  1. Somewhere between now and the end of the universe.™ a DCS newsletter said first half* of this year, but since theres less then a week to go i highly doubt it. Later this year hopefully.
  2. Swedish Air Force Historic Flight (the guys that will be at that show in Austria) will be at many shows this summer. Their entire program is available here: http://swafhf.se/flygprogram.html
  3. Excellent question, i'd like an answer to this as well.
  4. Sounds good! :)
  5. 1:72 And yeah, countermeasure pod seems like a no brainer for most missions, just wish it could be carried on the central pylon but i doubt it :)
  6. Since somebody posted their model, heres my dusty Viggen. This is not a build of mine however, its a simple die cast model. Can't wait to fly this in DCS :joystick:
  7. I know about it, but don't care. Jokes like that in the current circumstances are extremly poor taste.
  8. 06-06-2016, 06:21 AM :music_whistling:
  9. Thanks for the clarification Cobra.
  10. This forum has basicly devolved into "a triangle has 3 sides so therefor illuminati" so it would be good if Cobra clarified whats going on and what the current plans are, even if the news aren't good.
  11. The problem is the setting, its either modern or WW2/Korea and therefor wouldn't fit for both.
  12. Nice theory, but seems a bit far fetched.
  13. I don't see it being worth it, it doesn't add much to the game and is as Cobra847 said, a TON of work for the developers. I would buy the shit out of a modern Bison capable of firing R-77's however.
  14. Whats needed imo is this: - Technicals of various types (DshK, SPG-9) - Better infantry overall with better animations and with a realistic damage model. - Better simulation of fragmentation effects from explosions. - Better simulation of partially knocked out vehicles, not is unit alive = true/false but rather mission kills where the crew abandons them for whatever reason. Example: A 250 kg bomb hits 15 meters to the right of a Ural truck, the truck gets peppered by shrapnel and although the crew is largely fine the engine block is dead. Crew abandons vehicle. Example 2: A BMP-2 gets strafed by S-5 rockets and get peppered by shrapnel, external optics is damaged, a track breaks lose from its drive wheels. Crew abandons vehicle. This isn't even hard to do, you don't need a complex damage model to simulate this sort of thing. If all the above is implemented, playing Light Attack, COIN & transport helicopters could be ton of fun! As it stands, they are not rewarding at all to play.
  15. Most things in the arms industry is political. You as Denmark just as Norway have membership in NATO which comes with its own political expectations. That also involves buying weaponry from within NATO and especially from the papa NATO, USA. I'm not saying that the F-35 will be a bad plane, but most purchases are political decisions rather then military ones. All non-american planes were always an underdog becouse of that. SAAB even dropped out saying that that the Danish contest was "Rigged to the point where only one winner was possible, the F-35"
  16. Yes that is correct, considering its age and type i would expect it to be close to useless against ground targets. Maybe somebody can correct me if i am wrong. Viggen was after the retirement of the Lansen the only anti-ship carrier in SwAF which had a strong focus on ASuW strikes. It performed this duty more or less from 1971 to 2005 and was the only ASM carrier between 1978 to the mid 90s.
  17. Im really hoping for a release of the Viggen soon, but not sure i'd hold my breath. It is way too quiet.
  18. Viggen, i'd buy a Viggen.
  19. I certainly hope it will be out soon, can't wait to fly it:joystick:
  20. They are, but that doesn't mean that it has to come along with the Viggen itself it could be added later.
  21. Not really relevant, but AFAIK Meteors are in service with the Swedish AF. 45 second lifespan makes sense, i see no issue here. You can't compare a Super 530 with an amraam.
  22. If only i had the money to replace my aging 670.
  23. If you are worried about percieved "russian bias" take the Su-27 out for a spin and experience the glorious soviet design of R-27ER.
  24. Tu-22M3 is beyond worth it due to a number of factors. 1. There is a distinct lack in WP/USSR planes being made as of late. 2. It is the first bomber ever in DCS. 3. It is the first cruise missile carrier. 4. It is the first WP/USSR anti-ship missile carrier. 5. It can also do SEAD strikes. 6. It is a very cool multi-crew plane.
