  1. 1&2. I5/I7 doesn't make a huge difference, but you'll want to make sure you can overclock your cpu to more than 4ghz, so make sure you get a K.. 3.16GB is enough for DCS 4.not even the GTX1080 can get 90 fps indefinitely in DCS rendering everything once (on a normal monitor), never mind having to render everything twice(in VR)... excluding non-combat, unscripted, and super simple missions with not much of anything going on single-player... 5. an SSD is really required because DCS doesn't just load every asset in the game into memory when you load up the game, it loads things up as they spawn in, and then again when they come into rendering distance, so any delay, even the delay of a read head moving, does and will cause lag.
  2. the R3S and R3R are the same missile: the aim-9B, so they both have the same 2G limit, and 5KM range... the R13M1 is basically an aim-9G/J hybrid, has a bigger rocket motor for longer range, and a better tracker than the aim-9B(R3S), has the same control fins(canards) as the aim-9P... so that's why it has a 7G limit and 7KM range... the R-60M can be launched while you're pulling 9Gs, against a target pulling 8Gs, and from 300m away, where as the R13/R3 has a minimum launch range of 1km... the F-5E is so underpowered the extra drag doesn't matter... the mig-21 has so much extra thrust, holds its energy way better... hell, i bet you could take groms and 4x R-60Ms and the f-5s still couldn't catch the mig on a zoom climb...
  3. there's a nob on the left wall of the cockpit, guns selector.
  4. I always take 4xR60m and 2x r3r, only use r3rs when you can't use r60s and they work up to 12km head on and 5km rear aspect, try not to shoot them against a target pulling more than 2 G's. R60ms work out to 4km, but I never use them at more than 3km(on purpose). Don't use them against targets pulling more than 8gs. R13m1 works out to 7km, they turn a bit better than r3rs, don't use them against targets pulling more than 7gs
  5. If the 2600 is a non-k then yes, worth an upgrade
  6. Gm65--OsvGA vEiKoD0BECY
  7. not really worth upgrading the CPU. 1070 is a nice card.
  8. I suggest trying to arm them twice every time you rearm, it could be the same bug as with the rato pods, where every time you arm them, use them, then land and rearm, they either fall off or just don't work But if you wait for the rearming to complete, then rearm again, they don't fall off and do work... Not sure if it will work the same way with flares though...
  9. 1.5.2 it was decent, though I like it better now, and I don't seem to be having these radar issues, or if I am, they don't stop me from finding the baddies, the radar in 1.5.3 was rough though...
  10. And I think the mig-21 only has metric, so if you want imperial, you'll have to get your own cockpit mod.
  11. yeah, those are... reasons... Thanks for the compliments, much appreciated.
  12. I only put music to my compilation videos, because they are compilation videos, and the volume levels are too annoying to adjust... otherwise i figure people will just play their own music if they really want music
  13. it depends on your monitor, but most monitors can only display 60 frames in a second, aka 60Hz... there are 244hz monitors though... and most gaming monitors are 144hz (my asus ROG swift is 144hz)... but a standard desktop monitor can only display 60 fps, even if your videocard is rendering 500 fps...
  14. it's more of a curiosity... If I knew why people don't like these videos, and it's something i can easily fix, why not? if it's just because people don't like my style, or seeing F-5s get utterly demolished, then yeah, internet be damned lol
  15. Look at the ground for shadows, sometimes you can still see his shadow even if you can't look back enough to see his actual plane, also the parascope mirror works great... anyway, shadows are easier to see than planes... to verify what others have pointed out here... if you're a visual learner.... zXO-CdKUlRk OPh24YChcQw W0fHJUzb2E8 8gH5cR7-x_Y
  16. Can someone tell me why this latest video deserves a downvote? I saved my friend hoogs butt twice here, then shot down one of a pair, then the other guy chased me home... Though i don't recommend dodging bullets in real life, DCS is a game, and you're supposed to have fun, I wanted to see if I could make him fire both his aim9s and use all his ammo, while I RTB'd at the same time and he did, and I did... so why downvote?
  17. So I know this isn't a DCS picture or anything, but it's how i picture what I look like while I'm fighting those F-5Es and then, here's my latest video OPh24YChcQw
  18. What's weird, I use a GTX780, and I get a minimum of 30 FPS, average of 70 fps, and up to 110 fps, and no studdering... where I have issues, and this has only been since i got a G-Sync monitor, shadowplay video recording seems really low fps, even though it's like 60+ while I'm playing...or it could just be I'm so used to G-sync now, that when i watch a video without it, it just looks low fps... Also, and I think this is a limitation of my videocard, I can't record at 60 fps with shadowplay....
  19. Afaik all 1080s hit around 2050mhz on the core regardless of how much you've paid, waiting on evga classified oc results, but not expecting much...
  20. And I posted two videos of myself on the f5e vs mig-21 server making liberal use of the radar to find, Id, range find, and launch r3rs with no issues that I didn't expect. I'm quite proud of that first r3r on the second video, I saw a flash, switched the radar to beam mode, pointed my pipper where I saw the flash, hit the lock button, and was like woohoo! It was glorious... I knew he was an enemy from AWACS though. And you. With no evidence. Ignore any kind of evidence proving you wrong.
