  1. In reality very few aircraft actually had this issue.
  2. "An 85 Squadron Mosquito destroyed a Ju 88S-1, Z6+HH from 1./KG 66 but was caught in the explosion which burnt off the fabric covering." Note the effect on the canopy
  3. Anyone else jonesing for some more pictures and details? I cannot wait to hear the engine start up on this.
  4. Not true, I will have to dig out the reference but Nick Grey of The Fighter Collection and ED has stated that he wants the BOB era aircraft in DCS and the 109 G6 was also mentioned. Further more we already have the Fw190 Anton and Dora... Fingers crossed we shall see a Griffon engined Spitfire or my personal preference the Typhoon and Tempest (Please, please, PLEASE ED)
  5. I believe they are from a mod pack.
  6. The Typhoon project RB396 is the best hope, they expect to be airworthy in 2024.
  7. Regarding the Sea Fury I think you are mistaking it with the Tempest II. The sea fury was in operation in 1947 whilst the Tempest II which was essentially a pre naval version of the Fury was being on the verge of deployment in the Pacific when the ear ended.
  8. Which variant of the TA152? For night fighting I think the Mossie NF and Me110 or He219 would be a better choice? Much as I love the Beaufighter the Mossie was a superior aircraft. The night fighting would be a fascinating and rarely touched upon aspect of WWII.
  9. One can only hope, it would be fantastic to have either one come to DCS. I wonder if there is enough data available or if they will have a repeat of the Jug!
  10. The only ones I have seen were not in game
  11. Would be nice to get some in game shots of the Mossie since it is supposedly flying in the internal build... :music_whistling:
  12. Thanks for clearing that up Birko
  13. The amount of damage it could soak up is damn impressive... MM401 with a large section of wing blown off and the left hand engine shattered... Still managed to crash land it  :noexpression: https://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/205090444 The website and book contradict each other...either flak damage or hits by a nightfighter!
  14. It begs the question of which rail system we will get a mk1 or a mk3... "From December 1944, aluminium "Mark III" rails, which weighed 240 pounds (110 kg) per set, replaced the steel Mk Is, which weighed 480 pounds (220 kg)." Taken from the Typhoon wiki page.
  15. Well that sucks.... Were squadrons setup with rockets or bombs like the Typhoon squadrons or was the armament chosen based on what the mission required?
  16. Ah yes that site is where I found the Google image as well. So coastal command at least used that armament, which makes sense given the tasks they had. Still would be nice to know if they ever flew with 2x500lb bombs, 4xRP-3 and fuel tanks. Could make for some interesting missions with that setup.
  17. Here we go... One from a book I have. And one from Google... The book states that there is two "only two rails per wing" however if you look closely at the end of the rockets it looks like two rails with four sets of fins/rockets per wing
  18. I have seen a picture that shows a fuel tank next to four stacked RP-3. There was a 'fence' between the rockets and fuel tank IIRC. Will have a look for it.
  19. I asked a similar question before regarding the rocket armament and received no reply. Hopefully Series 2.
  20. The race is on :smilewink: http://warbirdsnews.com/warbirds-news/focke-wulf-fw-190f-8-white-1-restoration-update-september-2019.html
  21. If that is all that is good for you I suggest you look at other games after all ED (for the most part) a study sim.
  22. Good spot Philstyle. If you haven't already you might get a quicker response by adding your questions to this thread... https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=3981312#post3981312 S!
  23. You could say the same thing about the Pacific... So what is your point. All I am saying is that regarding the jet aircraft ED produce is that a lot of people complain that ED don't produce a coherent line up of aircraft, it is the same for Europe 1944--1945. Yes, things have been improved with the addition of the A8 however there are other aircraft required to bring a coherent theatre... G6/G14 Typhoon P-38 JU-88 etc... The list goes on... I am not saying that we need all of these to be flyable (some in fact might not be able to be created without sufficient data) but we need AI at the very least. And who mentioned north Africa?
  24. Obviously I was talking about the Zero
  25. Why the European theatre is far far from being complete... Learn from history complete one front before opening up another :D
