  1. "BignameYoutubers" are in conflict of interest. All this what I warn you about was confirmed with that "BignameYoutubers" and never got any answer from Pimax about that. That even continuing with fault information true new Web page. So answer me why I should trust someone who does not answer or show me that I'm wrong and it is just my assumption if it is wrong? I give you a practical example comparing it with other product. we are not talking now about performance just about price and on what it is based on. And don't compare it with Vive PRO. Vive PRO with lighthouseV1 what is equivalent to Pimax is 1100$ not 1400$ what is the price with new advanced V2 Lighthouse. Now you are trying to fabricate facts. I'm not a hypocrite who will complain to Vive PRO and then for the same issue justify Pimax. As I say Price is bad from the same reason for both.
  2. All of you who track this VR part of the forum may notice that I was supporting other VR solutions than just Rift or Vive. Honestly, there is no perfect VR so the same way how Rift or Vive was not perfect same way this goes to others HMD. Personally, I'm still looking for my VR HMD but my experience coming from experimenting with DIY VR solutions where I was even able for the much more decent price to get 6DoF with better performance in DCS than Rift for example even with WiFi connection. So I know how much it cost parts build in such HMD. For better understanding pricing will just give you some parallel with multiple VR HMD's. My complaint about CV1 was overpriced when it was 700$ without controllers and just one base tracking cam. Soon after Rift drop prices on what they promise before CV1 come to market as 400$ target price. Today Rift is still a valuable option with controllers and two cams for better room scaling tracking for just 400$. Remember that price. Vive PRO is a bad example of overpricing. I don't know why maybe they want to sell it as professional equipment and if this is the case you can't expect consumer market price because you don't pay mass product for consumers who just want personal fun. If you buy it for business then this price is an investment so you don't have another choice than buy it because you will earn your investment back true exploitation. But anyway Vive PRO will lover price sooner or later and reach normal Vive level soon and be a full consumer product. Samsung Odessey+ is a positive example where new advanced model inherits old one and keep the price. The new model is 499$ as it was in the past. For me, this is still best buy option no matter on FOV disadvantage compering with Pimax5K+. This is an example of the fair price to the consumer market with a decent profit for the developer. It is a balanced and fair price and gives you the most performance per $. Unfortunately, Pimax follows the bad example from consumer market we could see in last year in multiple areas where is obvious how some companies love that crypto mining fiver and now trying to keep high prices as long as possible even it is not justified. This prices are artificial and will be leveled in some normal range sooner or later so we just have to be patient and not buying immediately whatever new is shown on market. To explain with this examples how and why Pimax price is too high and they offer lower quality parts under high-end price. So here is a comparison with Samsung. Samsung got better electronics and more expensive OLED displays even they are smaller diagonal is more expensive comparing to Pimax LCD panels build in which are in essence much cheaper on the free market. Samsung also gives you controllers and full 6DoF tracking Pimax is not and such complete product with more quality parts and good brand with way-way better customer support is 200$ less than plain HMD 5K+ from Pimax, known as a company with a bad reputation from the previous 4K model. I believe that Pimax5K+ is after all best VR HMD you will find on the market soon but not worth that money or better say risking that money because there is more question which I will not rais now because it is not confirmed by testers and so far available reviews. I will wait for Jabbers or someone else from this community detailed review with taking attention on some details which I could give them via PM. Simply I don't want to rais some issues before it could be confirmed and all this for our benefit as possible consumers. After all, it is your personal decision would you buy something or not. In my opinion, for example, Samsung could produce large FOV VR HMD in a few months based on the existing technology they have with WMR. Also, Vive and Oculus are capable to do that as well if they get interested on that market. Also, there is two other and so far more advanced high FOV VR HMD's, StarVR which is developing for more than 5 years now and that Chech company, I forgot the name of the product. Right now that products are not consumers so they are expensive but there is some announcement they searching investors to enter on that market and maybe in next year we could get multiple competitors to Pimax5K. So my advice is to put on hold this Pimax5K for now and not do prepurchase till we see where this is going or if they will put some more realistic price after preorder failed.
