M-2000C for DCS World by RAZBAM - Available for Pre-Purchase

You're right, I've completely missed that. Opening text wall are usually usual PR texts or trademark/legal stuff so my brain just ignores it. Thanks for pointing it out. -
M-2000C for DCS World by RAZBAM - Available for Pre-Purchase
Vivoune replied to MemphisBelle's topic in M-2000
I've promessed myself not to buy into any DCS early modules anymore but I just wanted to say that if I hadn't I'd be all over this Mirage, it looks gorgeous and well done. Congratulation, I hope the sales goes well and I very much look forward to buying your product on release. In regards to the magnificent promotional trailer, is it edited? There seem to be quite a few effects added, blurriness and camera shaking for example. Also the sound, it's the sort of jet engine sound that tears its way through the sky that we've all been hoping for in DCS for quite some time now. Is it really in game or just... edited too? As far as I recall I think the Exocet won't be modeled. Sadly. -
Indeed, the current sweet spot in terms of bang for bucks is definitly the GTX 970. Try to get one on the second hand market. One good graphic card is always better than to SLI two average cards. A lot of games aren't coded to take full adventage of SLI or Xfire, it'll consume much more power than a single more powerful card, SLI or Xfire can often raise configuration issues.

Pre-Purchase NEVADA Test and Training Range
Vivoune replied to KEULE's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Personally I'm spoiled by other (civilian) flight sims that uses photo realistic tricks all over the globe. But DCS uses a different tech that allows for a much better experience on closer distances and a better LOD. There are indeed no choices here, only compromises. And I agree with you ggerman, I've seen real life shots that look quite similar to the current distant NTTR mountains, it was on very specific angles, light and weather conditions though but it was spot on. I don't think anyone said the current mountains are terribly out of place, just that there's room for improvement, which is also quite subjective. I don't mean to go OT but damn, the GPU and more importantly the CPUs research and progression has been such anemic that it's a miracle or rather a proof of ED's savoir-faire that they've been able to come up with such improvements given how nothing has changed since Sandy Bridge 5 years ago... -
Pre-Purchase NEVADA Test and Training Range
Vivoune replied to KEULE's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Yes in that case I understand and agree with you. ^^ That said I've been faced with the same defensive reaction last year after a comment on a newly released NTTR video. It was the first time I criticized these mountain's resolution with all due respect, it also was and still is to this day the last time I spoke of it for reasons I cant talk about here. Anyway I'm very much looking forward to ED further refining their technology. Personally after the Aviodev C-101 I promised myself not to buy into any pre-order or alpha modules unless I see it's getting near completion. A few months ago though I'd have bought a copy of the NTTR map for me and another for a friend as I'm already plenty satisfied with how NTTR looks and feel as it is, that doesn't mean I'm not hoping for it to get even better over time. :) So many great things to come in this DCS world. -
Pre-Purchase NEVADA Test and Training Range
Vivoune replied to KEULE's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
They're just saying they hope, like many others, that it keeps on getting better by pointing out area of the development that would benefit from further refinement the most in their opinion, which in this case happen to be the mountain's resolution. I don't understand why you often get so defensive about these mountain's resolutions. No inappropriate criticism has been expressed nor offensive premature and final judgement has been passed. We all know ED are doing their best, and we all know it will only get better as they develop it but just because everything is subject to change doesn't mean all constructive feedback is irrelevant or premature. In my humble opinion. :lookaround: -
Pre-Purchase NEVADA Test and Training Range

Welcome around :) I'd get a DCS module. You're new and even after years of playing the Caucassus map still has plenty to offer and all campaigns of all modules are exclusively on it. If you like Flaming Cliff aircrafts and would like to get a bit more serious or go further into the hobby getting the Nevada map isn't the next logical thing to do. Especially since it won't be released before the end of the year, in an early alpha state and without any campaigns before some time. I would advise you to get either DCS A-10C Warthog or Blackshark 2. Both of these modules are fully simulated cockpit/systems best sellers and fantastic modules that you can enjoy for hundreds upon hundreds of hours right now on the caucassus map and in the near future once the Nevada map gets released. When the Nevada map gets released in a few months from now (probably a year or more from now in a more finished and complete state) I'm sure you'll be able to afford it long before then. -
Hey there present A-10 pilot, I just want to say I'll be there to escort your flight and cover your CAS from above. Looking forward to this Murage 2000C. :v:

