  1. Everyone who's flying the F-14A/B has probably already noticed that the HUD pitch ladder seems off, and the manual doesn't have any explanations about how to set it up for proper use. The game manual appears to be based on available information from the actual NAVAIR manual. Well, the section on the HUD in the NAVAIR is missing. I don't know why, but it is. So, I recently noticed the HUD Trim knob and played around with it to discover what it does. It moves the pitch ladder up or down. That means this thing has to be setup in real life to insure accuracy. The only way I could get an accurate reference point to align it was by switching to the Landing HUD mode that provides the flight path marker. Then adjust the HUD Trim knob until the zero pitch line aligns with the flight path marker. Then select T.O. HUD mode and you're ready to go. If you're in the air, it's going to be more difficult. You're going to have to do your best at flying level and adjust the HUD Trim to be level with the flight path marker. It might be easier to be in auto pilot to do this. If anyone knows a former A/B pilot, please ask them if they can explain what they actually did.
  2. Well, I'm not happy with the blurriness and shakiness of my video on YouTube. I guess there's a few channels with great methods to fix the clarity and reduce the shakiness...
  3. In auto mode, the sweep is determined based on the airspeed and other factors. It's not necessarily changing position at the maximum rate. The only way to get maximum rate is by using the manual mode one g.
  4. Are there any tricks for making VR footage more stable? It's really shaky now. Perhaps a future feature could be stabilizing VR footage?
  5. Interesting how fast the wings sweep in the video. Is this only because it's a D model?
  6. I just watched my first successful track replay with the F-14A launching, flying around dumping fuel, while torching the fuel, and recovery back around the carrier with a 3-wire. There was just a couple of problems. The Toggle Menu came up and wouldn't go away, It was uncontrollable. It blocked my view. Also, the communications menu came up on the flight command list during the replay, for some reason. It stayed up. I never selected that specific menu, and I noticed that I could see the response radio calls from the ship on the screen. All of this was only observed during track replay.
  7. Is the night launch command different than daytime? Nothing happens when I salute. Can they not see me? I'm using the communications menu to salute, but they don't launch... Everything works normally in the day.
  8. I would love to see AI aircraft just flying closed traffic! It would be cool to have them flying in the tower pattern as well as the radar pattern.
  9. It would be nice if AI aircraft and wingmen could do a proper 360 overhead arrival. Right now they all just do straight in approaches.
  10. Windows 10 Settings>Mixed reality>Startup and desktop>Input switching. Select: Manually switch using Windows logo key + Y.
  11. Clicking the "Tank" icon was what I needed to do to get what I intended, Thanks Raven!
  12. I'm not talking about what a real carrier deck looks like. I'm saying you can't see the carrier deck when placing static objects and therefore have no idea where the objects will appear until you go into the game and look...that seems wrong to me.
  13. Isn't there a map of the carrier deck to accurately place static objects where one wants them? It's totally a guessing game as far as I can see...
  14. Actually, DCS should let you pick what service and Nation you're flying for, then address you appropriately. It should include transfer pilots as well, like RAF flying in a US squadron. That's a real thing.
  15. I was wondering about that...thanks!
  16. Is the ground power feature working yet? If so, how does it work?
  17. I was flying the F-16C vs AI MiG-21. I tried setting the AI pilot from Rookie to Ace and I didn't see any difference. The thing was flying like a rocket!

  18. We'll be seeing awesome leaps in VR resolution...
  19. I think it means that headset manufactures will have to add whatever support necessary to keep their products running. MS won't do it for them anymore.

  20. I've been flying BFM recently, and it seems like the AI is practically unbeatable on any setting (rookie to ace). Is there something wrong with it?
  21. The F-15 was designed with dogfighting and BVR in mind. They wanted it to be a monster across the whole spectrum of air-to-air combat. That's why it has big wings, powerful engines, a high bubble canopy, and an internal gun.
  22. I've been testing the "turn&burn" capabilities of the DCS Strike Eagle, and I'm surprised by it's lack of flight performance compared to the DCS:F-15C. I never thought an F-14 could easily get on and stay on its tail...
