Leatherneck Simulations Monthly Update - Februamarch 2015
Wissam24 replied to Cobra847's topic in Heatblur Simulations
Really? I can understand it maybe being a good fighter but best looking? Not on your life. It's an ugly old thing! All flat and weird lines, ugly canopy! Are you serious? When compared to the likes of the Hunter, the Spitfire, the Mirage 2000, the Su-27? All gorgeous aircraft, and the Tomcat doesn't even come close to them. -

Personally I couldn't care less about the Tomcat (I don't see the appeal at all), I'd much rather have a Phantom or Viggen, but it seems a lot of people are enamoured with the Tomcat for some reason, so I hope they're made happy. -

If they'd waited until tomorrow, the digits of the date would've added up to 14! -
Just got mine from the post office - it's amazing. Didn't know how much I needed it until I had one. I got the 8cm one which i think give me enough travel for sure - it'll be perfect once I get a centre stick mount. Thanks!

MH434 is the Spitfire flown by the Old Flying Machine Company, who fly a Spitfire and Mustang in very tight formation aerobatics. One of the best warbird displays out there in my opinion. OFMC was founded by the famous Ray Hanna. What's exciting about these warbird modules (ED and VEAO) is that most of them are planes that people in the UK can actually go and see flying.
-
Mine does/did that by default already, although they need to be partially extended for it to work i.e. if they are fully extended or retracted, popping the switch into the middle will not move the handle into neutral, but it will if they are only partially extended.
-
Yeah, I'm having the same issues. Decent enough PC to play other DCS modules with comfortable FPS, but the 21 just falls off a cliff. Glad to see a bug has been identified and is being fixed!

I'm wondering if it's possible to assign the engine START and flaps to the TM Warthog in such a way that having the flap switch in the middle activates take off flaps. As it stands, it doesn't select it in the middle, as the Warthog is able to. I noticed the F-86F was able to do this by default, so I hope there is a way to work this. Likewise with the throttle, I can move them into the Off position to put the Dora throttle into idle, but have to press a switch to move it up again. I'd like to be able to activate it simply by moving it up on my throttle.

I really like this idea.

This is excellent, thank you! -
HUDs have increased in size since last patch
Wissam24 replied to Wissam24's topic in General Questions
Hi guys, reinstalling the mod solved the problem, cheers. -
I am now no longer able to see the entire HUD from my default view, where I was before. This has occurred on the F-15, Ka-50 and A-10C, I haven't checked the others. Obviously if I move my head forward I can see the full HUD, but this is impractical for obvious reasons. Is this a bug or is there an easier way to adjust it? Note, I use the neck mod.

AMD 7760 here, I have this too, but only at certain altitudes it seems, doesn't happen on the ground. It's external too

I don't recall ever having to do that before. -

Not working with Freetrack? -
So I paid for Everything at the $40 level, plus a hard copy of the game’s air combat strategy and tactics manual, and spiral-bound copies of complete aircraft manuals for two flyable aircraft in the game. And now I'm not getting that? Not happy at all. It's not financially attainable for you to meet the backer rewards system? You shouldn't have allowed RRG to go ahead with the Kickstarter then. Not happy one bit.

What exactly is the flight director? Not heard the term before.
-
Agreed, it doesn't sound anything like a real Merlin engine. Plus, I'd love to hear the dive whistle!
-
Weeelll...bear in mind that the Huey and Sabre are pretty simple aircraft compared to the likes of the Mig-21 and even the Hawk - No HUD, little in the way of avionics or aircraft systems to model. The Mi-8 is a fair bit more complex - but that's still in beta and has been for what, 6 months? And on top of that, they also have access to the same resources (I assume) as ED. So it's not suprising their output rate is high compared to 3rd party developers who have to pretty much literally start from the ground up.
-
Please make an ETPS one, your one is great on the Mustang. Edit: By the way, I noticed on that scheme that the red panels on the wings don't quite match up with their respective grooves. Also the DHFS Huey packs are missing helmet textures on the inside.
-
So it did. Wow it had a hell of a lot of them too, 420 odd. I had no idea the RAF operated the Sabre in such large numbers.
-
I didn't think the RAF operated the Sabre? Either way, I'd love to see a fictional ETPS livery, gotta be one of the smartest schemes around and I adore it on any airframe.
-
Given that the Gnat was known as the Sabre-killer, I reckon its successor would probably do alright.
