  1. I'm getting a pure client error after installing this
  2. I had a Rift S and the Reverb is far better imo. I'd like to try Kegetys shader Mod but the instructions for setting it up aren't very clear
  3. nice... "it's like a big F'ing monitor strapped to your eyeballs" . lol.. yep!
  4. The other thing is mentioned here: "The unit will still get warm but the thermals have been improved. Flicker has been fixed, too." "So can one assume all of the units now being offerred for sale around the world at hp sales websites are now updated units? For instance the Reverb only went on sale in Australia last night for the first time and am hoping it is a revised version? Cheers and thanks for the updates :)" Voodooimaxx Correct. :)
  5. So I've noticed more 'cloudiness' lately, I'm wondering if this is mura. I notice it more on the PG map. Curious if anyone else noticed this too.
  6. I'm confused on if I should use auto or motionvector ?
  7. So, I was able to setup a 'repair' return - was told I'd get an updated unit as described here. I have a consumer version so I do have to send it back for repairs. Fingers crossed
  8. VR runs great for me. HP Reverb. 9700k OC to 5, 1080ti, 32 gigs. PD 1.0, SS 90% (default), MSAA x2
  9. Is there a tacview download by chance ?
  10. I'm curious about the lasso settings, if I change that is it just for DCS or will it effect everything ?
  11. Running 1080ti with Reverb - runs great. I do OC my i7 9700. PD 1.0, SS 100%, MSAA 2x looks great, runs great - couldn't be happier. Not sure how much a 2080ti would help - and I got this 1080ti for a good price.
  12. My biggest question is - what does HP have to say about issues outside of the connector. ie. I saw new units with a sleeve, but I am assuming they have no fixed or addressed the heat issues
  13. Same experience. The reality is, the Reverb is going to look better as it has a higher overall resolution (top in VR right now). Now, if HP can just iron out some of the initial issues (in particular for me is the amount of heat it generates - I have use a fan), it's a great headset. I should add, I use it sitting down 100% of the time for flight sims. I would not like the unit as much for standing VR games as the cable is quite heavy compared to Rift/Odyssey
  14. LOL best response ever. Man those Oculus fanbois are persistent aren't they ?
  15. How is the lighting where you fly ? I have a lamp I always keep on and I haven't had this issue (sorry responded when read post and didn't read other answers - but yes, my guess would be bad lighting)
  16. I highly recommend joining a squadron and get training. What timezone/country are you in ?
  17. My squadron flies the F15's - would like to hopefully see this implemented with the F-15/Su-27/Ja11, etc... Thanks for update @NineLine
  18. Sometimes my updates don't happen automatically so I've noticed if I switch bad to non-beta, then opt back into beta - it will update to latest
  19. Just to add, Reverb has it's faults, but when it comes to DCS clarity and resolution, it's fantastic
  20. I can't speak to the Index as I have only used Odyssey, Rift S and Reverb. The Reverb by far has the better resolution and clarity. Some simple examples: Rift S - F15 fuel, harder to make out, Reverb much clearer Reverb - BVR I can make out a single bandit dot contact in my target box at 20+ nm. Rift S was more of a blob and I couldn't see it out that far much less detail. Lastly I like to use my F15 refueling, Rift S then refueling lights were not clear at all I would have to zoom in for clarity. With Reverb it's clear with no zooming. All the text is very readable not blurry edges. Now, again I havent used the Index, but just go look at the spec sheet the Reverb resolution blows it away. I get all this with good frameratea - no messing with some third party Oculus Rift software. Simply setup SteamVR - for me, slider is at default reslotion, no messing around with "200%" - just don't need it. In games DCS, PD 1, MSAA 2x, extreme distance on. Solid 45 with motionreprojection on, 90 with it off.
  21. I have used Rift S and Reverb. Reverb by far is the better VR headset for simming in terms of clarity, spotting distant targets, etc... I'm really happy with the Reverb resolution.
  22. Question ... I have a USB-C port on my Mobo, should I use the adapter the VR came with or just continue with the usb-3 ?
  23. I called HP just to see what they would say. I was told the warranty doesn't cover the unit - only "parts" - then I was told I would be better off to return it and get a newer one. Also was told they would only "send me a refurbished one" Lol what a joke - glad my tape, fan, and cable ties are working...
  24. My question would be - if they are shipping updated 'fixed' units, has anyone tried contacting them to see if they would replace the older units ?
  25. Post that phone number here, we can all give them a call and let them know what we think.... :)
