checkout the Ka-50 and how the Russians did it. NVG and cockpit lighting work just fine in 1.5.7 latest build.

I am former USA Navy Seabees. In 1977 my reserve battalion sent a 55-man work crew, including me, down to Gitmo (Guantanamo, Cuba) for a remodeling housing project for Jamaican civilians living and working on the base. We took a bus from the Army National Guard Base in Peekskill, NY about 4 A.M. down to Willow Grove Naval Air Station to get our ride down. It was a 1960's era, all white, Reserve, 4-engine prop search and rescue airplane. That plane might have been used for submarine hunting; have seen newer versions with turbo-props on them that look similar. Willow Grove is no more, but it used to be just outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was a 7 hour flight. About half-way down, 2 engines started belching black smoke and the flight engineer came back to take a look how bad it was. We were not quite to the Bahamas, yet, That guy told us, "Not to worry! If we have to ditch, this plane can float longer than anything the Navy had at the time." Navy guys have a peculiar sense of humor! We made it OK. Had a great 2 week February vacation and got some swimming in with very pretty tropical fish in the ocean. Flew back on that same plane. Don't know what the model ID was. It had a big vertical stabilizer. -+- My one day off mid-way through Navy basic I did my liberty to downtown Chicago and saw a great air show down by the science museum just off Lake Michigan. Later that summer to Point Mugu Naval Air Station near Los Angeles, California got called up my duty section at the Port Hueneme Seabee base to go direct traffic for an even better air show there. Man, they had everything. Summer 1974.

My average age is circa 33. My real age is 66. Started playing with PC flight sims with a Commodore-64 in 1985, but the C-64 was not really a PC. Well, some of the guys i play against sure act like kids!! And I might be guilty of that accusation, too! When I did high-school our PCs were slide rules but possible to create model flying machines using one...

Been with DCS 7 or 8 years and have most of the inventory. I will not be buying anything new from DCS until I see how this newbie issue plays out. I will give it awhile, watch and see. By the way : DCS is the only game / sim I play . Don't go screwing it up... I will say bye-bye if you'all screw it up !!

Google Chrome Setup the translator utility for a different language, Spanish in your case. My copy translates .pdf files to English from Russian, French or Spanish.

If you can fly the Ka-50 with precision like a dead still hover from coming in fast in a minute or so, then flying the other copters should be an easy transition. In Multiplayer I see a lot of guys flying the various helicopters DCS offers. Few fly them well!! Only problem is with me, at age 66, now, I am a one aircraft guy; can't remember horse-crap!! I have most of the inventory. But switching back and forth there is always a re-learning curve.

I have the Ka-50 Kneeboard mapped separately to my G-Keys keypad to my Logitech G510 keyboard. The Logitech keyboard has a G-key utility that can build/layout specific layouts to each plane and indexes them separately as separate choices. It works nicely. I use the same setup for all my aircraft. Careful : the key-commands may not be the same as the aircraft differ. I quit flying the Shark for over a year. Been flying WWII, mostly the Burning Skies server. I completely forgot the Ka-50. Had to go through Chuck's Guide, the Ka-50 Manual and the DCS training videos and the YouTube videos---especially the ones by Froogle. 2 weeks later I am finally where I was; doing pretty good now. Except Sling-Loading!! Just saying! At age 66, my memory ain't too good. Am noticing the memory decline as I am aging.

I would settle for a verbal / text how-to The how-to manual concerning sling-loading in Combined Arms is non-existent. Maybe using the Huey would be a better approach to learning its sling-loading technique. Thanks for any help or ideas.

Grimes, Thanks for the info. Currently all 3 options are not allowed. -+- I learned about TacView , reading the 104th's forums years ago. I got it all setup, then 104th quit allowing its use. Then I bought one of the advanced premium versions. Other DCS servers allow its use. Why not allow Tacview's use once-in-awhile so I can see what has taken place as a debrief after a sortie or mission? A guy in a jet flew by me in my Ka-50 in a valley in mountainous terrain, friend or foe? He never fired on me and did not come back. At his speed he should of hit a mountain! I'd just like to know who he was, what happened? Once-in-awhile when the hot-shots want to go head to head dead serious, then turn Tacview off. Cheaters will find a way to cheat ; no way around that! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The other issue : ALSO , My DCS World (not Tacview) does not allow me to do DCS Replays on the 104th's server. I am assuming it is because of the same issue.

My Tacview recordings are not recording my 104th's server's sorties and I know Tacview functions fine on the other MP servers. Also cannot do a MP REPLAY on the DCS opening page. Am assuming this is deliberate on your end? Anything I am doing wrong on my end? Have not flown Ka-50 in a very long time. Am enjoying your various missions.

I just tried it on tonight's current mission. I just downloaded this one and set it up using my JSGME (Jones Soft). This is the newest one. I usually only fly in Multiplayer (MP) on the 1.5.7 with the 104th and 2.1 with the F99th servers. In 1.5.7 the 159th server does not use the Integrity Check and is a good test bed to experiment on. My old version used to work but now does not. I suspect the pathways in DCS code has changed with the newer updates. Have not flown Ka-50 in over a year and am just getting back into her. Concerning other aircraft, I see Devrim has lately updated some of his older stuff. 104th server, latest DCS updates, textures do not seem to be allowed as to the 104th's latest textures mod.
