  1. Also, consider the goggle option from VR-lens.com. It's kept up with my journey through 4 or 5 HMDs. I actually bought the CV1 inserts and thought "hmmm, this bespoke solution won't scale!" :)
  2. I'm glad the fix is in the works. I'm just glad i had the backup that I could fall back to. I'll play in the 1809 world until the fix is available and then boot into 1903. But thanks for the earlier heads up, or I wouldn't have gotten my rig to 1803 while waiting for the Reverb. And to be fair, it's reasonable that someone would not believe everything online (on steam/reddit). I wouldn't take it as a personal affront.
  3. I *do*. But, the clarity is on a whole new level. And the FOV is better than Rift CV1. So I can live with it. So I had said before I got the Reverb that I hope the visual clarity makes up for lack of FoV. And that turns out to be the case.
  4. I didn't change the file yet.
  5. They don't charge until they ship, so there's really no harm in ordering.
  6. How to disable Active Protection: https://kb.acronis.com/content/60190 Services to kill: https://kb.acronis.com/content/60222/ One final thing. If you need to grab a file, just double click on the backup file and you can grab individual files from it. Also, I set my back OPTION, Advanced, to validate the backup after the backup. Small price in time for a piece of mind.
  7. That's C:\users\Your_User_Name\Saved Games.... Also, if you make a change to the default, you'll end up with diff.lua files. Those you can't modify.
  8. Have a look at TM new rudders. They are "combat/F16" style so it takes very little room.
  9. If you decide to go that route, post here. I'll give you the KB article that shows you what to turn off. And that's exactly how I use it. Full backup on demand. And Restore whichever. Their universal boot/restore is pretty good too.
  10. I don't know the answer to your question. But the way it connects, it's ready made to use wire-ties to secure it.
  11. shopblt.com thanks to forum member Nagilem's heads up. Look like their next batch of shipment is July 12th.
  12. I don't think the mappings are interchangeable.
  13. Yes, it improved. My test mission file with carrier, and planes 5 & 10 miles out are easier to spot. But I'll do an exhaustive review after I get done tweaking my settings. This was basically, plug it in and go slack-jawed with clarity. :D
  14. Not easily. I mean anything is possible with a CNC, and metal 3D printing. But I don't think that's what you're asking. And I know you said you don't prefer foot rudders. I don't know if it's cost thing or a convenience thing, but MFGs, Slaws, etc. do make wonderful rudders.
  15. Here's what I do with Acronis. I turn off everything but the manual backup process. I turn off malware protection, live backups, and I don't even schedule an incremental backup. I manually do a full backup. It's saved me right now because it looks like there is a WMR bug with 1903 vs 1809 version of Windows. And I've been booting back and forth between the two thanks to Acronis. What I *hate* about Acronis is that it won't let me get rid of the system tray icon. I *know* it's a small thing, but I hate when vendors assume I want something for my own good. And remember, I've turned all the services off and yet i can't get rid of the icon. This is all in Acronis 2018 version. I've used them for years and it works.
  16. But I will post a summary experience in the main thread. this way, it'll be easier for people to spot.
  17. My initial thought was that it had a decent sweet spot. And it's software only adjustment so you can't really change the physical focal point anyway. My IPD is 65 which is pretty much in the middle of the road, I believe. I'll make a point of looking a little off center and report back.
  18. Interesting. When I did what you did, DCS came up as a 2D app inside the WMR portal. I wonder if you got the WMR in Steam already installed? Do a search in Steam store and see if it says "install" or "use"
  19. that's a great through the lens shot. But one advice, try not to get so close to what you're filming. Try your best to do it from the seated position so everyone can get a feel for what it looks like from a seated-in-the-cockpit view. But it is crazy clear. LOL
  20. Ah, gotcha. I thought you had said there was not that much difference in clarity.
  21. Ah, gotcha. I tried the Reverb tonight I think i found my gen 2 HMD. Holy cow. Honestly, it's hard to convey the sense of immersion and the spatial awareness that you get with flight sim. It's breathtaking. I've waited 35 years for this. :D
  22. You might have another program like SnagIt or Windows' builtin Snippet tool, one OneNote mapped to those keys.
  23. Happens quite a bit with upgrades. The duplicate assignments I mean.
  24. I already have wrapped/wire-tied to the circle in the back. To be honest, it's a little easier to work with than the original Vive cables. That was horrendous. This isn't as nice as Rift, but it's workable.
  25. If there is, I haven't found it yet. I have 7 or 8 devices already.
