  1. For me, I would wish for a more user-friendly Mission Editor. As much as I would love to have more toys to play with such as map of Korea, and a bunch of Korean War era planes to fly, an improved ME is, by far, the most significant thing I can think of to ask for. In particular, the ability to zoom into a 3D environment when placing objects onto the map. That one feature alone would save any serious mission builder HOURS and HOURS of tedium in their quest to churn out worthwhile entertainment for the rest of us!! Improvements to the mission builder's ability to shape the weather environment we fly in, specifically to get away from a totally homogenous condition of wind, clouds, precipitation, etc. I could go on and on but I think that ED has the gist of what I'm getting at.
  2. +1000! This doesn't seem like it would be too difficult to manage since the tanker obviously knows which type of a/c is calling for gas.
  3. I heartily agree with this request but would preface it with a repeat of my earlier request for more tanker callsigns if/when (or preferably before) any of these planes are added.
  4. Back to the deck handling qualities of this A-4C MOD, it is true that the Navy had a "J" bar available to help maneuver the Scooter around when necessary whether they used it or not, but the bottom line here is that the brake effectiveness in the model is not sufficient to allow a normally competent sim pilot to maneuver the Scooter where he wants it to go while on the flight deck with a nominal wind of around 30+ knots blowing over it. This is one of the more annoying aspects of the Scooter that makes me not fly it as much as I'd like to. Otherwise, for the most part, it is a lot of fun to fly!
  5. It's beautiful =Katze=! I don't believe that they put that a/c number on the tip tank though. In all of the Panther photos in my Dad's cruise book, the tip tanks did not have any numbers on them. Having said that, the thing to remember is, squadron CO's and CAG's had a great deal of local control over a/c markings and even BuAir was constantly coming out with new directives as to how an a/c was to be painted, so don't get too wrapped up in the "small stores". I have no doubt that someone could show you a picture of a Panther in Air Group 5, VF-52 markings with a/c numbers on the tip tank just as I could site pictures of same without them. It's silly to get wrapped up in that type of minutia. The bottom line is that she's a beautiful model and I can't wait to fly her!!
  6. =Katze=, that is absolutely beautiful!! You've nailed it. Thanks for sharing.
  7. "Damn, I can smell mid-rats ........." LMAO!! That just triggered a memory of mine....multi-colored meat on 2 pieces of stale, dried out white bread with a small packet of Frenches mustard!!
  8. Regarding that picture above of the A-7 with the MAVs loaded, how would they be delivered without a TGP?
  9. My Dad was skipper of VF-52. Do you suppose you'd be able to manage a skin for them as well? Not too complicated for both VF-51, -52. Just put a big "S" on the tail and Wings and their 3 digit side numbers begin with a "1" and "2" respectively. Thanks. Beautiful model by the way.
  10. 1. Naval units that have A.I. that will allow them to attempt to evade attacks from the air as well as from other ships. 2. A full fidelity module of the Consolidated PBY-5A. The Catalina was operated in every theater of the war by all the Allied participants in many roles such as Search and Rescue, Reconnaissance, anti-Shipping, anti-Submarine and Special Ops just to name a few. In my humble opinion, If ED is able to figure out how to make this plane truly amphibious, that would not only ensure its tremendous success as a Module, but would also open the flood gates for further examples of sea borne or amphibious aircraft that operated throughout the war, of which there were many on both sides of the conflict.
  11. What Gunfreak just said!! +1000!!! AI gunnery (non-electronically directed) in DCS World needs a major overhaul!!
  12. My brother was the DASH Officer aboard the Fred T Berry, a Fletcher FRAM II DD back in the late 60's. He had some great stories about flying it.
  13. Does anybody know if HB is planning to fix the spawning locations on the catapults? They are different for all 4 cats and it is a bit of a problem for folks to figure out where they need to be before hitting the "U" key.
  14. If ED ever gets around to doing the KC-10, there would be another opportunity to provide both probe 'n drogue and boom refueling. Since the tanker is aware of which type of receiver has called for re-join, when that plane gets in there and reports "ready pre-contact", the tanker would just deploy whichever was needed, the basket or the boom. This doesn't "seem" to be too difficult to accomplish. But I'm sure that it's not all that simple, however it would be very much appreciated!!
  15. I am looking for a post WWII aluminum skin, preferably with Air Force markings. This is so the Fortress can stand in for the B-29 in Korean War era missions. Has anyone seen something like this?
  16. Is anyone working on improving the look of fog in DCS World? It has been "broken" for so long that I wonder if ED has just forgotten about it. I'm not asking about it because I think that this is something that is an easy or quick fix. I am just curious to know if there is any effort being made to look into it and possibly improve it.
  17. Well, that's the reason why I asked the question in the first place. There are so many things that we enjoy in this DCS World of today (July, 2023) that not too many years and versions ago, were absolutely IMPOSSIBLE. I am just wondering aloud if there is any thought being given to the idea of allowing the MPRS to actually live up to the intended purpose for its very existence. I realize that the MPRS is a module that RAZBAM was originally responsible for but I am under the impression that ED pretty much controls what it can and can't do in terms of refueling receiving a/c. Please give this a moment's consideration.
  18. I believe that, in this DCS World, the KC-135 can and does differentiate between boom receivers and probe receivers by ignoring any calls from the probe equipped a/c just as the KC-135MPRS ignores calls from the boom receivers, so they are "aware" of the type of a/c that is requesting fuel from them. My question/wish is, would it be possible to allow the MPRS to deliver fuel to both types of a/c? I have no idea of whether it is normal, much less even possible, for the MPRS to service both types simultaneously in real life, but as far as DCS World is concerned, making the MPRS able to provide fuel to both types during a single mission would be a huge improvement. Thank you for your time in considering this.
  19. For me, it's the inclusion of the Essex class carrier. I feel like the challenge of learning to fly the Corsair and operate it off the carrier properly will occupy quite a bit of my time and I am really looking forward to that. The rest is just icing on the cake.
  20. If you're looking for a simulation of what it feels like to fly a helicopter, I suggest the Mi-8 Hip. It is by far the most realistic representation of what it looks and feels like to fly a helicopter of that size and weight class. But the folks above are right about pedals. Sure, you might be able to muddle through without them with some sort of key mapping work around or even twist stick but it wouldn't be nearly as much fun.
  21. Rudel_chw, How do you determine what the proper label is for each AI plane folder? I mean, how do you find out that the KC-135's folder in Saved Games is actually kc-135 whereas the KC-135MPRS is labeled KC135MPRS.
