dumb question but I assume you got your information from your eye doctor on what to put in.

Marginal ? I also owned both, including Odyssey as well. The Reverb is BY FAR much better clarity than either. Rift-S isn't really close: same blurry MFD's, same blurry distance spotting. Sure, it's better than a first gen VR, as it has less SDE, but nothing extra ordinary. If you play DCS and want VR for DCS, Reverb is far better, and yes, $200 better than a Rift-S. Rift-S is cheaper because they provided a middle of the road resolution bump to keep the price down. It's in no way even close to 2160x2160 resolution. IMO the only negative of the Reverb is its cord is heavy. So playing VR games where you are moving around, etc.. I'd suggest some sort of way to handle that. Honestly, I only play flight sims with my VR so I tend not to care. But again, puuullleeeeassee people, stop trying to say this resolution is even close to comparable. You can make other arguments, but can't touch Reverb in terms of clarity. As far as performance, I find it right on par, I don't notice a big leap of perf for me (1080ti, 9700k OC to 5, 32 gig, SSD) in comparison to other units. Ultimately I'd say it depends on your budget, as with any technology, personally the extra $200 was well worth the price, I'm constantly amazed how well it looks. Secondly, decide how you are wanting to use the VR, if it's for DCS and simulation, it's a great VR headset. I have the latest Reverb and haven't had any issues.

You will be happy . :) I was 10 days without mine - got a replacement, so far so good. While I was waiting I had to go back to the Odyssey. Huge difference in clarity. Everytime I put the Reverb on I am 'wow'd'. About OLED. This isn't just 'Reverb' - this is all the newer units are LED - Valve Index, Pimax 5k+, Rift S.. And yes, LED isn't as bright and doesn't have the color of OLED. After that though the benefits suffer , as the Samsung units don't come even close to the resolution of the Reverb. I am curious what Samsung will do next, I think if they released a high resolution headset it would definitely be a competitor but for now, Reverb is the King of Resolution :) That video above doesn't give a good demonstration. However, there is a degrading as you goto the edge of the FOV. It's one of those 'are you moving your eyes or head' things - so if I'm looking back and see a bandit behind me on the edge, it's not as clear and I'd have to get a better look - but for the most part it's not really a big deal as it's a peripheral thing. I flew Hornet over weekend after a week of O as well, and the MFD's are clear with Reverb, everything is readable. I can run SA page on bottom MFD with Map on and it's not even close to any other unit I've used (O, O+, Rift S)

Try the HP Reverb Clutter. Trust me for DCS it's great. Oculus Rift S is a good bargain $$$ but not as much of a updated compared to Reverb in terms of resolution and clarity. Your buddy Recon. Tonight got in the Hornet, I read everything. No zooming required.

One thing that is confusing in steamvr settings: If you don't select the override and you also have the app listed will it always use the app listed setting ? In that case video setting was 86% and DCS is %100 - nothing checked
-
Default is using 86% SS and I just use PD 1.0 I have motionvector enabled in settings
-
Interesting, as I would say 'clarity' - is just fine, it's very clear. It's handling any ghosting/stuttering that is bigger issue.
-
I have the same issue
-
Suppose to help if your frames dip, maintain a consistent view. So after 8 days of waiting for replacement Reverb, had to use my Odyssey... Man it's like Christmas all over again - looks so good!

Just received my updated HP Reverb Pro directly fro HP this morning - Rev-A - I assume this is the updated revision

Why are the most unrealistic servers the most popular?
USA_Recon replied to Boris's topic in Multiplayer
I would like to see some of the popular servers go with a "no fox-3" servers. -
I returned my consumer edition and getting pro tomorrow. Is this because of the leather vs. cloth - I assumed they were identical outside of that ?
-
I was able to return my HP Reverb to HP for a new model replacement, I'm assuming since directly from HP it will be a revised model. I should be getting it tomorrow Interesting Hafer, I have similar setup - I'm curious why "1.1" and not just "1.0" - do you notice a difference ? I run 1.0 with MSAA 2x, perhaps running 1.1 without it is achieving the same end goal ?

same

Will Viper early access ship with working TWS (unlike Hornet ... still ...) ?
-
I just hope it's more readable than the Hornet map, especially in VR.
-
120's are way underpowered in the game and Aim54's are way OP. Hope they fix it - it's a bit ridiculous right now.

Solving Ghosting/Stuttering in WMR - Not all 45fps are created equal
USA_Recon replied to Wazoo's topic in Virtual Reality
This should be pinned to be honest, it's a source of confusion for all SteamVR users. Keep in mind, after any updates of SteamVR, it will overwrite and comment it back out - so you should confirm it's still set how you want it after an update. And as mentioned, this doesn't fix everything, if you still get lower FPS then it's because of CPU/GPU, etc... edit: this is not in my file motionReprojectionTemporalEnabled - is this a legacy setting ? -
Also take a look here . https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=229077

Not exactly a solution, but you can create kneeboard items

VR Shaders mod for better VR experience
USA_Recon replied to Kegetys's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
I'm getting a pure client error after installing this -
I had a Rift S and the Reverb is far better imo. I'd like to try Kegetys shader Mod but the instructions for setting it up aren't very clear

nice... "it's like a big F'ing monitor strapped to your eyeballs" . lol.. yep!

The other thing is mentioned here: "The unit will still get warm but the thermals have been improved. Flicker has been fixed, too." "So can one assume all of the units now being offerred for sale around the world at hp sales websites are now updated units? For instance the Reverb only went on sale in Australia last night for the first time and am hoping it is a revised version? Cheers and thanks for the updates :)" Voodooimaxx Correct. :)
