having a quick look it could be this bit of code CWTX.attribute = {wsType_Ground,wsType_Tank,wsType_NoWeapon,wsTypeVAZ, you seem to be declaring it as a tank. Im not sure what to replace it with.

It can be a useful command (especially to use the rest of your AI group as a distraction/cannon fodder) while you take out the threat. wish list: It would also be really useful to have a "follow me" command and a "hold position" command!

I finally got around to extending my G940 stick I recently have brought my first Home and it being a 1 bedroom flat there was (apparently according to my girlfriend) no room for my modified flight simming chair or my computer desk. I have extended my stick so that I can use it on the floor with a normal chair. After removing the top part I cut the top portion of the plastic rod from the stick. I used an ikea curtain rail the previous owner left lying around for the extension. I cut it down to 2 feet (60cm) in length with a hack saw. I soldered some 4 wire telephone/DSL cable to extend the cable(you only need 3 wires of the 4). Verdict: I have only done a few flights with it. but it seems to give much greater accuracy I can hit targets with the Ka50 gun in borsight mode much more easily than before. You can feel the force feedback but it doesn't quite hold the weight of the whole stick if you let it go.

Since the lastest update I have had weird behavior with the TGP locking on to the nearest building when i press lock instead of the vehicle in the center of TGP, have I turned on some special mode?

I can't believe this mod has been out for 2 weeks and I haven't even realized (to busy flying the Huey) I'm definitely downloading this when I get home! Great work Ricardo.

I think we really need prober Oculus Rift support, I don't think that not being able see the keyboard as a problem,I don't use my keyboard at all, I have all the the keys mapped to my hotas with modifiers, and use voice recognition for the radio menus, it is doable.

I have made a "Pilotable" tank/gun right here, you helped me out with it. What else to you need? All the source files are Here Edit: After thinking about what you want, I realized that you need Combined Arms to drive ground vehicles and at the moment you cannot have a "flyable slot" for a ground vehicle like "T-80" just a combined arms slot. I guess ED will not give this functionality away for free as it is a paid for product in CA. Maybe when someone makes a Tank or SAM sim module for DCS we will see a "flyable spot" for specific ground vehicles implemented. -
You can assign waypoints and target to air units since a few releases ago, I'm not sure if you have to be the host though.

I know the Heuy AFM is still WIP but one thing I think people may have underestimated is that you are missed a very important sense when flying on a PC. Unless you have spent £6500 on a Motion Platform you are not going to feel any G-forces. there are millions of nerves in you body that can sense small changed in the G-loads when you are actually sitting in a helicopter, but in a SIM you are probebly dropping alot before you even start noticing it, which makes it much easier to enter VRS.

I have heard US military commentators say that when the Huey was first desinged in the 50's they never really envisiged it being used in direct combat operations. If when you are maneuvering you think of it more like a big old school bus than a combat helicoptor you will probelby have more luck not falling out of the sky.

Flying the Blackshark with just a keyboard is like eating a steak without using your hands. You can do it, but it will be messy! why not just use a knife and fork?:joystick:

In this account form Vietnam on Youtube an unarmed Huey carrys out 22 soliders, one or two being held onto the skids for dear life! So I think an armed Huey could carry 11 passengers and weapons at a push.

I finally completed this mission and killed all of the insurgents, although I did load up my chopper with weapons (I think it is realistic that a Huey would be armed when making an assault drop on a town) I used the weapons only to soften up some of the groups. I made about 5 drops of troops, sometimes the best tactic seemed to be to drop them right onto the smoke and they would jump out and cause havoc (the ai seemed to be distracted by a flanking group of soldiers) I still have trouble with troops not engaging on green mode but staying still on red mode and generally dying a lot without firing back.

I played this mission last night until 3.00am! it is such a cool little training mission I love it. One thing that bugs me though is that my troops rarely fire on the insurgents and often just get slaughtered without firing a shot. I can see in the .lua that they are set to Excellent, or we sure this is "sticking" becasue to me they seem very Average. I have tried turning the insurgents down to average which help a little but they still seem to outrange my troops sensor range. There should be a link to this thread stickied in the main Huey thread, people are missing out on all the fun!

I run my G940 with the Easy Extension I use SimFFB with 100% spring and damper force. I do not use a deadzone at all. I use a 25% curvature on the Stick and a 45% on the pedals (although I might go back to tring 0% on the stick, but I will have to learn to fly the Huey all over again) I'm thinking of putting a curvature onto the throttle because you need to move the collective such small amounts when you are in the hover, it is hard ATM with linear.

Well when you think an new Xbox game is $60 -$65 (at least it is here in the uk) $49.99 for something this detailed with a relatively small customer base seems like a good price to me. For the price of a meal out for 2 you get to learn how to fly the iconic Huey!

Any news on the edited damaged model? I flew my P51 into the AI Bf109 in a fit of rage:mad: at not being able to shoot it down and it snapped off both my wings and he continued to fly along happily like nothing had happened!:doh: -
