  1. Faster HDD only improves on what an app is reading or writing from it. Arma 3 should load much faster on an SSD. Depending on the way they call textures it might or might not have an impact. Going from a HDD to an SSD won't improve the in-game fps of any game. That's more tied to the drawing capility of your GPU and the computing power of your processor. But to get back on topic, it's nice to see a few more lines being added on the changelog every now and then! Thanks for making it a bright red.
  2. P3D Version 3 is out tomorrow http://www.prepar3d.com/SDKv3/LearningCenter/what_is_new/new_v30.html
  3. I never tried the F-86 but as I understand it it means that you won't be able to reach as much angle of attack as before in the same amount of time, as a result it'll actually take longer to enter the aircraft into a stall. That means you should more easily understand and feel a stall coming and be able to correct it before you've lost all lift.
  4. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.
  5. Actually the SP and MP will be two seperate exe afaik. The rest is unified though.
  6. A NH90 would be great too. They're all such great helis. I think DCS could benefit greatly from having more utilitarian aircraft.
  7. When 1.5 gets downloadable I'm sure we'll get a nice subforum to report bugs, but could we get a thread that lists all of the known bugs/issues in one place? That'd be handy to know what to report and document and what to further investigate/replicate.
  8. Besides the 1.5 changelog, It's really nice to see all these modules getting fixed and improved along with A2A missiles see some further refinement. Huzzah!
  9. A new sense of immersion. To be more precise, I know it won't come right away but for some reason I'm really looking forward to new weather effect that matches nowedays new standards. That and the new sound architecture. https://youtu.be/rEtbAZdjN90?t=939
  10. Being proificient doesn't mean knowing all procedures by heart, don't be so hard on yourself. Just follow the checklists, like in real life. In fact, I'd say someone who still follows the step-by-step checklists is more proficient than someone who does everything by heart where a misstep might makes its way here and there every now and then.
  11. Personally That'd be the A-10C and the Ka-50. They're both such a joy to operate. DarkFire, if I may, you should fly the Huey for a few hours, there's no avoiding learning the basics of helo flying with this module, after that you'll feel the Ka-50 helps you stabilize the various control axes so well it feels like cheating. :) Then I jump every now and then on the the Su-25T and the various FC3 modules, mostly the Su-27 as I really like the Russian designs in terms of hardware and softwares, much more straight forward and logic imho. Simple, effective, reliable. The hardest part of the sim in my opinion aren't the modules, they're just tools we eventually master, the hard part is making the right tactical choices, learn to stay mindful of the surroundings and correctly assess the risk/reward ratio as to act in an efficient manner according to the various configurations. Imho. I never felt as much progress as when I started learning to recognize the various threats and their stats.
  12. The Tiger would be a top seller for sure, but I doubt anyone can pull it off. I'd pay quite a lot for this module if anyone did. What would I give for a Caracal though.
  13. Personally it wasn't the lack of communication that had me worried, only the lack of progress coupled with the consecutive excuse letters this year that led me to beleive the project was at a complete stall for so long. I don't mind waiting a while if I know a project is being actively developped. But I understand now as you made it clear you were struggling with internal issues. So that explains it, knowing that you have now resolved whatever was blocking you I feel releived and look forward to see the project getting developped further. Take all the time you need to get it right and thank you for allievating our concerns.
  14. I agree with you rajdary, being worried doesn't mean spreading negativity everywhere in order to try and hurt the devs and their project out of frustration. Thankfully that didn't happen here. I want to support this module, I want to support the devs along the way, at his point of developement though I just needed to express, like some others, my concerns. That's it really. We all just want the same thing, a great module to fly with.
  15. Same here the nose wheel steering isn't working, led is lit, pedals are working but it works as if the nose wheel steering were disengaged. So the rudders on the vertical stabilizers are actuating. Edit: restarted a new mission and it works back again. Seems like a random bug.