How do I install DCS world 2, I just bought it but I don't see it in game? They made a mistake in the NTTR map, it says "Murrage"! When does it come out? Can it work on my system? I like pandas Will it work on Steam? What about tree collision now? Do we have to rebuy the game? But I prefer koalas Hey, Sith, maybe a quick FAQ might be nice somewhere on the forum on DCS World 1.5/2.0 and NTTR. I fear a lot of time will be spent answering the same things over and over over the next few months. Pardon the off-topic suggestion :pirate:
-
I can understand the confusion for newcomers though. We are getting DCS 1.5 this month which is the new engine, aka EDGE, DCS 2.0 being essentially simply the Nevada map that's added on top of it, which happens to actually not be included in DCS World 2.0, so logically it is correct to claim DCS World 2.0 isn't free. :D

"We've got some big, good news coming soon regarding the NEVADA Test and Training Range Map" What. A. Tease! :bounce:

So what improvements Will dcs world 2 have for CA?
Vivoune replied to oscar19681's topic in DCS: Combined Arms
I didn't spend a lot of time playing CA, but I never regretted investing in it just for the huge potential it has and the whole new dimension it brings to DCS as a whole should that potential be met. I can't wait for CA to get an overhaul. Afterall, it's solely because of what's happening on the ground that we get up in the air. -
From a page ago guys.

I'm not aware of any official statement on the matter. Most likely yes, they are in the process of developping this new PACE technology that would allow them to do better effects such as explosions, weather, grass, clouds etc. We can't really expect them to tell us about every single effect they plan on doing but I think it's safe to say tracers will be looked at.

PRE-PURCHASE DCS: L-39 ALBATROS Discussion Thread
Vivoune replied to terence44's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
I don't know about any official statement on the matter but if there's only native language available you can be sure in a relatively short time that a mod will come up to give the english cockpit option much like it happened for other aircraft in DCS. ^^ That said, learning a bit of cyrillic is fun and handy nowedays! -
PRE-PURCHASE DCS: L-39 ALBATROS Discussion Thread
Vivoune replied to terence44's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Indeed, I hope that at some point the artists will be given the opportunity to bump up the other already released modules to these latest standards. Really pleased with the L-39 model and texture. -
I'd love DCS Soldier with the animation and graphic fidelity of an Arma game. But I believe before we get there it might be more interesting to "flesh out" the bigger battlefield elements like the Navy and Vehicles. Can you imagine having all the birds we have now plus those that are in progress (F-16 etc) working in conjunction with (or against) actual DCS players manning tanks and other vehicles that are DCS level in terms of cabin and simulation? Imagine a few DCS: Abrams players leading their cavalry regiments with the support of a few DCS A-10 pilots and DCS F-16 players catapulted from a Combined Arm player controlled aircraft carrier that supervise the whole operation from his satellite feedback. -I believe Tanks should be the next thing to develop if it has to happen (I wish). -I also believe a few of modules should be developed on the logistic side (DCS level air refueler, multi purpose transport aircraft, vehicle logistics or recon, AWACS etc) I'd love to have less combat oriented modules that would allow us to support rather than always fight fight fight. Besides that doesn't mean infantry is completely left out, we can already play and move anti-air soldiers for example, it's extremely ugly and clunky, but it's there!

