  1. Failing to be funny about this, but everytime I look at the map :( While I do look forward to it, I also do hope there will be some other regions soon.
  2. What kind of missions are people thinking of making? Kinda hard to imagine a whole enemy army in the vicinity of nevada, but maybe some terrorist threats is believable.
  3. Yeah but someone using teamspeak can easily spread the word also.
  4. AI could easily be multi-threaded and finally bring some firepower to this game. The only thing AI needs to do is follow rules to make decisions, it's WAR ffs. Think about this, sometimes humans are slow so decisions are made slowly, but the computer is working hard to isolate the correct decision. In some ways they are equal. Computers lack sensory input, which is what most of the human brain interprets, but computers take their time to read large sets of data that are the result of simulated sensory input. What computers are no good at is reflex-like decision making, but something like this is important in this game, so the computer cheats. It knows where everything is, and what everything is doing in relation to the simulation entities current tasks. So the AI logic only needs to isolate behavior based on rules to simulate a "real human pilot" or whatever.
  5. Can't save the cockpit lighting settings or formation lights.
  6. Maybe not the best, but if you are flying that low to start with, you were most likely in a dive prior, so popping CMS and pulling up is somewhat effective, if the missile is on the 6. Ilgas are troublesome, been hit a lot but just keep trying.
  7. Right, converging on the target to compensate for drift. But maybe the flight dynamics prevent this if the windage is too high.
  8. It has to be aware of it's course obviously, but it cannot predict the wind or changes of.
  9. I suppose so, I noobingly dropped them early
  10. I have seen it happen. My JDAMs missed at 16000 and I checked STR info after the fact and the windage was 18 across at least. The target was a ammo bunker (the big one) so it's safe to say the bomb was off. The bomb's nose is always aiming for the target point, but the wind is constantly pushing it away. It is also building velocity in the dive, so less room for correction closer to the ground. It doesn't "fly sideways" like the hog does :) It could also have been different tiers of wind velocity.
  11. High winds can affect JDAM accuracy. If you can, avoid heavy crosswinds from high altitude.
  12. So that video is some kind of cinematic? Are you sure? Maybe you are missing a few options tho.
  13. This looks 10 times better than AC. Thanks for the heads up.
  14. I have made one for use with A10C which highlights the major graphical settings and dynamic weather. Still a WIP though, it's basically flying into Novo from the coast to a small engagement area to fire guns and illumination flares.
  15. Right, then a higher res would lower your FPS. Only real solution is to upgrade to a more beasty card.
  16. Yes you need to run at higher res to see stuff. The objects can be drawn further away, but if they are sub-pixel in perspective, essentially invisible. If you have a good GFX card, resolution makes little impact to FPS.
  17. Maybe if you are landing on a giant piece of ice  God knows what would happen IRL, most likely a terrible accident. Is this thread for real? Landing without wheels??? :flyover: :helpsmilie:
  18. Thanks, I liked the back to basics presentation.
  19. Hopefully rollback is not necessary, right? I am experimenting with graphics settings currently, I may post a small guide on how to improve FPS without too much quality loss. Keep an eye out in the A10C forum for it.
  20. I use the keyboard to trim so here is my experience... Fine trimming is easier at higher altitude, although I think this is illusory because the thin air actually makes the control surfaces slower acting. But it should be possible to needle in between, easier. Almost all flight controls, when using the keyboard, are slewed so they respond in a linear way. I have noticed the ailerons will snap back to "default" position almost immediately, but moving them out, the movement follows a linear ramp like motion. This causes some jerkiness when releasing a key. I think it also upsets the attitude of the aircraft some. The finest control I have been able to accomplish using keys has been very fine. But it is not easy, and I hate it :) Keyboard spring factor is the bottom line, yeah. How does a flight stick's hat switch work? I have had one joystick and it clicked into activation, and I think holding it there would "repeat" just like a keyboard repeats. Maybe finer control could be had by not repeating the input on a hat switch, or repeating it at a slower rate. I think what we need to know is the minimum possible change to control surfaces per input.
  21. Use rmdir to delete a directory junction
  22. The easiest way to move ANY program directory and guarantee it works, is to move the directory to the new drive, and in the same place as the old directory make a Directory Junction that points to the new location. A Directory junction is like a shortcut that is invisible to the system. To do it all you need to do is move the directory then: mklink /J oldpath newpath Type mklink /? for help
  23. I noticed that graphics.cfg is now graphics.lua, and I think the one I have is default currently. How do I clear all the changes I made to graphics settings?
  24. Sorry, I don't know how the terrain data works. Thought it might have required reverse engineering ED's IP.
