1. Be gentle with it, or it will end up looking like mine! seriously mine has been held together with duck-tape for years (the plastic on the joint always snaps) Now the wiring has decided to breakup and burn out. It is all fixable, I have definitely got the use out of my soldiering iron over all the years I have been flight simming!
2. mikethemadmonk i think all you needed is the autohotkey in app purchase. make sure the ipad and pc are on the same network and can 'talk' to each other. There is lots of general help on the fourms http://www.touchapptech.com/
3. Yeah I'm saying it half joking really. But saying your brain ignores it most of the time so it shouldn't be there is not a very good reason. Im sure 99% of the time your brain 'ignores' the sound of the engines, so should they not model that? I'm saying with an Oculus rift it might make it even more believable if you could see a bit of your nose, even though our brain would almost always ignore it
4. This has got me thinking. To be realistic they should really model the pilot's nose, Sure it would be really annoying if you where using a normal screen and in the middle of the screen all you could see is a big skin coloured blob. But in all VR game should they be modelling the noise? I reality to blocks about 20% of your vision from each eye (depending on size). It might really add to the "presence" to have a nose floating there. I wonder if anyone has done any research on this, off to Google...
5. Is there no way to MOD the zoom back into DCS with the rift? Seems like it would be very useful for reading gauges and spotting targets.
6. If anyone else has this problem I did recently fix it by buying the BU0836A Once I had soldered on the 3 Potentiometers wires (Rudder and 2 brake peddels) to the central pins, the 3 common grounds pins and the 3 common 5-volt pins it was good to go. My pedals now work even better than ever! Less spiking than when they where connected though my G940. I was thinking of changing the rudder Potentiometer to a HAL sensor but im not sure I need to now. there are still spare aixs inputs on the board so i could route some of the throttle controls into it as well (all the wheels have failed because of the cable issue and the throttles can be twitchy) or I might just buy another BU0836A else mapping controls will start to get confusing.
7. It is very hard to use the mav seeker to lock onto a target it slews all over the place and it is like it is broken compared to the TGP. I don't know if it is this hard in real life but I can't believe it is because before they had the TGP it was the only way to fire MAVs.
8. The AI use a completely different and much more simple flight model than player controlled aircraft (It keeps your computers CPU load down) it is inevitable that some differences are expected under some conditions.
9. Thanks for the info on the voltages Sokol1. I have been tiring to connect it back to the port on the joystick base but windows will no longer detect the pedals. both ports work with the throttle so it cannot be the port, there is voltage across the wires and it changes when I move the POT but windows never detects them any-more. I think I will give up and order myself a this BU0836A Board and wire the POT into that to see if it is still working.
10. I still cannot get my peddles to work!. is it weird that im only measuring 3.3V across the Live and GND in stead of 5V? what could I be doing wrong. My electronic knowledge seems to be lacking on this one. I have found this other diagram which says male, so I guess it is a view from the front and I have wired the GND and Live the right way around any help would be much appreciated.
11. With this diagram does anyone know if it is the view from the back of the front of the connector?
12. If you could that would be amazing. It was working find after I fixed it last weekend and then I packed it away and one of the wires broke off and now I can't get it working again (despite staying up until 2am tiring to fix it!) It just will not show up in game controllers when I plug it into the main stick. I hope it is not "fried".
13. Has anyone got a decent diagram or picture of the peddle pin out still (the links on here are dead) I had my peddles working last weekend now they refuse to register at all Bloody crap Logitech Wiring breaks every 5 mins!
14. I hope you mean :) Great News that they have fixed the G940 FFB Problems
15. Why stop at 1 foot? I extended mine by 2 foot (:
16. A realistic sized stick extension really does make things a lot easier. Here's mine: The trouble with curves is you are just trading better "sensitivity" in one area of the stick movment for worse in another, if that makes sense.
17. So are click-able cockpits working with mouse cursor with the Oculus Rift DK2? If they are not is it going to be possible to fix this issue?
18. Ok thanks for clarifying Kuky Hopefully when the consumer version comes out it will be much higher res. In the mean time I hope everyone enjoys the really immersive experience of flying in their DK1 & DK2's! (I have only flown DK1 in War Thurnder, and when I got shot-up I looked over at MY WING and was really pissed off/Scared that there was a huge hole it! so much fun to be had with VR.
19. Why are lots of other people saying they cannot read the instruments at all with the DK2 when you seem to say you read most of them ok? Are you using an extreme amount of zoom or leaning? Have you tried the big hud font mod? http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=95797&highlight=hud+big+font Will it allow you to read the HUD? Even though I am a software developer I think I am going to wait for the consumer version before buying one and doing any real gaming. A lot of people say one of the most amazed things about the Oculus Rift is that they can lean over at look out of the side or front of the aircraft, I can do that well enough with my TrackIR 5 while sat 2 feet from a 36 inch Screen.
20. If anyone one wants more highly detailed Russian rocket pod models check out these ones http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/340339/ originally by Beczl. You still might need to apply Cobras texture file deletion fix.
21. Is Edge engine going to use DX 11 Tessellation features to improve graphics and performance? http://www.geforce.co.uk/hardware/technology/dx11/technology
22. You used to be able to do this back in the days of Lock:On, it is a shame but ED must have taken it out for a good technical reason.
23. Yes it supports DirectX 11 GeForce 560 Ti 1GB
24. It is annoying that you have to Pre-order to get the beta (you didn't for Titan-fall) I don't generally pre order games for £50 when you can get them a few months later for £28. But I would love to play the Destiny beta tomorrow on Xbox One Each pre order of the game gets you 3 activations for the beta for that system, So If anyone who frequents this forum has got one spare that they would like to PM me, I will promise to help you level up online. Thanks would be great. If you haven't seen Destiny check it out http://www.bungie.net/ it is the most expensive game ever made, costing $500 million dollars to produce and market.
