What do you have in mind for an AI tanker? BTW, good luck on this project. I have no doubt but that it is a huge undertaking. I hope you have some pretty thick skin for the crowd around here!

Great post JD! A totally reasonable request made in a very polite and respectful manner. I believe that the Bat bomb was completely autonomous once it was released. I don't think that it required any guidance from the pilot.

Bowie, as much as I truly appreciate your thoughts on additional ships to support the Essex class CV that is going to accompany the F4U-1D Corsair, I would amend it by replacing the Independance class CVL's with CVE's. All of the CVLs operated smaller air groups consisting of Hellcats and Avengers, neither of which we have yet in DCS, while the CVE's could have had Corsairs operating from them. The other reason for using the Jeep carriers in lieu of the Light Carriers is that they were used extensively during the Korean War with Corsairs embarked. These, along with the Essex class carrier would fit right into a Korean War scenario with the Corsair. One would just have to use their imagination to pretend that the Hawg they were flying was actually a -4 or -4B instead of the -1D.

As much as I whole heartedly support this request for additional tankers, I'd have to preface that with a simple request for some more tanker callsigns. I do realize that I am speaking from complete and total ignorance here but it just seems to me that, amongst some of the more outlandish requests seen in here, this one seems like it would be child's play to accomplish with very little effort - comparatively speaking of course. Please consider it.

I'm still stumped as to how to get the KC-10 (drogue) to work properly though. It's a bummer.

Sorry Urbi, I have tried everything I can think of but nothing seems to work. The basket cannot be engaged by the probe of the Hornet. It just goes right through and more often than not, ends up in my lap LOL! Thanks for the help anyway. Cheers Mate!

I placed them in the MAM folder after first renaming the ones that were there already. Now, after telling the tanker that I wish to rejoin, he extends his basket normally but after telling him that I am ready for pre-contact, to which he replies, "cleared pre-contact", my probe just passes through the basket as if it were not there. The only thing that remains "normal" is the tanker's fear of my getting too close - "BREAK AWAY, BREAK AWAY!!". I am doing this in a Hornet if that is significant.

OK, I did that. My next question is, will all those that join my server in a multiplayer mission need to have this fix installed on their machine in order to benefit from this fix? And thank you for the advice.

Thank you very much Urbi but I have no clue what to do with these .lua files. Do they go in the ME as a script or am I supposed to add them to the mod somehow?

Thanks for pointing me to the proper location of this mod. I never thought to look in this forum, "Flyable/Drivable Mods", since there is nothing, to my knowledge, in the MAM that fits that description. No matter though, as long as I know where to find it now.

Yeah, I finally found it there but I was mostly wondering about what happened to it here in the forums. I was just in here last week asking about the KC-10 Extender in a thread that was all about that mod. Since then somebody has come along and swept it away.

This is such an awesome mod!! Thank you to the devs! Has anyone come up with a lua fix for the position of the refueling hose and basket off the KC-10 -d yet? I have been able to successfully refuel from it in a Hornet but the basket is always out in front of the probe by several feet, wobbling around in space. Other than that, and it's KC-130 like fear of receivers getting too close, it's perfect!!

Are y'all even remotely considering the possibility of parlaying your model of the Essex class CV that is coming out with the F4U-1D into a modernized, angled deck version for the Crusader?

While I agree with that sentiment, consider this; you could conceivably say the same thing about the F-4E coming out (just slap a navy paint job on it) but imagine the bummer of having to cuddle up behind a KC-135 for some fuel. The problem would be exactly the same for the A-7D enthusiasts only in reverse.

Just upgraded my computer and installed Windows 11 and now, I can't get SimAppPro to load and function to make the back lighting work. I get an error notice saying that there are runtime errors occurring.

I have to agree with Baco for the simple reason that the -4 fits into late WWII scenarios as well as Korea and any conflicts it participated in afterwards. But most of all, I just think that the Corsair looks so much better with 4 blades than 3 blades. Silly, I know, but it is what it is.