  3. For those who think about the preorder, Pimax needs to worn about some fault information from Pimax. First of all, take in mind that this 700$ price for 5K+ and 900$ for 8K are just HMD without proper tracking. There is no 6DoF without controller and base station who is still under development and it is not sure when will be available and for now, it is just taken 300$ deposit. End price is unknown and could be higher. So 5K+ with 6DoF will be minimum 1000$ and 8K will be 1200$. On this web page nowhere is describe that this 200FOV is actually diagonal, not horizontal like with Rift or other HMD. Real maximum FOV for Pimax5K+/8K is around 170. 8K model is promoted as full RGB but it is not. The only 5K+ is full RGB and that is why it has a better picture than 5K BE and 8K because it is supported chroma 4:4:4 subpixels. HMD and Controllers have promoted as Vive Lighthouse 2.0 technology but this is questionable. Point is new second generation tracking and controllers will work only on the second generation of lighthouse base station and they promote Pimax tracking and controllers will work on both first and second generation of the base station which actually can do only first generation. This is some of the technical facts and uncleared issues on what I never get an answer from Pimax. I'm not trying to convince someone to not the order this product but take this into consideration to not be disappointed later and felt deceptive. It is all on you now when you know this. I just think this information is fair and needed to be considered before purchase because it is a high price. Those who back it true Kickstarter are having a benefit of significant lover price and have the privilege to get it before Christmas. So they made a good deal, no doubt. Don't get me wvrong I'm not trolling this product after all from reviews looks like this will be best VR HMD on market but only if we put aside price. That is not mean will be the best buy option or fair price for being honest cheaper LCD displays based VR HMD. I think it is fair to know this information before making a decision.
  4. No bad feelings, it was not my intention. I was just want to show how fully relaxed you was on that meeting. To be honest and as I say before from your report I found out more details I didn't get an answered so far or confirmed some of my assumption based on some other reviews for that product.
  5. Yes, there are some products already. Pimax5K+ for example with 179FOV or StarVROne. Pimax already opened preorder for 5K and 8K models but to be honest I will wait with it after proper testing because there is a lot of suspicions on the quality of that product. Looks like the stereotype about Chinese product is not just stereotypes in the end. So put it on hold for now, it is overpriced. 5K will cost in the end over 1200$ to the full level with tracking and conntrolers. There is also StarVR One who have way better picture clarity but for now, it is not consumer product and cost is way high, but ... Point is StarVR start as consumer product then IMAX invests in that project to be special IMAX hardware for IMAX theatres but now looks like IMAX is in financial problems and abandoning this project and Starr is looking to go back to the consumer market again. So we could soon find out are they will be competitive with price and quality to the Pimax5K. Star VR already have 210FOV and eye-tracking. Both HMD uses full RGB chroma 4:4:4 displays. 8K is failed even with 800PPI vs 530PPI on 5K but without full RGB chroma 4:4:4 display. Pimax claims it has full RGB but from screenshots, it is obvious it is not an SDE is almost the same no matter on that PPI advantage of the 4K display. That is why I'm predicting fail of the 8K and 8KX model. 8K will cost 1500$ in the end. Samsung live price for upgraded model same as it was with previous so this is more than fair. Put Pimax5K on hold for now even it is best HMD for now but it is not best buy and it is possible that in near future. It is not a problem if some product cost 1000 or 1500$ if it worth it but Pimax have to prove them self first with quality and so far they didn't convince me no matter how much I was supporting that project in the past.
  6. When I was announcing such possible scenario with Oculus Rift I was stigmatized on this forum but I was just following the logic from moves made by Oculus after FB take over. Unfortunately, similar things are going on with Pimax. Maybe they will not be taken over by someone else company but moves they do right now could show financial problems even after a successful Kickstarter campaign. The product is not finalized and it is far from it and they push it to the market anyway. Right now it is too expensive for this level of product. Have in mind 5K is 700$ just HMD without tracking, controllers and audio, also without proper software optimization and support. There is no ASW hoe they call it Brainwarp. To reach the same quality of the picture as competitors Vive PRO/Odessey you need much more SS then those HMD. I'm talking about picture quality when you set it on the native resolution of HMD without measuring FPS performances. That tester should compare such screenshot not put Pitool SS to 2.0 plus SteamVR on 300% in same time. We need practical usage test and comparison. There is a lot of question still in the air and focus specifications. I'm not denying Pimax potential but it is not worth it price they asking for. Compare Samsung as a good example, they launched an upgraded Odessey model with the same price as previous, 499$ so didn0t try to use the opportunity to rob faithful customers like some other companies. They build much more expensive AMOLED displays with tracking, controllers and quality AKG audio. Pimax has higher FOV but if we compare all this with what you got per $ Samsung is a way-way better option. For Pimax run properly you will need RTX4080superTI and we all know when such GPU will be released. Till then Samsung or even StarVR will be release better new alternative to Pimax5K+ and remember my words now same as my words about Rift 8K is already failed project.
