  1. Just for the sake of optional usage, I just don't understand why can't they (all ILS) be left always on, especially if ATC can choose another RWY used independently anyway. Thanks for the clarification tough...
  2. Tried ILS landing the other day (Kobuleti), and couldn't get any LOC/GS response (ILS power ON, frequency OK, ILS button pressed (down on the nav source panel, placed beside STPT and TACAN etc.). Didn't hear ILS morse code either, just the TACAN, after volume buttons all pulled out (A-10C II starts with all volume buttons pushed in, but that's another story). Tried ILS on other airfields, same thing. Asked on forum, somebody told ILS is only active, if that ILS equipped runway is "forced" to be used due to stronger than 7 m/s wind from that direction, and ISL also will only be activated then. Is this right? Thanks if not, but if it is so, how could we use ILS if no wind but bad weather? Shouldn't they be always on? Thanks, sorry if misunderstood something.
  3. Oh... so there is no point trying any airfield with ILS as they have theirs down until no wind above 7 m/s? A bit weird, denies real life scenario for sure
  4. Yeap, TACAN and ILS buttons were pressed down. Pulling them up brought back TACAN audible signal, but not ILS. At least in Kobuleti, 111.50 MHz (frequency taken from the airfield details on the map). And ILS didn't activated either.
  5. Most public sources mention 31s range is being "up to 15 NM". How much would be realistic for you?
  6. Did you go into the Module Manager?
  7. OK, here in public, or in PM?
  8. Hay Chuck, thanks again for your tremendous work. If we found any more typo, can we give a feedback for you without offending you ? If so, here, or in a PM or... ? Thanks
  9. :worthy::cheer3nc:Thanks a Million !
  10. I see... there, you don't use brake either, right?
  11. Do you have a driving licence?
  12. Sidewinder on its own locks onto an IR target (heat source), radar on its own locks onto a radar contact. If you have more than one target in the FOV of those sensors, they might easily lock onto different targets, unless you slave IR head to the radar TGT.
  13. 2. Probably the Force is with him... ????
  14. Total different ballistics of the projectiles. Only principle might be the same.
  15. If you have a map about the enemy, that's called "Training". :)
  16. Also if you unchecked "Realistic TDC slew" option?
  17. I would suggest to open a new topic about it.
  18. Some more details about "not working"? Is "Nose wheel steering" light on? If you press the pedals the rudders and nose wheel don't move in outside view or? Check rudder axis assignment. Updates sometimes mess up previously OK axis or button assignments.
  19. A good place to begin, DCS manual, Page 87: "Additionally, many of the buttons and switches have alternate functions if they are held down for a Short period or a Long period (1 second or more)."
  20. TACAN pointer being 5 degrees past its 9 o'clock value
  21. Happened earlier, when the carrier TACAN channel and a nearby land based TACAN channel are the same.
  22. Can you also confirm there is no more CTD on the way home near the carrier?
  23. And if you line up perpendicular and lay down a string of 4 bombs with 100 feet of separation, you can also get the armor in the parking lot on the same run in...
  24. You can do it with the same dumb bomb, but dropping them AUTO with TGP on.
  25. As G B wrote sometimes back: anything is allowed for you to do that makes you commencing at push time. You don't need to make 2 min turns with accuracy to a second. For instance I always make 30° degrees turn and watch the clock, how much does it to take a 180° or 360° first. Before starting the next turn at holding DME, I look at the clock for the time to go, and deduct the time of two 180° which gives you the time you have for the two straight legs. So start the "last" racetrack, fly a 180° turn, fly downwind as calculated for the straight leg, or rather a bit shorter to correct for ship travel, and then turn back another 180° and watch the DME counting down to your distance of commencing, and follow the clock. Then you can play a little with the speed to commence on time.
