Entscheide dich doch erstmal dafür was genau du fliegen möchtest. Die F-18 ist eine Multirole Plattform und bietet dir ein reichliches Arsenal an. Du kannst damit also alles was DCS so zu bieten hat fliegen egal ob SEAD, A2G, A2A usw. Des Weiteren finde ich die F/A-18 leichter zu handhaben als die F-14 Tomcat. Das ganze Cockpit sowie die Systeme sind sehr intuitiv gestaltet und man lernt sehr schnell. Das FM ist auch einfach zu fliegen und ist gerade für Anfänger empfehlenswert. Die F-14 dagegen ist schwer zu fliegen und brauch etwas mehr Übung (das ist natürlich sehr individuell, je nachdem wieviel FluSi Erfahrung du hast), die Auswahl an Waffen ist auch begrenzt, zumindest ist die Auswahl nicht so groß wie bei der F/A-18. Auch sind die Systeme der F-14 natürlich etwas älter und brauchen vllt etwas mehr Zeit um sie zu verstehen, hat man aber erstmal begriffen wofür dieser oder jener Knopf ist macht es umso mehr Spaß sie zu fliegen, meiner Meinung nach (und das hat sich während der Beta Phase auch gezeigt als wir mit SME's (echten RIO's) zusammen geflogen sind) fühlt sie sich fliegerisch an wie ein echtes Flugzeug, man merkt einfach wie groß dieses Flugzeug ist und die Agilität kommt sehr authentisch rüber. ABER ich bin absolut kein Freund von Jester im Rücksitz und bin deshalb immer darauf angewiesen das jemand hinten sitzt, was das ganze aber noch spannender macht und viel Spaß bringen KANN. Beide Flugzeuge brauchen Zeit um sie zu erlernen, die Tomcat ist sehr analog und ist vllt eher was für jemanden der auf diese Art von Flugzeugen steht. Die F/A-18 kannst du natürlich immer alleine fliegen und bietet dir eine reichliche Auswahl an Ordnance. Dies ist natürlich nur meine Meinung ;)

I really don't see a problem with reading the airspeed from the gauge instead of a HUD. Older airframes were just like that and once you are used to it you will keep it in your periphery whenever you fly. Reading through some of the threads here makes me think that some people were unaware of what they've actually bought themselves into.

Absolutely agree. There's been quite some Videos/Pictures by Jabbers, Heatblur and others we all enjoyed a lot.

Yes you can hear switches in the jet with the helmet or a headset on. It all depends on many factors though such as airframe, current flying conditions and so on. My experience is relying on big planes such as E-3 and KC-135 though (wearing a David Clark).

Im having a problem since Ive updated and cant really figure out whats going on. Everytime im trying to load into some servers I either get stuck on the loading screen, get kicked back to the DCS Main Screen or Im getting a black screen if I successfully loaded in after a few minutes. This only occurs on some servers though I cant really figure out the problem. Ive repaired DCS, tried a clean version without Mods, uninstalled Mods, basically I tried everything to get rid of this problem but nothing helps. I attached my log too. dcs.zip

Ich weiß nicht ob es irgendeine Verbindung/Cooperation zwischen dem Flughafen (liegt neben dem Museumsgelände) und dem Meseum Peenemünde gibt aber dort gibt es eine kleine Ausstellung von Luftfahrzeugen. Vielleicht hat man sich zusammengeschlossen und stellt DDR Flugzeuge nun dort aus, ich weiß auf jeden Fall das vor dem Tor des Flughafens eine DDR Maschine stand, welche genau das war fällt mir leider nicht mehr ein.
