Czech army training video cover complete sequence start Mi-24
Razor18 replied to Magot's topic in DCS: Mi-24P Hind
Hi Magot, thank you for the precious translation! Just to make it complete, could you please translate what the narrator said at 12:59 please? I guess it is something about the manual throttle levers to check the engines one by one, but it seems to be missing from your original translation. Sorry if it is only a time stamp offset... -
Nope. I always descend pretty low before slowing down so that there will be not too much height to delicately loose in hover.

First, you need to start slowing very early. The Hind is a squirell and a whale in one heavy body. You will need to watch two gauges mostly: speed and VVI. When starting to decel, reduce collective so much that VVI is at, or just a bit below 0 m/s (actually, you can even descend faster, until you do not slow down near transitional speed). You will need to reduce MUCH collective, once you lift the nose up, and keep it there. Then watch your speed indicator going down. There will be a certain speed (I didn't try in Mi-24 yet, so dunno from the top of my head), when you will see your descend speed increasing, because you start loosing transitional lift. Note this airspeed, and anticipate the the increasing descend speed next time at this very speed by increasing collective back up as much as to arrest descent, because if you let it go below 2-3 m/s, you can't arrest it any more. So watch VVI and try to keep yourself from descending too fast by ading collective (with corresponding right pedal to counter torque effect), to maximize descend speed less than 2 m/s. Then when you slowed down, push the nose back down just as much as not starting backing up, just hovering. I dunno how to describe it better, hope this helps some.

Hello There, today I tried to just jump into the training tutorial. There are a lot of pointers missing, mostly where it says "while you doing this, monitor this and this gauges/parameters (list of appr 4 parameters)", but in most cases there is no pointer, where to look. Thanks for adding in those pointers.

Didn't read this DCS manual yet, but russian or european aircraft VVIs show climb and descend in m / seconds, not hundreds of meters per minutes.

Today I started VA and VAICOM after longer absence. Both said update available. I simply downloaded the new VA installer 64 bit, started and installed it. Apparently it went to the old place, in the Program Files (x86) directory. I can start it, and VAICOM also fires up (update accepted for that too), but I can't start "Chatter", altough Voice Attack recognizes the command (and I take out checkmarks from "Link to Radio Power" in VAICOM EX tad CHATTER section. What am I doing wrong? EDIT: solved. Had to switch off Redirect. (Previously I used Rift, "Redirect ON" always required to hear the chatter from the Rift. Now with a G2 it doesn't requires Redirect to be on. But another question why can't I execute commands like "Request Launch!" ? Voice Attack listening window says: "Command 'request launch' is currently disabled for this session and was not executed." Uhmmm... what?

ED is chasing this bug since 2018 now, and the community keeps reporting it again and again since then. In the Bug section, look up "pipper" or "gunsight" in Search, and you will see. First reported in June 2018. Reply then (and since) was usually "missing track file" and/or "can not reproduce"... Just sayin'...

Marty McFly inverse solution?
-
Exactly as sLYFa says. For instance "Push button 13" means switch to preset Channel 13. So in that sentence "...approach button 15..." mean go to Channel 15, on which you will be able to talk to Approach.
-
Also don't forget, the RL and the TM HW speedbrake switch is momentary (spring return on this "side") in aft position, when you release it, it goes back to the middle (OFF) position, while when you push it forward, it stays forward like a switch does, or as you should hold a button, should you assign Retract function to a simple button other than the speedbrake switch...

Messages description (for proper timing) would be appreciated very much. Which message appears when?
-
Uhhmmmm... I think I better go get some coffee... Sorry...

Why not asking directly Bankler himself in his topic? Bankler training mission topic
-
After all, did you try finishing all steps that the TM calibration tool asked you to do, and then check if it works OK?
-
Huh! Thanks...

Guidance can make "wind corrections" only as long the GBU is falling through the sky, and can make it open up at the point, where the little submunitions would be right over the target (at the altitude you've set it up). After the submunitions disperse, and are descending on small parachutes, there is no way anything could guide the submunitions onto the target, "against" the wind. So actually you need to Kentucky windage and offset your aiming point upwind (depending on opening height set by you), then considering surface wind direction and strength so much, that after opening, the wind blows the submunitions under parachutes over the targets by the time they blow up and start to seek for targets.

Hay Bankler, great tool, great update ! Is there any documentation about the options in the menus, what does what? Sorry, if missed it... Thanks

fixed New clouds with missions
Razor18 replied to DimSim's topic in A-10C The Enemy Within Campaign 3.0
Thanks... and what about my "clouds" question? -
Hi GUys, any word on this ever since? I just flew the A-10C the other day and found this change myself...

fixed New clouds with missions
Razor18 replied to DimSim's topic in A-10C The Enemy Within Campaign 3.0
Hay BD, don't wanna be a whiner, but just want to second DimSim: with the new clouds Mission 18 seems to be pretty close to impossible for me too... Is there a generic cloud setting option in DCS maybe I don't know of, that could be toned down? How the F-16 choose their target of opportunities? In other words, how will I know, what they destroyed maybe from "my" target list? Thanks -
