  1. They might be ahead of the Hawk, I couldn't say as I don't own it. But how can you compare it to the L-39? If the L-39 gets released as planned with everything that ED listed in their pre-order page it already is leagues ahead. It's not a competition though.
  2. Uboats's right, the L-39C announcement page does states "Detailed modelling of the L-39 instruments, weapons, engine, radios, fuel, electrical and hydraulic systems" Besides: ;)
  3. Absolutely. But I'm more of a hope-for-the-best-prepare-for-the-worst kind of guy. :)
  4. About a month to wait though. That's bearable. If you got $40USD in bonus I think you deserve a -80% on the L-39 module.
  5. I guess it's because it's on pre-order bonus price currently. I think you'll be able to us it when it gets back to the full $49.99 release price.
  6. When are the "real" news update supposed to land? I like liveries as much as the next guy but I'm getting slightly worried about development pace and resources dedication, it has been 7 months, surely that calls for a bit more than paint jobs (as nice as they look). :) With the just announced L-39 that is about to get released in a bit more than a month from now and with working weapon systems, PFM, both cockpits useable, I feel the C-101 is in dire need of real under the hood update.
  7. Yeah, not judging anyone here, but if I knew it was a part time job I wouldn't have bought it back in January and instead would have waited until it's finished and released. I thought that we'd have the product very close to being finished 6 months down the line. I know what question I'll ask in the future about newcoming 3rd party modules.
  8. Well, they're not working full time on this, it's a spare-time project. Not that it means it will be any less quality of other full-time DCS projects, just that it's bound to be rather slow developement, I doubt it'll be out before the first iterations of the DCS world 2 especially considering dual cockpit only works in EDGE.
  9. Edge is the new engine, you can see it working through the new NTTR map that is being streamed almost every week now. Check the recent DCS World 2 livestreams. ;) http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2427620#post2427620
  10. Question for the next Stream about the new sound engine: In a multiplayer/cooperative environment, it would be great to be able to use the onboard radios as a VoiP, through the use of the correct radio and frequencies with a sound quality that is altered by the environment along with a radio sound effect filter, like . Is such a feature considered?
  11. I really enjoyed that stream, thank you! It's great to hear you guys are looking at some new tech to get the mountains and textures at higher resolutions. There's something off with the vegetation (tree, cactus), they look out of place. I'd say they're too saturated and contrasted in comparison to the background so they just pop right up instead of being part of the terrain. But it's great to see it's coming along nicely, things are really shaping up to be good, I'll still spend a lot of time in Georgia for sure but it'll be just so refreshing to fly around Nevada.
  12. Q: Can we expect ground operations to receive more attention through DCS World 2 such as ground vehicle modules (i.e DCS: T-90 or DCS: M1A2)?
  13. That's great news, thank you, it'll be interesting to see how the build develops and changes over the weeks.
  14. Absolutely, the bottleneck is the Rift's resolution. If you look through glasses that aren't made for you you'll see everything blurry, the quality of what you're looking at is almost irrelevant if you can barely make up your hands. It's disappointing to see the final version of the Oculus Rift will only be 2160x1200, that's not even 1440p...
  15. Thanks for the stream that was very nice. In my humble opinion it still isn't as pretty as the other Flight Sims out there (P3D, Xplane, FSX) but it's getting there! The Las Vegas part was really good looking, the trees and mountains not so much... The lighting is very nice though. Looking forward to more livestreams. :)
  16. yeah, if we ignore the nature of internet and assume everyone respects ED's wish, just keep in mind that they didn't say it won't be recorded and reposted, just that people who do first need ED's permission. I think it's just a safety net since it's a first time live stream, I can respect that. Wags, no pressure, do the stream at your own pace!
  17. yeah, I don't see how they can enforce that to be honest unless any viewer sign a NDA prior to accessing the stream. All I'm saying is that If one doesn't want something to be diffused across the web, one just doesn't post on the web, we all know whatever gets on the web stays there, nothing's ephemeral on the internet, it would be a bit naive to think otherwise and even more so to think you can enforce it. But hey, enough with the off-topic, personally I'm just here to enjoy the livestream and think it'd be nice to have it available for those who can't. Whatever I see, buggy or disorganized, I'm just happy to see it for what it is at this point in time. :)
  18. The first ever DCSW2 live footage, you can bet it'll get recorded ;)
  19. IIRC Wags stated that the mission builder won't change much. I don't see why it would to be honest, it's quite powerfull and you can get the hang of it after a few tutorials. May the 4th be with you all.
  20. With so much projects in the oven, and each of them being such a big change I guess it might be hard even for ED to shell out release dates. Software dev is all so random tbh, one day you go through a huge breakthrough that you thought represented 2 months of work while the next day you stump upon a bug that has your team sitting duck for a few weeks. I'd rather them not giving any date at all than to keep publicly pushing it back 6 months every 6 months. ^^
  21. Great stuff all around. Thank you for sharing it with us, I'm particularly excited about Combined Arms and how far ED can push its features and realism. Keep the midnight oil flowing, hopefully oil will turn to money and appreciation soon enough. :)
  22. Yup sorry for the short thread hi-Jack. I'm of course also eagerly awaiting the next Leatherneck Simulation news. ^^' Though personally I prefer that "We'll share things when there's things to share instead of on a schedule base" attitude.
  23. Oh okay thanks. I just like to read and discover things from the original post. :)
  24. I'm confused, where is the official newsletter post? I'm not seeing it posted anywhere.
  25. Great to see it's going well, especially the AFM. I particularly am excited for the effort put into radios modeling. Having the radio signal quality being modeled and influenced by the environment would be great. I long for in-game radios that allow for players to communicate with each other through the various radios as per the real thing. Maybe one day.