  7. I will put Pimax on hold for now. Maybe it is the best headset now on market but it is still far away from the finalized product. 5K+ with tracking and audio will cost minimum 1200$. Finalization of the software is questionable same as performances comparing with Vive Pro/Odessey+ which is full finalized products software or hardware. Brainwarp is right now more Brainwash than proper working ASW and without it DCS is unpayable. For running DCS on 5K you need reduce details on minimum to reach minimal playabitity. With Pimax is much question unanswered and even false specification published. 8K will cost 1500$ and it will be the worst product than 5K+. This what Pimax doing right now is complete nonsense so I will not pay them in advance based on deceptive information like for example promoting 8K as full RGB when it is obviously not a case.
  8. I doubt in Jabbers review accuracy. Simply as you can see on video it is evident how he is wearing flipflops and with flipflops, SDE is more pronounced and could effect on hand tracking module because of picking up additional fingers, more than 10.
  9. As first, I'm not a Pimax fanboy. You should read my post's on Pimax forum. To be clear, Pimax5K+ is right now best VR on the market. No doubt. Is it worth it that price they want for it now on preorder it is very questionable? In my opinion, it is not and from same reason like I was criticizing Oculus with their Rift pricing policy or Vive PRO. No way it is worth it that money especially with the huge amount of unanswered questions and doubts, especially about 8K. Even 8KX is questionable now in my opinion. Simply parts build in 5K and 8K are too cheap for that amount of pricing, software is not that good either so Oddissay is still best to buy option. That is my honest opinion based on the same principles as before. We should wait and pass this preorder even I will say boycott it in a similar way we should do with RTX 20xx GPU's to force it to make more fair price and not just ripping of faithful customers. We should stop being a sheep's and stud up for our rights and earned to respect us as customers. This goes for everyone not just for Pimax, Nvidia, OR, Vive or someone else whatever they trying to sell us. That is who the wormeaten is, nobody's fun boys. I just want to be treated as someone who is smart enough to not be fooled by anyone. Pimax5K+ is the best VR same as RTX 20xx best GPU or Intel i9 9900K best CPU but no one worth money they ask for it. Who wants to pay, let them pay I'm not giving that money for a high overpricing product. Especially with dissent and much cheaper alternative available today on the market.
  10. I think it is not time yet for haptic feedback. Will be great but why not interaction even without too. I can understand you about it but with CG I was more missing positional tracking. BTW Pimax preorders start from today. So they keep a promise about that any price is for my opinion little bit too high just like with Vive Pro. But that is my personal opinion.
  11. Soon should be open for pre-order but sweeping will not be before Q1 because it is questionable if they will manage to send all shipments to backers before Christmass as they promise. Jabbers, great review, you answer me on more doubts I have after initial reviews even Svevivers DCS reviews. About 5K, if you backing 8K you are able to switch to 5K+ which is 100$ less so you will be able to choose some additional modules for Pimax5K in that 100$ value. So you can choose this hand tracking module or something like Vive audiostrap but for Pimax, or eye tracking. About this hand tracking maybe now you understand what I was talking about in our debate in Captogloves. Check what I'm trying incouraging people to more participation in that VirtualBox project which could be used in DCS no matter is it Captoglove, Leapmotion, this Pimax hand tracking module or any other VR controller. I don't have anything against any one of them just want to encourage people or even Devs of any of this devices to do something about it because this way could be used in the same way in multiple titles including DCS for ultimate VR cockpit interaction. Now after your experience with Pimax try to be open for such an idea.
  12. Around 400 - 500$ but without light house. Will be sell separately so this will be around additional 300$ so all in all 700 to 800$
  13. Right now Captoglove is like this ...
  14. I'm not sure about SLI in Vulkan. Vulkan is based on AMD technology so I expect AMD card could benefit from it. But that is not bad for Nvidia fans because looks like new RTX 20xx cards are based on Vulcan technology what prove high performances gain on Vulcan so maybe NV Link will function then as well.
  15. Be smart and upgrade it with used GTX 1080ti. Used 1080ti is around 400 - 450$ and will be good to a period until AMD lunch 7nm Vega 20 consumer GPU. My point is not necessary to buy AMD but this will definitely force Nvidia to lower price or release something much better than latest RTX 20xx graphics cards. Right now RTX 20xx not worth that money and wait for AMD or next-gen Nvidia is too long. And there is a lot of used 1080ti on market right now so use this opportunity and gap this bridge until real advanced GPU get on the market in next year or two. Remember Intel also entering in GPU market in 2020. Maybe we will finally have real competition in GP U market segment.
