But it is possible to do better than they've done. Again, watch the tacview at the end of the first video. It is incontravertible.

For those that fly the bf109 and dora
gavagai replied to GR00VYJERRY's topic in DCS: Fw 190 D-9 Dora
The 109 is good for dueling, which is what most online combat is because of the pathetically low attendance.... But if it's a simulation of WW2 combat, where both sides have multiple aircraft, and there is a possibility of coordinated tactics, then the 190D-9 is the clear choice. The 109 can barely maneuver at 600kph indicated, while the Dora maneuvers like a feather at that speed and beyond. -
Watch the tacview in the first video again. The missile never selects chaff. It gets notched, and when he turns hot the missile wakes up and goes straight for the chaff that is far behind him. It is not logical because it is his turning hot that wakes up the missile, but instead it goes for his chaff which is still on his old notching-trajectory. The rhetoric and insulting going on (in another thread mostly) obscures the issue, but the behavior is obviously a bug.

So much pathos in this thread... Thank you for the videos, which speak for themselves. Let's hope it is fixed soon.

Yes, it seems so. You have to adjust them separately.

[NO BUG] AIM120:countermeasure spoofing returned to the old value, Why??
gavagai replied to wumas0201's topic in Weapon Bugs
Pilots also do a lot of BVR training. Basic idea is that if you let the enemy get inside of MAR you have f'd up. I have flown a lot of the "other" sim and the 120 and AA-12 are far more deadly there. You can't screw around the way you can here. None of us really know which is more correct, and the only people who do know are not allowed to say. -
Su-30MKK Full fid or FC3 version?
gavagai replied to TaxDollarsAtWork's topic in Deka Ironwork Simulations
It would have better radar, better data link, better RWR, better weapons. Those of us who have faced it in BMS know to fear it. Our Su27 is like an F16A. Good beginning, but a lot of room to improve. -
SharpeXB wins the argument. Any single player campaign mission should ramp start because you can always auto start afterward. Telling someone to edit a paid campaign for rampstarts is not acceptable.

Just testing out this script for the first time and trying to replicate the youtube intro... No specification about whether the ground units should be set to delayed activation or not, so I have tried both. Either way the ground units proceed toward their objectives very haltingly... They stop for no reason and then creep a few more meters every 15 minutes or so. -- BLUE UNITS autogft_Setup:new() :addBaseZone("BlueBase") :addControlZone("Objective2") :addControlZone("Objective1") -- RED UNITS autogft_Setup:new() :addBaseZone("RedBase") :addControlZone("Objective1") :addControlZone("Objective2") Mission Start trigger does the autogft script file, then the above script. I have 4 zones on the map with the names above. Red and blue each have 4 tanks that start in the base zones. One of the things that would be nice to have is a miz file that corresponds to each of the demo scripts, just for the sake of a sanity check. -------------------- Watching the tanks with F7 view, they go completely dumb during these halting phases. One moment the tanks can be within range of each other and they're fighting, then all of a sudden they stop and become uncontrolled. test.miz

Wow, this is going to take some getting used to.

Your favorite jet has ECM? Lucky you! Some have been waiting years for it to be implemented...:music_whistling: -
[OPINION, NO EVIDENCE] Wake Turbulence Too Strong?
gavagai replied to Sordsman's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
I've heard from a rl Viper pilot that the effect is overdone. That said, I'm confident the effect will be changed and improved with time. ED adjusts this kind of thing until they get it right. -
@diogofalcao Then hire some teenager to do it for you! :) Again, we have a black pilot skin in the game already (in the wrong P-51 but...), just not in a jet.
-
You paid for the product, now you're asking for something additional that wasn't part of the deal. Lots of us have families and jobs. It's just a matter of how important it is to you to learn how to make the skin yourself. I actually prefer tha it is left to us. That way we don't end up paying extra for it.

Repeated calls from various ATC to "Hold Position"
gavagai replied to melchionda's topic in Multiplayer
ATC is dumb, that's why. Just tune your radio to a different channel and you should no longer hear it. -
It is a great module!
-
Here is the irony. One of the few black pilot skins we have in the game sits in a 334th FS P-51. Wrong squadron, wrong fighter group, wrong air force (8th vs. 9th). But someone clever should be able to move his (head) texture to the pilot textures of other aircraft where the face is visible, no?
-
But you are approaching it like some kind of RPG. Nothing happens in a week in this game's development. In flight sims we have a tradition of adding things ourselves when want something in the sim. People make aircraft skins, they build missions and campaigns, code in lua (ffs!), all to bring their vision to reality. I hear that right now you can reskin a pilot, so get to it! You can also create custom voices and share them with the community. This is all comes down to motivation level...

It was a explained to me: P&W: much more likely to have trouble, if it flames out you can probably restart it GE: no trouble, but if it quits it's dead

[NO BUG] AIM120:countermeasure spoofing returned to the old value, Why??
gavagai replied to wumas0201's topic in Weapon Bugs
Why do you call that a red herring? Pointing out a coincidence like that and leaving it to the reader to draw the conclusion, well, that might be something nefarious, but it's not a red herring. -
Thanks, always interesting to see what others have done.

1. you can do your own thing 2. Not necessary, but helpful. Some servers will have human gci occasionally and you won't hear them without SRS. SRS is a little application that allows for voice communicaiton using the in-game radios. 3. If they don't want you there they'll have the server password protected. 4. Not a problem. Just please don't crash into people on the taxiway and you'll be golden. 5. It's just which version of DCS they're running, stable or open beta. I think a majority of servers run open beta.

That's right! Incompetent male ATC needs to have incompetent female ATC too! This is clearly bias against men.:music_whistling:
