  1. Interesting. That guy has one hell of a good attitude. If he had it when he did his POW thing, that was a big plus getting him through it. I suspect he is not telling us the bad stuff and does not want to relive it. I watched that film all the way through. Thanks for posting it. Week or two ago, I watched the story of what REALLY happened at the "Hanoi Hilton" during the Vietnam years. The main character being interviewed was James Stockdale. Was not laughs and fun and games. That phrase was never said by the civilian public in the 1960's or my time in 1974 to 1988. At the airports, the USO canteen were the only people that ever truly appreciated us military people and the flight crews on the planes.
  2. I am hoping Pop's guys will be coming here to DCS and create a squad and MP server. http://vcw-8.com/ Have the VRS SuperBug and played with it some on FSX and some of the added utilities for carrier stuff. Don't think I flew with Pop's guys online in a Multiplayer environment.

    3 Questions

How many guys flying the DCS aircraft are former military, not necessarily only planes, but us grunts, too? How many guys have real life combat experience? Of the combat vets, does playing combat sims ever trigger flashbacks at times?

  5. Don't think I mentioned it, yes, tail-wheel locked takeoff and landing. Somebody mentioned the physics that is going on. Much appreciated the description. If done correctly, landing can be achieved on 3-wheel touchdown and perfect roll-out.
  6. Alternative to MiraLAX ? Let the gastroenterologists and the pharmaceutical companies in on your secret, these chairs will go way up on price.
  7. I have a high school friend that did USA Marine Corps and VietNam. I asked him about his combat training and actual in theatre combat experience. He told me, "Forget all that crap and DUCK!" LOL! If fired upon, Evasive action >>> Now! In the Ka-50, don't be seen. Use the terrain to hide in, fly low, do not fly the pre-determined flight path. I fly freehand. May use the autopilot to rtb.
  8. Have had my CH Products trio of Fighterstick, Pro Throttle, and Pro Pedals for 7 years and still going. I use my setups almost daily. Plan is, when they need fixing to return to factory for refurbishing (if they still do this) and buy a new set for replacement and have the other set as backup. But mine still works just fine. They work great flying the copters and their fine moves like hovering very gingerly. I use velcro adhesive tape to secure my controllers to my office desk setup and pedals to the floor---they do not move around at all. CH Hanger is the place for more info http://www.ch-hangar.com/ and meet Ken King (531_Ghost) and do a Google search for his A-10C setup and Crunch's BS 2 setup .maps . Don't know if Ghost and Captain_Crunch still use the CH Products gear currently. http://www.ch-hangar.com/forum/index.php?/files/file/109-control-manager-dummies-guide/ As to glitches? There are usually workarounds. Just got to dig deep with searching for fix-ups. CH Products FighterStick Calibration =======================
  9. Simple Radio Anything ever come of this? I know diddly about this subject, is why I asked about it. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3057942&postcount=602

  12. Police your brass---afterwards. LOL!
  13. I did Navy basic in 1974 summertime just north of Chicago and thought that was hot. Texas must be brutal this time of year. Looking back, Navy was the best adventure I ever did. I'd do it again in a heartbeat! Good luck to you, man.

  15. Yeah, it's the women folk that are dangerous, gets us guys messed up every time!
  16. Does anybody use SR---Simple Radio on your WWII server? If so, anybody using it with the Bf-109? TS3 is seldom used, not many people are ever using it when I am on.
  17. eekz, Nice job! Thanks for the server and making interesting missions.
  18. _______________________LABELS___ON !! ________________________ Finally got my setup to play the updated Alpha WWII and the Burning Skies server pretty good now. No problem at all spotting enemy aircraft quite away out. It was all about getting the Options selections adjusted just so, for my setup, trial and error and reading the DCS forums for advice. My monitor is an Alienware 2310 (1920 x 1080 @ 120 Hz) Video card is an Asus Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 Windows 7 Pro Frame rate at 60
  19. I fly the 109 exclusively. Have the other 3 WWII aircraft. Flares are great to let the enemy know exactly where you are if looking for a fight. Also nice to use to call in reinforcements if I get involved with more than one, one-on-one.
  20. Tacview Recording in Alpha OK, now re: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3183993&postcount=529 https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=3183993#post3183993
  21. Hi, For the DCS 2.1.1 Alpha I changed the path as you suggested to My Documents and in DCS Options / Special / Tacview ; I set Compression Level to "not compressed" . My previous path worked OK in 1.5.6 and the earlier Alpha (Message #526 above) but not in the present 2.1.1 Alpha. Works now. Thanks
  22. I have the latest update for Tacview on the "Burning Skies" - Alpha server and the latest DCSW Alpha patch and the latest Nvidia driver. My ACMI files should be dropping to C: Program Files (x86)\Tacview\Recordings folder. Tacview was working on June 7, 2017 and clickable as an Open file (upper left hand icon) file ; not working currently on "Burning Skies" - Alpha. Suggestions from you guys as to what I may be doing wrong? Did not purchase a key, yet. Still is working OK on 1.5.6 Stable version on June 30, 2017, the latest patch, the "Steel Balls" WWII server.

  24. I use the kneeboard and its 4 options and I use the F10 map; it is fairly easy to find my way around the map. Kneeboard: On/Off toggle, Mark-point, preceding page and next page.
  25. Never have been a fan of the pre-canned missions DCS offers with the new aircraft. Never have had a negative issue flying in MP, 104th Phoenix server in now the 1.5, especially flying the Warthog or the Black Shark.
