  1. Hi There, I dunno the "rounding" logic of the game, but the other day I was to the pound exactly at 6400 and report went out as 6.3. (Edit: just finished a mission, now fuel was 5260, state report to Marshall said "State 5.4") Similar thing when setting QFE, if you set what's given by the tower, you will be a bit higher than 0 feet. If you turn it 0.01 inchHg lower, then will be your altitude dead 0. This latter altimeter issue is general throughout every platform, as far as I can remember. Not a showstopper, just mentioning. Sorry if any of these discussed earlier.
  2. In an earlier ship tagging mission, fastmovers were difficult to pick up even before dawn.
  3. Hay BD, question to Mission 10 again: on the last page of the briefing there are some blue handwritten informations about how each groups will appear on SA page ("on SA page: P11-P14"). Can I make sense of it in the sim too by some SA function I'm not aware of, or is it yet another reference to the book content, that I did not read?
  4. Uhmmm... wait a minute, if the bombs go TU in the mission, how am I (or other pilots for that matter) supposed to drop them at all?
  5. Thanks! Shame on me, I didn't buy the book to be honest. I understand it's from the book, but those sentences were probably for some theatrical effect for the rather average readers, I'm not sure they would be said in real life just minutes before drop, if everything was pre-briefed extensively. Maybe it is just me, but I found it rather confusing, than clarifying, as by the time they've been said, every flight member should have tediously entered all the coordinates manually. And then, where is the brevity? It should never sound like a boyscout campfire speech on the radio. But, it's just my 2 cents, and enough of nitpicking. Still the best F-18 campaign ever. Anything more up to your sleeve maybe?...
  6. In Mission 10, does Cajun's transmission change anything from the very detailed original target briefing? Kinda confusing, its like re-assigning target... or just summarizing without changing?
  7. Might be what Page 36 in the manual says?
  8. Red Flag for Hornet is nice only for the first couple of missions, after that you will realise it is always the very same mission down to the letter, only the adversaries will be changed. So, very boring. I deleted it after the fifth mission or so... Just my 2 cents...
  9. Hi There, I heard Jell-O on his podcast saying once about clearing turn "20 for 20". Does it mean 20 degree bank until your nose is 20 degrees off original takeoff heading (left or right), or maybe 20 degrees off heading for 20 seconds, then come back to original heading? Any RL Hornet jockeys maybe? Thanks a lot !
  10. Thanks Lex for stopping by !
  11. Did you check your rudder axis assignment? Sometimes some other axis gets it assigned to without you doing anything. Some updates used to do that earlier.
  12. You probably assigned it as a macro, and not as a Keypress... hmmm? Easy to check: open Word, and press the pickle button. If it is a macro, only one letter will appear even if you hold it. If it is a keypress, then they are appearing endlessly as long you hold the button.
  13. Hay Baltic, in Mission 9 maybe there should be an intermittent refuel option too. There is definitely a lot of things to do. When I saw we are low on fuel, and wingman obviously even more so, I stole some time between two attacks, and headed out to Texaco, but didn't have any command for wingman to go and drink. Then I reached Texaco on fumes, wingman in trail, but he gave me only I guess 4k, after that bugged out and actually disappeared from the game for good, or at least didn't reply to my request, only a metallic click in the radio. Obviously, wingmen couldn't make it and ditched. Found out from later voiceovers, Texaco was there only for pre-RTB AAR if necessary.
  14. Another trimm denier...
  15. You mean Auto Browse?...
  16. I'm not sure those are commands for Kneeboard. Did you look at Voice Attack listening page to see what VA recognizes when you say ANvil or Chrystal palace?
  17. Did you check it in the VAICOM manual?
  18. You can say it before too. You just inform JTAC you see it, and JTAC will only clear you hot after you said SPOT. So when "Laser on", you can for sure lock, but to get clearance from JTAC to shoot you need to say "spot" first.
  19. Then you have to respond "Spot", meaning you see his laser. You can say it after uncaging and having a lock...
  20. Try to press and HOLD weapon release anyways. I have a feeling it will fire, just takes a bit longer. Please report back if it worked.
  21. What is your controller(s)? (joystick, throttle, pedal if any?) Do they enable you to fly precisely at all? No pun intended, but it looks like you would try to fly this thing with a keyboard or XBox controller. If it is not the case, I would try to watch some more Case I recovery videos on youtube, and would try to begin fix one step of the process at a time. First learn to fly the Hornet 800 feet 350 knots up the BRC on the starboard side. Then learn to make the break to a level turn, pulling about as much G's, as your speed divided by 100, decreasing with your speed decreasing during the turn, and so on. On the downwind you should get down to 600 feet, and never get back above it at all, but rather turning into the groove descending. After you trimmed to AOA, do not use the stick for altitude change, but only the throttle. I know it is a steep learning curve, but you can't skip it if you want to master it.
  22. What can you watch on AoA after you trimmed the plane out to the E-bracket in a first place? While adjusting the FPM with the throttle for climb or descent, AoA doesn't change in the Hornet at all. That's the point of it... Or?...
  23. Topic search didn't bring this up, so I rather ask: is there any dark mode for the kneeboard? Maybe it is rather a DCS question, but during a night mission the kneeboard nearly burns out my eyes, when it appears as a freaking flashlight to my face. Sorry, if wrong place to ask, appreciate if someone points me out where has this question been discussed on DCS forum.
