  1. It's also confirmed Merlin 25 here https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/shop/modules/mosquito/
  2. This is one campaign I'm really looking forward too.
  3. You left out a "damn" Basco!! ^^^^ There, fixed it for ya
  4. Basco, There are 3 487 Sqn skins in this screenshot based on aircraft that took part in the raid :- EG-T (HX982) P/O Maxwell Sparks RNZAF P/O A. C. Dunlop 487 Hit by Flak wheel collapsed on landing at base EG-R (LR333) W/C I. S. Smith, DFC F/Lt P. E. Barns, DFC 487 Returned EG-H (HX856) F/Sgt S. Jennings W/O J. M. Nichols 487 Returned ED have already said that there will be skins available on EA release of the Mossie that took part in the raid. This quote from 30th July Newsletter.. "At Early Access stage DCS: Mosquito FB Mk.VI will have different skins available, including those used in the famous Operation Jericho. " So all good. I haven't seen EG-F (Gp Capt Pickards aircraft) in any screenshots as of yet but I bet some talented skinner may well do one for us should it not be included in the set we get from ED.
  5. Sorry, but this had me on the floor, I couldn't stop laughing!!! BTW like your avatar, have you read up on the gentleman concerned? Quite a character and a born leader. A very very brave man, the sort you would gladly follow down the barrel of a gun and someone you would be proud to fly with, I know I would have been. If you haven't looked into him and his exploits I would definitely recommend it.
  6. good work Sydy. Downloaded your checklist and just awaiting the release now Talking of the Starter and Boost coil buttons, in the Spitfire I have these mapped to my Warthog throttle on the two "ENG OPER" switches which are sprung loaded into the centre position. They work great for the Starter and Boost coil buttons. You actually have to make the "V" with your fingers and push both switches forward at the same time. Feels realistic in VR. What I'm hoping for in the Mossie is a similar set up, but as we have two engines and four buttons, I'm hoping they will work similar to the Spitfire where the buttons work if the covers are open but don't if the covers are closed. This way I hope to map those same switches to both the left and right engine buttons at the same time, but use the covers as a kind of modifier so when starting the left engine the covers would be open allowing the switches to work on the left engine buttons, but not the right as these covers would be closed. When starting the right engine, the right covers would be open allowing the buttons to work but the covers on the left engine would be closed isolating the buttons on the left engine which would already be running! make sense? Hope it works in practice when the Mossie drops!!
  7. ROFL. I got a day ahead of myself!!! Fixed
  8. Well, the only thing right now we do know for certain is the Channel Map deal finishes on the 9th Sept at 15:00 GMT. My optimistic side say's this could point to a possible release of either the map update, or both the map and Mossie EA launch on the 10th Sept, with a back up of the 15th Sept in there just in case there's a last minute hitch and ED have to postpone it until the 15th. Another possible clue to back a 10th Sept launch window is if it definitely wasn't going to be the 10th and they were indeed aiming for the 15th then why not run the map offer up until the 14th Sept? ED could potentially bag a few extra sales on the map and the Mossie during the 5 days extra they could have run the deal for (10th - 14th) IF they were aiming for a 15th Sept launch date. Another scenario is we are just seeing what we want to see and we won't see the Mossie in EA anytime this next month!! lol.
  9. When did he say this? That's news to me! I've not heard this before. I wonder what happened?
  10. The way I understand it is :- For pre-orders of modules that are not yet released into Early Access you would get 30% discount. For purchases of modules that have already released into Early Access you would get 20% discount. So in this case you buy into the Mossie pre-purchase you get 30% discount on the aircraft ($59.99 -30% = $41.99) If you buy the Channel Map and DON'T buy the Mossie you get 20% discount on it ($49.00-20% = $39.99) If you buy the Channel map and have already pre-purchased the Mossie (at 30% discount) you can get the Channel Map for $34.99 ($49.00 - 30% = $34.99) I just checked the ED web store and it's on there, you would have to log into your account so the system knows what you already have/have not got and I would assume add the extra 10% discount onto the Channel map when you go to the checkout. I can't check this part as I already had the Channel Map from when it first dropped last year. So I missed out on this offer on the map. I got 20% on it when it first released.
  11. I see where you're coming from now, fair comment. Another option would be to give those folks who have already bought the map extra "miles" points on the Mosquito pre-purchase equivalent to the 10% difference, which we could then use on any future purchase and recoup it that way.