Well I totally understand why you or others would feel that way and I'm glad you can feel that way. If I were a new comer with all the modules to discover and just bought the 101 module at 70% off I'd be perfectly fine with how things are going. Other people have different expectations and interests that results in disparate patience threshold. That doesn't mean other people's positions and feeling on the matter are invalid or inappropriate. These are concerns, doubts and worries that merely call for updates and a chance from the devs to alleviate discontent that I think after 8 months of mostly delays and excuses isn't premature or inappropriate. I believe the current state of the project is bound to raise some discontent that some, like me, feel the need to express. And that's done in the utmost respect. :) I'm dealing with clients and deadlines everyday, I know that I don't need people to add some pressure on me as I already put enough on myself should a job take more time than expected, I didn't write that to make the devs feel bad, I just needed to get across the board my displeasure as I believe that being contemplative and adulate the Avio team every time they spoke a word regardless of what it says isn't being too healthy either to the project's pace. I realize that despite trying to carefully choose words and throwing a few smiley here and there, any spoken concern on the internet can easily be seen as nonconstructive entitled criticism raised from immaturity or impatience. I assure you that's not the case. I'm well aware that delays are inherent to software development and that dates are as a result only estimation. My issue is about the lack of new information on the project's advancement, since January what we most have been updated with are internal issues that prevent the project advancement. I consider myself a rather patient person and thought that's subject to everyone's subjectivity I bought into this project in the premise that it'd be done in months and not in years. I really hope they have a substantial product update scheduled for this month's big DCS 1.5 release.

PRE-PURCHASE DCS: L-39 ALBATROS Discussion Thread
Vivoune replied to terence44's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
I'll be using these last screenshot release as an occasion to ask something that has been on the back of my head for some time. The L39 is looking particularly gorgeous compared to other aircraft in DCS. Is it due to superior model/texture work or is it mostly thanks to the updated engine (that other modules maybe just don't have the chance to advertise with)? I have to say the L-39 cast quite the shadow on other modules as a result. It really is a beautifully crafted product. -
Personally I was pleasently surprised to see they implemented such wind sound effect. In a cockpit a lot of the sound comes from the wind, the electric systems and ventilation, that is often either completely overlooked or heavily cut down in favor of a more 'dramatic' engine sound. There's a lot of room for improvement, but I hope in the end we get a rather authentic experience instead of what users feel it should sounds like. ^^ Proper quality sound deisgn is so very important for immersion.

So the C-101 module's beta got released on January this year with, and I quote, "the C-101EB model now complete, with the light attack C-101CC version close behind." with "the Beta of the C-101CC scheduled to be released by the end of February 2015" and finally the Advanced flight models being already in development to follow. As it turns out development didn't go too well considering in June we've been told "that the last couple of months has been complicated for the team". In July this summer we've been told that you would be telling us all the progress that are being made on the EB and CC version. And be gradually giving us information about upcoming updates. Yet 7 weeks later we're well into September and all we got was a few skins. Now a few days ago we are told that due to yet more internal problems Aviodev is sorry about the general project being delayed. I don't want to come up as rude but I am seriously loosing faith in this project and in Aviodev capacity to deliver. At least to deliver in the near future, aka the year 2015. I was hoping you would post in depth news while DCS 1.5 beta is being released imminently and hoped for a massive C-101 update at that occasion but alas I doubt that will happen if the last 8 months are anything to go by. I don't feel entitled nor angry, but my patience just wore thin and considering all the news we get every couple of months are mostly excuses about internal problems my hopes have been replaced by frustration and disappointment. If ED would allow refunds I would have had my money back. I'm sorry, I hope I don't come up as offensive or impolite, but that's something I felt the need to convey.

Well, in terms of development, in the 8 months or so that this module has been for sale we were shown a few skins and weapon models. I think if there has to be a choice, it's an easy one. ^^
-
Nice Q&A video, thanks. Clear and concise informations. I hope the new PACE effect technoly is going well, it'll be so immersive to have all these new fancy weather, explosions, rain and grass effects. To name only those.

In terms of modern western aircraft I would avoid Aviodev, Veao etc. Get him finsihed and fleshed out products, god knows how long these products will still be stuck in developement. I'd get him the F-15C eagle, it's a good middle step between arcade sims and full clickable DCS cockpits. Everyone love such iconic shapes and it's only a couple of dollars when on sale, or about 10 otherwise.
