I happen to agree, as nice as this mission is, there are some things that either need to find a cure for or removed from the flight plan. The dive and deceleration might be able to be cured with some more tuning of dive angles and entry /exit speed adjustments. But the real killer are the loops. NO formation would enter into a loop so aggressively. And if no way to fix the initial pull up, IMHO it needs to be pulled from the flight plan. I speak with a fair amount of formation flight experience from all positions including leading. Dont get me wrong, I see the incredible amount of work you put into the mission. There are just some things that may be unfixable for now so for sake of realism, may need to be left out. -

Yep, filters would be great addition! Baby steps I imagine. On the original note of saving the sort options. Considered reporting that as a bug? -

What I am getting at is the default sort means nothing if the program saves your selected sort for the next time. It does for me is all I can say. /shrug -
Put together a video from my flight with the Virtual Horsemen on VE day. A mass flight organized by Fougasse and Mermin of the Virtual La Ferte Alais group to celebrate Victory in Europe for WWII. There were 15 Mustangs, 1 Fw 190 and some Alpha jets in the flight. My apologies for the Alpha jet pilots, I do not have the mod so they are absent from the video.

Multi player server sorting

I have set my MP server sort to favorites. Now, every time I go to MP, the favorites are still sorted at the top. Is it not saving your selected sort? Works this way in both 1.5 and 2.0 for me. Current method, when working at least, is the preferred method as people will have different ideas on what they want to sort on. -
There is, but it is a pain as you have to edit the mission file directly. Unless you are comfortable with digging through the mission code to find all the things you need to edit, depending on what you are trying to change. It is probably easier to start it over. I have done it a couple of times myself successfully, but it isn't something I could explain on the forums very well. Maybe someone has done it more and can explain. What are your current mission conditions? (number of units/countries involved) and what are you needing to change?

Seen you having issues about the carriers and will try to provide some insight from our experience on the Virtual Aerobatic Server. The normal carriers seem fine for communications but they bounce around on the ocean creating sync issues and can damage A/C on deck. We tried static carriers to fix the bouncing issue, but found out that communications with the static carrier did indeed cause the server to crash. Since we are a non-combat server, our solution was to make a static carrier on the opposite side of what is available (in our case, all selectable a/c are "red", the static carrier is "blue"). This removes the capability to communicate with it, eliminating the server crashing comms bug and is stable on the water. The downside is you can not spawn, rearm, refuel or repair on it. For this reason it probably will not work out for you. If you can deal with the bouncing carrier and posible de-sync issues, the regular carrier should still be ok for you, in our experience. No, DCS has no way to push down or enforce mod compatibility at this time.

We generally do not use mods on the VA server. With Nevada, we are going to experiment with some simple mods like adding a race cone. Problem is, only the people with the mod will see it. So we are experimenting with different ways to deal with this. Wont say it will not happen, just do not expect it anytime soon.

Not all grass/ground densities are the same. Some fields are prepared, others are just naturally more dense. This does not mean the grass areas around a field should automatically allow A/C to roll across them. This, plus changing moisture levels will change the density levels as well. Could things be better on the ground in DCS, sure. But I rather they fix the issues with the a/c in the air, ATC, weather, Network code, damage modelling etc before they work on ground density issues.

Real pilots have to wait hours or longer before they can fly again if they get stuck in the grass. Are you really worried about a few minutes? Learn to stay off the grass. We are testing this on the Nevada server and looking to add some hotstart a/c to the old mission eventually. This is more for having more of a particular airframe on limited airport slots, variety is always good too.

JSGME can indeed be used to do what you want. Will make it easier to remove those updates prior to patching too. Standard JSGME folder structure in DCS: ..\DCS World\_Mods The first subfolder in _Mods creates the name for that mod that you choose to activate/deactivate ..\DCS World\_mods\Airshow Cones (seen in JSGME as "Airshow Cones") The folder structure beyond that MUST match the DCS World folder structure for the files being used. ..\DCS World\_mods\Airshow Cones\mod\tech\Airshow Cones (all required files for this mod reside here) Doesn't matter if there is 1 or more more folders being modded, just make sure they are all in your custom folder (in the above example: "..\_mods\Airshow Cones") I have even done this for the saved games area. Just need to have a new JSGME shortcut that sets that folder as the working directory. On another note, you may be able to setup your mod in the saved games area. Looks like this is the future for DCS mods anyways. Just have not tried it yet myself.

Server is allowed to turn on IC, even if the shield is red. Others wont be able to join with the mod though(depends on where the mod is installed). Need to do some more testing on how this actually works out. -
Provided there is enough empty space on your C drive, leave it be, it will perform much better there. But you do not want to keep adding additional programs/files to that drive.

When you say it passed IC, did you mean you got onto a server with IC turned on? or did you start your own server and turn on IC? -

Limited testing, yes. I have a mission that uses 1 added object to the DCS files, a custom race cone. No DCS files were changed. I was able to start a MP session with IC turned on and then had friends try to connect. Whether they had the mod or running clean installs, they were unable to join. Once I removed the mod back to a completely clean install, then others with clean installs could join the IC enabled session. So far, that's the limit of my testing.

ATM yes, have refueled the F15 at the Russian tanker as well(though not inverted). Admittedly, there were A LOT of disconnects with the inverted refuel, but the pictures make it look good right? Now back to our regularly scheduled screenshots....... :pilotfly: -