  12. Looks like both of us are $4.99 out of pocket then! When I bought the map there wasn't a package deal on at that time, which is essentially what this is, buy both now and save an extra $4.99 on the map. Do I begrudge ED that $4.99?... not at all. I've had more than my moneys worth out of it since it released 17 months ago...
  13. If you have already purchased the map then that's it. You have it. What you will get is the update (at no extra cost to you) that's coming to the map when it moves out of Early Access. The extra 10% discount (on top of the already 20% on it whilst it is under EA) being offered on the map is for folk who have pre-ordered the Mosquito, but have not yet purchased the Channel map up to now. So if you pre-order the Mossie you'll get 30% pre-order discount, if you then buy the Channel Map you would get 30% discount on that too. Good deal if you ask me. It's also a good way to up the sales of the map, get more folk into DCS WW2, and hopefully get ED to invest a bit more in development of WW2 in general.
  14. Stunning screen shots. The detail is incredible! Notice how every aircraft has a navigator on board now. Anyone confirm what map that is? Last time I was this wanting of a module release was the Spitfire IX way back... I can't remember when now!
  15. I'm going to wait until the module is released into EA before making any decision to buy extra axis controls. I want to have a good look at how it's set up in the control bindings first and fly it whilst playing around with different throttle and prop pitch settings and see what effects it actually has in roll and yaw etc. in sim. I have a Warthog throttle and fly exclusively in VR so if I can cobble something together that works with what I've got now that'll do.
  16. It's late today.... EDIT :- Just posted over on ED Discord by NineLine, No Mossie Monday video today. He isn't sure when the next one will be.
  17. I didn't know this. I've got the F18 but obviously use both warthog throttles for their respective engines, so never had the need to look further for other options. Is there a modifier so you can control the right or left engine individually with the same axis, then both at the same time when required? It's this modifier for the single axis control we will desperately need on the Mosquito for prop pitch imho. In normal flight have the single axis set to control both left and right prop pitch (RPM), then if one engine gets hit, use the modifier to switch axis control to the good engine only, and shut down then feather the damaged one. I think after having a quick flick through the pilots notes for a Mosquito (but not 100% sure as it was quick!) that the feather control is a push/pull button on the dash. Anyway I hope they have a modifier in place for this axis...
  18. I'm not too fussed about an axis for the mixture control either. What I would like options for is the prop pitch. I have a Warthog throttle and use the slider axis for the prop pitch control in the Spitfire which works great. But we will have two prop pitch control levers in the Mosquito, so there lies my problem. I hope ED implement some way of being able to control either the right or left or both levers at the same time with just one axis.
  19. And the Mosquito of course I read somewhere, it may have been a comment on a you tube stream when the Pre-order video released, BIGNEWY said a version of the Amiens raid will come with the module. I assume this to be in the single player mission list for the module. If we do get this mission on EA release then I would expect ED would have to release the update for the Channel map at the same time which will include the Prison target, maybe even winter textures for the map too!. Fingers crossed. I also believe Reflected is planning on doing a campaign for the Mosquito, in which one mission he said would be the Amiens raid, so hopefully plenty of options coming!.
  20. Good work, one thing though. You called Grp Cpt P.C. Pickard... Grp Cpt Pickering!
  21. Take a look at the introduction video here :- At 0:55 seconds into it you can clearly see two crew sat in it. Some clips show no nav and others show one. I assume this could be because the ones showing the nav are recent videos whereas earlier clips show none as it hadn't been developed at that time?
  22. Nice work Fenrir. Look forward to the update..
  23. It's on the north side of the main road (roman I believe) going from Amiens heading north east to the town of Albert. The road is called the D929 now and is almost dead straight. If you look at Google Maps you can see the prison as it is still in use today. However it's now completely surrounded with housing built since the war, but the prison itself still has the same unique crucifix shape to it. If you go onto street view you can actually see where the wall has been repaired after the raid in 1944! and see the memorial near the main gate. Just out of interest and to see if ED has "snuck" it into a recent update I jumped into a Spitfire on the Channel map and went for a look see. As reported the prison isn't there yet, but the road obviously is, heading north east almost dead straight towards Albert. I followed the road to Albert then headed home. Unfortunately I ran out of fuel half way across the Channel and ended up ditching two miles off Dover...but that's another story!
