The An-2 has ASh-62, not 82. It is quite different engine. If you look for plane with the same engine like La-7 has, then Il-14 or Mi-4.

Just only one note. ILS systems in DCS do not transmit A and N in morse code. They only transmit DOT and DASH like LORENZ blind landing system did. So, DETROLA receives only dot, dash or solid tone, depends on your position to landing centreline. Mosquito has LORENZ blind landing system receiver, R.I. compass, and it cooperate with modern ILS system in DCS. (Not IRL of course, but in DCS W does)
-
The Detrola receiver itself is functional in DCS. For both, the Mustang and the Thunderbolt, or it was. I think it was introduced with Mosquito. It is (was) practicable only on modern maps with ILS systems which serve as a A-N beacons, somehow... The detrola must by tuned in way that for example 110MHz ILS frequency is tuned as 210kHz on Detrola. Recently i was able to do it on Marianas map.

Fug-16 was radio communication device. FuG-25 was identification friend or foe device. So, they were not interchangeable, each had its own purpose.

The engine setting 1,7ATA / 3250RPM (Sondernotleistung 1900PS) was not posible for the engine with the MW-50. The engine with the MW had only "normal" Start u.Notleistung 1,5ATA / 3250 RPM (1770 PS) without the MW and 1,8ATA / 3250 RPM (Sondernotleistung 2100PS) with the MW.

Auto start does not switch On "Guvernor Automation" - auto RPM control. It is probably the reason for failure.

If you want skin in game core folder, proper place is: :\DCS World OpenBeta\CoreMods\WWII Units\MosquitoFBMkVI\Liveries\MosquitoFBMkVI

-5 had water injection, the biggest difference between them (even the last production -3s had it too) -5 had different windshield with simplified frame -5 had deleted small windows behind cockpit (early -5 had them) -5 had separate oil and intercooler flaps controls (-3 had one lever for both) -5 had capability to carry HVARs They had some minor difference between them in cockpit.

Will the airfields have radio homing beacons?
saburo_cz replied to Gunfreak's topic in DCS: Normandy 2.0
means lights, long row of lights with several cross-lines -
Modern DCS Marianas, island Guam, Andersen air base.
-
The island does not look like Tinian, it is Guam.
-
I had exactly the same question when video was released. It is not US base, US map from Summer 1945 does not show any base there. IMHO, it is not precisely placed 2nd Japanese airfield on Guam. North Field (later US Agana? ). But it is only my guess according to this map ...

What does our current Jugs need for a Pacific deployment?
saburo_cz replied to Barrett_g's topic in DCS: P-47 Thunderbolt
The P-47M had the same engines like the N models. Not like the D models with "field mods". In fact it was D-30 with the engine from N model. R-2800 "C" series instead of "B" series, it had higher maximal revolution 2800 vs. 2700 RPM. -

Unfortunately it is. The AFN-2 is useless without receiver. It is only indicator of the NDB with FuG-16. And that is all what the single seat LW fighter planes have in DCS W. If you want to know how these devices work and what they need, i would recomend this: -

It is pointless to have Lorenz blind landing system at airfiels in France. No one Luftwaffe plane in DCS W has receiver for that system. Much more suitable would be simple NDBs (German WWII). The FuG-16ZY with AFN-2 is the right device for them and is in all planes. (unfortunately it does not work properly in any) -

The Lorenz blind landing system could be also placed at RAF stations, old pre-war. Great Britain used this system as a SBA (Standard Beam Approach). I think GB bought licence for it before WWII. It was written in one book about air navigation, but without ani further details. The Mosquito has receiver for SBA in DCS W. -
Pilot could activate "forsazh" on the La-5FN for both supercharger's gears because "forsazh" had separate control lever. But it was prohibited for the second gear due to possible engine damage and supercharger weakness. This was impossible in the case of the La-7, with the same engine, due to "connecting rod", which controled "forsazh", connected with the superchatger control. So, when supercharger was set to 2nd gear this "connecting rod" close forsazh and reduced maximal possible MP to nominal value 1000 mmHG. am sorry, i do not have this picture in one piece.. and here is about installing that "forsazh connecting rod"

Well, when i read the last La-7 news i was thinking that you mixed together information about ASh-82F (La-5F) and ASh-82FN (La-5FN and La-7). You just proved that. btw. forsazh was allowed after engine been running for 10 hours on nominal power setting max, after that few modifications could be done to "open" 1200 mmHg/2500RPM (factory setting was only 1000 mmHg/2400 RPM) ... am looking forward to see this simulated in DCS W
-
With all respect, engine manual you preseted here says 5 minutes for "forsazh" (WEP). La-7 manual says 10 minutes.

1st column - serial production plane 2nd column - the same plane after upgrades (note 2) 3rd column - serial production plane 4th column - serial production plane Again plane No. 45210150 like above and plane No. 45210139.

saburo_cz replied to Barrett_g's topic in DCS: P-47 Thunderbolt
Planes with RF loops were only used in C.B.I. theatre by combat units. For Marianas we need early models, Razorbacks, with Bazooka rocket launchers which were used by VII AF there. -
Some Questions regarding P-47 minor details
saburo_cz replied to 303_Kermit's topic in DCS: P-47 Thunderbolt
It is because the turbo signalization has been changed with the D-25 model and later. Film one shows and is about older model than the D-25. -
Be sure that you have saved both folders with controls for the Mustangs, P-51D and P-51D-30-NA. (system / user / ... / saved games / DCS / Config / Imput / ... ) Your problem is probably connected with this issue.

Aux Hydraulic Hand-Pump Not Building Pressure
saburo_cz replied to Sport's topic in Bugs and Problems
You must set the flap handle to NEUTRAL position, without it all pressure produced by the emergency pump will move with flaps and will not pressurize hydraulic accumulator. Unfortunately even though you set the flap handle in to neutral position, it will behave weird and not correctly, you will see. -