  16. Problem is somewhere else. In a time when SLI and CF were introduced was better and more logic pricing among GPUs. Todays GPUs are to priced and you will not get 50% more performances for 50% higher price. Today RTX 2080ti vs GTX 1080ti in performances is around 30% but the price is high over 100%. If SLI works properly who will buy new GPU for that price when with two 1080ti will get much higher performances for less money? Disabling SLI on 1060 and now on 2070 proving what is real intention with SLI/NV Link.
  17. That is one of the biggest ED fail and it is only ED responsibility. I can't figure out why they didn't do anything about it when this outdated engine desperately needs for more hardware resources. Such support will be made DCS more popular among FS comunity. That is one of the biggest reason why most of the players from Il2 didn't switch to DCS who is a better sim but Il2 works better without many problems. DCS even on the best GPU has significantly lower performances. With proper SLI/CF you will get better performances with 2x RX580 in CF than with RTX 2080TI in just 40% of the RTX 2080TI price or better 2xGTX 1080 in SLI for just 65% price than RTX 2080TI with significant better performances. What do you need more affordable and more performance. Only who is losing here is Nvidia.
  18. I will wait proper DCS review from some more competent DCS VR user. It is mentioned in the video but to repeat. Yes, 5K have more clarity and better instrument reading but 8K is better in distance view sporting targets. The difference is not that big as this screenshots suggesting. This screenshots true lens is highly zoomed to notice this difference but in nature, it is much better and the difference is not that big. But even 8K has better picture compared to Vive PRO and Odyssey. We need a more detailed comparison for the final decision.
  19. Check this comparison true lens. Picture is comparible with Vive PRO and Odyssay so Rift is definitely inferiour quality and it is not compared at all.
  20. We forget one very important thing, even 5K+ have a better picture than Vive PRO or Odyssey and that is without taking in consideration FOV advantage. Even according to this Sweviver preview FPS is not significantly lower if it is not equal to Vive PRO or Odyssey. The only problem so far is actually no ASW which are coming as Brainwarp. Whatever someone chose will be a huge step forward anyway.
  21. Yes, exactly that was my point when I mention 4K per eye 60Hz native resolution mod on the 8K model. I'm expecting much better performance without high SS need on native resolution and with acceptable details will be playable. There is some guy who was playing DCS with Pimax4K on GTX 1060 so this must be playable on 5K or 8K as well with better-adopted details. I'm waiting some more experienced DCS player review.
  22. Pimax8K without native 4K rez is pointless but have to mention when, not if, they made available 4K on 60Hz as native resolution for an 8K model that could be the game changer and we could get a much better picture than it is now on the 5K model. Have in mind that in 8K model you have to upgrade resolution which is then downgraded and again upgraded so you must have some loses and there is why this clarity issue. Best will be the native resolution of the display as native output resolution, what does a case in 5K and thats from this clarity come. But I want to say that Pimax8KX have potential because there will be no need for high SS so we could expect similar performance as it is now with 8K but with much better picture and clarity.
  23. Berlin was turning point. There Pimax got approval from backers that with Hardware side Pimax8K and 5k+ is ready to go in production. No more Hardware changes. On Software size, they have some few upgrades but this is not effecting on Hardware production. As they say, they will start production for fulfilling backers and they hope will finish till Christmas. I'm just quoting, not my opinion. Also, they confirm starting taking preorders in October. So this preorders will start shipping after Backers so that is after New Year. This is just my calculation based on available proven informations and I think will be a correct one.
  24. Wait for a while. No time to rush with a tricky decision. 5K offers better clarity on what this picture showing and proving the claim that text is more readable on 5K but on horizon 8K is better what effecting on better target spotting. So this is all factors to considering in DCS usage. Easier instruments and HUD reading vs distance target spoting? To be, or not to be? This is the question now. I will leave this after some experience and more detailed review related to DCS or similar games specifically.
  25. Like I said before with all my respect to Sweviver work he is not dedicated DCS player so take all of his reviews related to DCS with a grain of salt. For more detailed and precise review related to DCS performances, we have to wait for some of our DCS community backers to receive their HMD to see how it is work. There is one other solution. Pimax offers ED cooperation on this hardware. ED accepted but we don't know how far it was gone or just stay on this first contact initiative. My point is we should force somehow Pimax and ED to send 8K and 5K specimens to Wags on proper evaluation related to DCS. I believe only that way we could get proper preview even for backers to decide which one to chose.
