Defiantly would make me want to take a break from learning the hog and jump back in the black shark when this cockpit is released! -
In respect to interrogating data, and if, then type statements. I do wish the DCS editor was more like the GEM Editor by C1 (Men of War). I recreated the whole first level form Call Of Duty 1 in a few hours, with paratrooper drops, triggers, mortar bombardments, selectable difficulty levels. The DCS editor is powerful but there are things that make it harder to use than it could be.

Are you running the 32Bit or 64Bit .exe for DCS-A-10? Because TrackIR doesnt work with the 64Bit .exe yet because natural point havent release the 64Bit software. I thought maybe this could be the case with Nvidia 3D as you say its working in Blackshark which is 32bit only. Try using 32Bit install of A-10

For me this is the most pressing bug that needs fixing in the game. When the seeker is ground stabilized it behaves like a drunken monkey. It is soooooooooooooo hard to get a lock in good time. You press right and it goes left for while, you press down it goes up for a second before moving in the correct direction. All the time you are pissing about with this malfunction you are flying straight at the target and then before I even get a lock I'm dead because it has taken be so many tries to lock up I have over flown the target and it has shot the shit out of me. It never used to be like this before the patch. I would be highly surprised If the real seeker behaved like this because it would cost many highly skilled expensive to train pilots there lives and they would probably refuse to use Mavericks.

There is no separate main forum and it is very confusing because flaming cliffs 2 is not a DCS product but runs on the DCS engine so a lot of lockon issues and mods will not be applicable. I guess it is to late to make a separate forum now. -

Thanks (+1), I didn't have that key file in my registry so just deleted the whole folder and had to reinstall my clean second version. I have a degree in computing but that still hasn't stopped me getting a bit too creative with registry at times!:cry:

I have flaming cliffs 2 installed twice (one for mods and one for online play), so how will I install the patch onto my second install. It says patch is already installed when I run it. thanks. jib

Yeah this is happening to me to. It makes it much harder to target and almost impossible to target a single vehicle in a tight packed group. shall we put it in the bug thread?

I have just tried putting up the values in ModelLOD.txt // T-80UD model { name = "T-80UD"; lod = {"T-80UD", 9000}; lod = {"LD_Tec", 9000000}; } I have increased the 9 fold. But still no difference in the LODs, I am beginning to think it might be hard coded? Most vehicles seem to turn to boxes between 0.4 and 0.8 miles depending on the FOV. which seems really close for such blocky LOD models.

For me the LOD settings for the Ground units is to harsh and they look like boxes when you should still be able to Identify the vehicle type. I have set my LOD multiplier to 10 but it has no effect, setting building and trees to 10km works fine. Medium { near_clip = 0.2; middle_clip = 5; far_clip = 140000; structures = {40, 10000}; trees = {1000, 10000}; dynamic = {300, 20000}; objects = {3000, 80000}; mirage = {3000, 20000}; surface = {14000, 80000}; lights = {100, 30000}; lodMult = 10; lodAdd = 0; }I have also had a look at modifying the .Skins file where some LOD details are kept. but this is fro the t-72.skins file in bazer/world/shapes models { lod = {"T-72", 1000000}; } But it only shows one level of detail??? where and what setting do I need to change to Increase the vehicle LOD distance? I can't see the hud or shval even when electronic systems are powered on, I had a few mods installed when I ran the patch so this could be the cause. I can't make a clean install of 2.0 because I deleted lockon 1.0 and I'm getting "lockon 1.1 not found installation interrupted" message while trying to install 2.0. and now the original lockon CD is too scratched to reinstall 1.0, grrr.

I have been experimenting trying to add a new plane in flaming cliffs 2. I have got it to show up in the editor but when I try to fly lockon crashes. Here is what I have so far, I probably have some way to go. copy aircraft controls folder and rename update aircraft names.lua change server.lua and view.lua change customhuman.lua db_countrries.lua generate CLSIDs number cnt_unit("{AC22DC99-5FF0-4485-BC96-2258850C1BAF}", "F-22", { color_scheme("{58206553-0986-4B0A-B0BA-BAD1950CEC01}", "USAF Standart"), change world ID in planes folder f-22.lua database/type.lua add f-22 to bazar/planesTable.lua // f-22 shape { file = "f-22"; life = 20; vis = 3; // desrt = "Fighter-1-crush"; desrt = "f-15-oblomok"; shadow= "shadow10"; // load = { false, false}; fire = { 300, 2}; username = "F-22"; index =56; I think I will have to add info to the flight model in SFM_Engine.lua and some other stuff. Has anyone found out why the helicopter rocket pods become invisible (also Su-25 high explosive and Illumination rocket pods) I did not install this mod but installed them all separately into flaming cliffs 2 and still have the problem. I don't really want to re-install the game, I like the challenge of trying to fix it. Is it thought to be caused by changing db_countries.lua or db_weapons? or another file? I guess any mod made before the first black shark patch came out could cause these issues (because these rocket type where include in the patch and we didn't have them before). -
I guess you could make a new Farp model and assign no textures to it so that it is invisible, or if you can't do that make some invisible textures for the current one model, but then you couldn't have any visible Farps and when aircraf did land. it would appear to be floating abit above the ground because the model is like this:

You don't necessarily need two sound cards to have chat come through the headphones only. Have the VOIP application closed. then just set the defult sound device to headphones and then start Teamspeak or Live Messenger chat and then switch the default device to speakers and start lockon. Chat will come through your headphones only and game sound will come out of your speakers. at least this works for me in windows vista. Still doesn't solve the in game radio messages coming through the headset, that would be quite cool but I think quite hard to do you might need multiple threads or something, although the xbox 360 does it well.

Interesting stuff, So in flaming cliffs 2 is it possible to create a completely new plane with its own flight model without over riding existing plane slots? Or are will still stuck with losing a plane when we add a new one. :cry:

Is there a reason we can't use the SU-25T to Lock onto ZSU-23-4 Shilka's with Kh-25MPU anti-radiation missile anymore? I have had a look around the forum but can't find the answer. The Phantasmagoria pod picks up the target but I can't lock on properly and never get launch authorization for the missile. Screenshot, Target is detected but not Categorized(Identified): But when I try to lock on the reticle locks over the target but changes back the the Slue designator I think I remember in lockon 1.12 being able to launch anti radiation and Shilka's Anyone know anything about this? How's the model building going this week? Has it been skinned yet? Any news on a release date? I realize that the last parts are hard to finish. The devil is in the detail so they say! I'm sure you wont releases it before it is ready, I'm just sick of seeing the low res model along side the High res planes like Sim Mod A-10 and Gys F-15C. Good Luck. Jib
