  1. Bought. Reading manual. Printing maps. Watching tutorial. Planning.
  2. Be prepared for some nice xwind recoveries on the carrier since it is not changing it's heading according to changing wind direction afaik.
  3. What an amazing week. Eight days to finish all four phases of this incredible mission. Super. One tough nut to crack was Hama Airfield - we were not able to call anything to help like it was possible with all the other bases. Dunno if intentional or why this place was just not in the list of bases the player is able to call support to. Anyways - thank you alot for creating this theatre. I will definetly come to see the next play!
  4. And just for clarification - only two spots to load cargo into the transport helicopters are the two existing farps london and paris? One can not 'advance' pick up points further 'to the front' like on new conquered airbases?
  5. Ok, after one day off, today we were able to finish phase one - an absolut blast I am having with that immersion of beeing part in an on going bigger conflict. This is the best PvE mission I played within the last 12 years. Gold.
  6. Ok, Huey overheated due to overloading - weapons and cargo. For what ever reason the weapons havn't been shown in F2 view. And yes, I double checked when I became aware of the temp problem... Now I flew a cargo mission without a flaw by telling ground crew to demount any weapons prior to the cargo mission. Dunno if Huey in this mission is intended for more combat or transport missions - mybe set empty weapon loadout as default? From what I see in the F10 map farp Paris is set to 172MHz? That frequency seems to be out of the Huey's radio freq ranges?
  7. 1. It might just be a bit dissapointing for a new player to spwan into a pile of rubble, that was more or less my point. I do like that was more or less my point. It was a bit unlucky though, that I was sitting at that spawn point for to long. I might move out of the covered stand next time before I program my waypoints. 2. looks like for the weapons I do need lat long coords anyways, so not a biggi. 3. Nice! 4. Will check it for another time, had no weapons loaded at that first attempt. 5. Very good, just wanted to be sure. Have to have a much better eye on those low level flights. Nice!
  8. For the 2nd time I joined an online server running it - I love the idea of the mission and it's complexity. One occasion - and I am just not sure if it is intended: Sitting in one FA18 in Ramat preparing the flight (programming waypoint of the task) I got attacked by a Su24 strike and killed, that attack collapsed the shelter. Unfortunately from now on these spawnpoints are no longer usable coz for obvious reasons you are now spawning into that pile of rubble rendering these spawnpoints useless. Now that we have the ability to enter waypoint coordinates as MGRS - can you add MGRS for the mission task (F4) coordinates to be able to use them? Awacs is beeing shot down quite often - I'd think it would fly with some cover as it is a really high value asset? Trying to ferry some cargo with the huey from farp paris - turbines got overheated mid flight - maybe the load is quite a bit to high for the hey at the temperatures of the area? I pretty much kept an eye on it but was flying with around 100knots and the gas gen was at or above red line, killing the engine. Are the red cap flights spawning mid air? Running a SEAD mission from carrier I got attacked and killed by a mig21 with no notice by awacs or dl (SA) page. Might be intended but mig21 is not know for its stealthiness Just a few thoughts. I am very much intersted in this mission so far - keep up the nice work!
  9. So the question will be - what is best for DCS? Will DCS make use of DLSS? From what I do understand so far is - and plz correct me if I got the wrong picture - that AMD uses/supports a more 'common' or in line with DX12 standard than nVidia trying to establish a maybe better but more 'proprietary' approach? So for me the choice atm would be 6800XT over RTX3080 - better price, better thermals and the more 'conservative' approach - more VRam instead fancy software/hardware solution?
  10. The forum got hacked? Is that a fall back/backup solution for ermergencies? When do we get back the right forum?
  11. And yes, here it is - 5900X beats 10900. Will be AMD for me finally. Best single core performance.
  12. I haven't played the Campaign since I bought V3.0, besides first release was awesome. So to be able to play through in the II would be doublenice for me. :) Also choosing suitable loadout (like the apkws(?)) in the ME should not be a problem, too... Now I've just got to remap all the hotas and keys for the II...
  13. Swapping A10C for A10CII within the mission editor - you can do it for yourself within minutes, no need for Baltic to do it imho. Therefore an overhaul with some new missions - the new laser guided rockets just fit to perfect - would be my choice...
  14. What Aluminium Donkey says! Why would you buy a BIGGER monitor with the same resolution? Makes absolutely no sense, imho. You just get bigger pixels -> you need more AA -> DCS MSAA is very hungry for more gpu power -> you waste money. Tune down AA (I switched the ingame MSAA off completely - check it just for to have an idea of HOW MUCH frames it is eating with your current hardware).
  15. I am running on a very budged sandy bridge 2500k, gtx1080 on an LG WQHD 3840 x 1600. I came from FullHD, via 1440p, now this wide format. All with the same compute, just the graphic card changed from 470gtx, via 970gtx to the 1080gtx. I would NEVER go back below 1440p. It is just so much more crispier without AA. I'd say - save all money you can for a decent monitor. Much better investment imho. Now with the prices of the new 30xx the used cards market will collaps. You can get 1080ti's for a few dollars I'd say. One cheap 4 core overclockable cpu and enough memory - I think this is all one needs for DCS.
