  1. Oh yeah, nothing suspicious about some of the third party modules... nothing to see here.:shifty:
  2. Yes, it is cheating. ED will say that the AI uses the same flight model as the player, but that claim is demonstrably false. All the AI does is loop. It loops and loops and loops. Flying against other humans is much more fun. They don't have perfect SA like the AI, and they fly less predictably and are subject to the same limitations as you.
  3. Not even in 2021. I'm really curious why the Hornet is getting HMD improvements while the Viper is not.:music_whistling:
  4. I guess it is OK if you want to fly against bots.:music_whistling:
  5. Not really. If you can, return for credit and use the money to get something good. The F-15 flies like a toy and the Russian planes are simply out-matched by all the new NATO planes. Once you have a full fidelity module you won't look back.
  6. @darkman222 It is too a problem. They might not be losing a fight, but they are switching slots because they are out of missiles/ammo, their jet is damaged, and so on.
  7. I was wrong. Your 30% estimate is not the exaggeration I thought it was. Just to see I spectated to see what people do, and many exit their slot to immediately get a new jet whenever they like. Wow.
  8. It is not 30%. Nowhere close to that. 5% is enough to be extremely annoying, though. see comment in next post. I don't think there is any game genre where it is OK to just abandon your role when you are about to die. The irony is that it is the "arcade" games that do a better job of preventing this kind of crap. The developers anticipate bad behavior and so do a better job of preventing it. Whatever exploits can be used will be used in a multiplayer game. That has been true since I first started playing games online in the 1990s. This is also why a lot of DCS multiplayer just takes place between friends who know each other. Being on voice with other players takes away the annonymity that primes the bad behavior. But abandonning the slot is not the only exploit I see. The 60 second suggestion is a good start but I also see stuff like.... Attacking someone who air-starts the moment he spawns into his aircraft Cratering the active runways when it is not a mission objective Very unbalanced team ratios with people unwilling to switch Maliciously blocking taxiway chokepoints to preven others from reaching the runway Intentional team killing / team ramming ED leaves it up to the community to provide solutions, but a little help from the developer would be nice. So, yeah, +1.
  9. As DCS grows its player base you have to anticipate that some new players will be like that.
  10. I wish we could have every map we want and every plane, I do. But if I have to choose I'm going with one complete planeset for one theater before a scattershot of the whole war. Someone will make something random though, don't worry. We already have an I-16...:suspect:
  11. This. They haven't finished delivering the kickstarter aircraft yet, not even in early access.
  12. Exactly what we need to flesh out the WW2 planeset we already have.
  13. He's not coming back because he thinks his "bug" report was such a zinger.
  14. You are better off with standalone.
  15. Had that bug some months ago, went away on its own after updating my gpu driver. ymmv.
  16. To be clear, I'm not saying it is ED that is irrational...:music_whistling:
  17. Would be a nice fix. At the same time, the multiplayer interface is circa 1997 or something. Haven't played the new Il-2, but Rise of Flight had a really nice system for that. You enter, see the briefing and map, and then click on an airfield to see what you can fly from it.
  18. You are right, it is not just one thing, but it is the whole picture. @Fri13 It's more likely the secrecy was precisely to conceal how far behind they were lagging. Any cockpit can have MFDs. It's the sensors they're connected to that matter.
  19. If they were secretive then the Mig-29 would not be so widely exported. It might be classified, but let's be clear that this is not a rational process.
  20. There is no ray-tracing in DCS. Anyway, this framerates drop happens even if you look away from the radar so it is not in your field of view. Just turning it on is sufficient.
  21. Nothing should win against the F14 in a guns duel right now. That thing out-turns every other jet, and can out-climb most, too. Fly something else in a duel for a challenge, or only duel other F14s. That is the drawback of a server like JDF. It is fun, but very often is a game of exploiting the flight models or damage models.
  22. The DCS F16 will see that control input latency reduced in a future patch. There is supposed to be some latency, just not that much.
  23. Boilerplate advice. Most of us have very little experience with BFM against the JF-17, and even fewer people own the module. If you know something specific please share.
  24. The response time is too slow in both axes, pitch and roll (fbw thing). Pretty sure ED is aware and updates are coming. In the future the g onset rate will be faster.