  16. I'm a very simple person, my expectations are directly linked to the price I paid for the product, I think that's a fairly common concept. If you realized you are being too sensitive about it maybe it's not the best idea to keep on posting over and over saying the same things again and again. We all heard what you had to say, you heard what I and others felt the need to express too. There's no need to talk about it for tens of paragraphs. We're not trying to change anyone's minds, nor will you. The one thing that everyone should agree on is that it's highly subjective. That's the real problem here. If there's anything at all that you should learn from this thread this is it. It's all very subjective, you have to learn to agree to disagree. :) It certainly isn't. Once more you fall into internet shortcuts and as a result you're telling us what is a good or a bad behavior when it comes to criticism while I hardly see anything in this thread that called for such a common sense lesson. I agree with you, I think it's safe to assume everyone in this thread shares your opinion too. I think most of us just expressed our concerns a couple of times and that was it. Then you showed up and had us talked about it over and over. The irony. You keep on using shortcuts, I don't know why you insist on seeing some of us as impatient uneducated brats. I agree with you, everyone here agrees with you on these things, there's no one here for you to teach theses things to. All of your comments are filled with common sense that you insist on telling us about, I'm glad you understand these things, I don't know if you're a white knight of sorts, but there's no evil around here. You're preaching the choir. We're not blind, we understand and respect your point of view, we simply disagree with it. Why can't you understand and respect ours? Did you read the part where the devs apologized for the great delay on the whole project and that the project has been suffering delays after delays for months on end due to internal problems? That's abnormal development, that raised concerns, the devs themselves agreed these issues thus far means they didn't meet ours and their own expectations. In my humble opinion our expectations were reasonable. I won't summarize and quote the devs and the updates we've had on the C-101 for the past 8 months in order to prove that point, because I think Aviodev have now resolved the big problems they were having and moved on, so are we.
  17. If you just comment out of a need to patronize and being ironic to people you won't be taken seriously. You insist on missing the point even though several people are gently exposing their position to you in a respectful and concise manner. We all expect delays and are well aware it's inherent to software developments as a lot of us are even software engineers, the issue here is that ever since the module got sold where we should have seen progress we've been handled excuses. Let me understand your way of seeing things: -People are complaining out of worry about the state of a module development that has been at a stall for months, -You tell these people they should instead be happy, grateful, supportive and that everything is fine -Dev answer the issue with a status update about how they're as frustrated and disappointed with the development problems as we are and as a result took actions to get things moving again -The lesson you get out of this is that people should expect delays and no one should buy into an early module if they aren't happy (whatever that means). Well, maybe my lesson learning skill is at fault but what I learnt from this is that if enough people express reasonable concerns then the company responsible for the project might take actions to resolve it sooner rather than later. Yet again you missed the point. The fact that they're working from their home and part time is completely irrelevant, they could work once every three days from a national park it'd be the same, how they do it is up to them, I'm just interested in the results. They charged the exact same price I paid for the modules made by full-time veteran developers. As such I have the same expectations, no where in the product page when I bought it was it mentioned "You buy this module knowing that you have to cut us some slack because we work from our home on our free time". In my opinion they are professionals, and if the portion of the module we've had our hands on thus far are anything to go by then I think it's safe to say they really are professionals. I choose to treat them as such. To each his own. I don't think anyone here that felt the need to express some concerns had at any time the pretension to talk in place of the majority. You'd do well to stay away from such internet shortcuts about vocal minorities and your habit of categorizing the constructive remarks from those whom vision differs from yours as "noise". Another point you missed, it has nothing to do with being correct, I'd humbly suggest you detach your rhetoric from your manichaeism in order to reach a more constructive debate. For someone who would have us less vociferous and more supportive towards the devs you seem to do quite a bit of condemning. Embody the lesson you are trying to teach. I'll just ignore your condescending comments as it brings nothing to the conversation and believe or not, I don't want to disrespect you in any way. I'll just say that you are Irony incarnated considering you've been hassling us all this time to go soft on devs while we just were being realistic yet here you are not being soft on us, just realistic. Personally I'm just happy the devs are as concerned as we are and that they've taken actions to get things moving again, that's all I wanted to hear.
  18. Yes, as long as it's done with respect, in a constructive manner and not spammed around at every occasion, there's nothing wrong with criticism. Some people will see it as offensive and disrespectful while others won't, it's all very subjective. I agree with you Aginor, there's nothing wrong with supporting the devs and being friendly. That doesn't mean we should all purposefully hide ourselves in delusion that closing our eyes, waiting and being overly kind to anyone would resolve everything. They're grown ups, they're professionals, they can handle it. As a result of these past few weeks talks we all got a response from the devs, it's yet another excuse letter than the project is still at a stall and various issues prevents the projects from going forward. It's reassuring to know they're as disappointed and as frustrated as us, if not more. That's not what we wanted to hear but at least they're being honest about it. These last couple of weeks talks have been a bit more vigorous about the delays and the various related concerns. Maybe it's a direct result of it or maybe not, but the fact is that a few days ago the devs "decided to set a new heading and make a change on team, so [they] can change the frustration and concerns for hope and motivation. So progress has start again, and [they] can put all [their] concentration on the right way.". It looks like they're finally moving forward with development as of last week, it doesn't mean it should alleviate any concerns but if truly what they say is already effective and not just wishful thinking on their end then it's progress that is worth praising.
  19. Thank you for being honest about it and taking the time to explain things a bit. I'm once more disappointed with yet another delay letter after all these months but I'm also glad to hear you took actions to resolve whatever issue was keeping the whole project at a stall. I look forward to enjoying your finished C-101, surprise us all with your work, blow us all away and bring this aircraft's quality to new standards in this next DCS World 2 era we're all about to enter. Good luck to all of Aviodev
  20. Exactly. It digresses. That's why I try not to get into such exchanges, a lot of people can't understand that it's about sharing your point of view and opinions. That it's not about trying hard to change people's mind and make them understand your way of seeing things is the only right one that should be treated as facts. I understand people like NeilWillis that are 100% happy with the situation and feel such concerns and critics absolutely invalid and uncalled for, that's not how I see things, not even close, but I respect that point of view nonetheless. I hope it works both ways.
  21. Great tones indeed, it does look quite authentic and immersive, it surely is coming along nicely. Nice work and thanks for the update.
  22. You're absolutely right and I know it's not really fair to ED and Razbam that are showing steady progress and solid updates regularly. I trust them to release solid product and will definitely buy the L-39, the Nevada Map and the M2000C once they're complete, but I'm not taking any chances anymore, I don't mind waiting a year or two, ironically. :) But hey, maybe AVIODEV will surprise us all this month with an improved C-101, the CC and the EFM.
  23. I wish I had known that when I paid $42 for this module 9 months ago. Of course harassing them for updates isn't constructive nor will it help get things done faster, thankfully everyone is being polite and considerate, but I'm not sure the passive "leave them alone and don't hold them accountable for anything" attitude is the right one either. It'd be nice to know in what state the team and the development is. We all understand delays. Still, on a personal level, that module stained my DCS World enthusiasm and the C-101 development state is the sole reason I didn't support and pre-order the ED Nevada map and the Razbam Mirage 2000C (as badly as I wanted to) and will instead wait for the released product.
  24. My mistake, External yes. I always want it to mean "Enhanced" for some reason. I didn't know AFM was exclusive to Eagle Dynamics.
  25. Advanced Flight Model, External Flight model and Professional Flight model. They're all about similar or different depending on the amount of work the devs put on it. I think only ED are allowed to use the term PFM though. It's called M-2000C because the Mirage 2000 has been developed in many variants, the M-2000C being the base of all. "DCS: Mirage". There's a lot of other Dassault Mirage aircraft other than the 2000. Hence the specific naming.