  16. Just a question - but did you even tried to read through the "mission and campaign" part of this forum?
  17. This guys youtube channel is outstanding. For each and everybody how want to understand a little bit more about the why and how on modern fighter jets and technology: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVDkfkGRzo0qcZ8AkB4TMuw
  18. Hi guys, just got my new T-Pendulars. So far I am quite ok. BUT no matter what - I can't set up the toe brake axis to work properly. Actually I think that this is not a DCS problem, but from what I do believe a drivers issue. More precise - the zero position of the toe brake axis. DCS in general has one of the best axis assign/setup/adjust tools imho. So setting up that new device I had no problem. Just when I rechecked everything for proper use, I realized that the bakes jump from 0% to 50% as soon as you touch them - and just after 50% you have the "upper half" of the analog axis. Drivers properties show the following at my system: 1. opening properties - WRONG middle position of the rudders - that imho is already the mistake in the driver software! The drivers is setting or assuming zero brakes as 50%. 2. Touching the brakes - driver realizes the zero reading - showing 0% - all seems correct. Actually he might read a negative number or what ever internally.. 3. just barley touching the left rudder - reading jumps to 50%! (actually I believe he is reading a negative number and translates it to its internal zero position - the 50% output from the beginning. right rudder at physical 60% - driver is reading positive number - showing positive output ~60% readout - BUT only from the upper half of the rudder axis - so we are missing 50% physical axis travel! Can anybody confirm this? Is this the same in win10 as I am still running win7? What I did so far - re-calibrated with win7 tool - same behavior. Re-calibrated with the thrustmaster calibration tool - same behavior. Checked for the the newest firmware - it is actual (1.15) Thank you for your help! Hek
  19. Well in real combat you kill people. You don't want to get killed - so you use drones, B52 and all the 'effective' stuff to kill. Technology. The crossbow renders the mighty knight useless.. But you got what I think. Maybe next mission - I like the surprise. Using brain and skill and that old school stuff (or at least I have that feeling :) ) You see, in RL I so much better like to fly gliders (as sailplanes) then cessnas or pipers... ;)
  20. Got all 8, landed back in Kish, was able to talk to ground crew without a problem... Sry for the hassle... But I really don't know what I could have done other this time then the first time. Anyways - had ALOT of fun with this - and the good thing is - was just the 1st! Happy me. Thank you!
  21. Hmm - at mission start I CAN use normal F8 radio to talk to the ground crew, ask for R&R. So it is something else. I tried at parking spot and after taxiing to the far end of the line of parked F15s to be sure it has nothing to with the soldiers you placed close to the spot where one begins...
  22. CBUs.. waaay to powerful :) - especially these 97s :) Dropping iron ccip wise imho is more fun... so I usually tend to go with the mission designers loadout.. Flying these with latest 2.5.6 Reading the buildings icons as 'russian' out of F10 map was just my first idea of why I wasn't able to R&R or even get the chokes on the wheels... Maybe some sort of ground units have to be present as with the farps? Tbh I am just guessing as I haven't used the mission designer a long time.. In Kish I was parking right beside one of the F15s...
  23. First line is what I am running atm. This is almost 10 years old - of course you do not want something like this anymore - all I am saying is, that I am running my system with good results STILL. Just to pronounce that DCS does not need that much cpu power. All (fast single thread performance, 4+ cores) you can buy as of now will get you sufficient cpu power. The point is that I doubt that as of now you will see noticeable performance gain buying a 3900 vs a 3600. 200$ I'd invest in better hotas or graphics card.
  24. Hmm, 2nd pass, this time my wingman got engaged by SAM so he jettisoned all AG weapons to evade the missiles. I had to send him home. I decided to use all my loadout on site one, killed all units there - got back to Kish - but unfortunately was not able to rearm- refuel. Nor use any ground crew - engine running and shut off. Shouldn't one be able to R&R at home base? Checking on F10 map for a reason why I can not R&R I see building icons belong to russia - maybe in the logic of the game Kish is still red? I am not that much into the mission editor. Ok, next attempt, this time I will give the Hornets some more time to work with the SAMs...
  25. Just finished the 1st Mission and yes, killed all the Silkworm launchers and additional targets on sight. Made it back to Kish, landed her safe - proud me. But instead mission success I learned to have lost the whole campaign... Poor me.. So I'd really prefer if you could lower the conditions for mission success - at least I shot all the targets mentioned in the briefing, so I believed... Or maybe you can point out in the briefing a bit more clear, that one has to kill ALL units on site to progress... Ok, meanwhile I'll jump right back into the Falcon to run that mission again. Like it!
