Got it. Thanks for clarifying the problem instead of being smartass.:)

It's a bit sad to look skins section in forums. Nobody seems to make them anymore for axis planes..i understand that K4 and D9 have some years under the belt but now the game is looking better than ever. Anton is one of the best looking 3d models out there and only couple of skins available. Stock skins are very good but some varitety would be welcome. Allied planes have some excellent new skins fortunately. I wish i had talent and/or time to learn to make them myself

What exactly you mean? Raditor switch, why do you think it should not work irl? I just flew couple of lights and worked fine.
-
Works fine for me.

Hmm..i i wonder it too. Maybe it's because you are right and eveybody else is wrong? Or could it, by any possibility be other way around. It is pity that you avoid them, but problem is in your end really, not in FM of DCS.

Great job! Looks really good, thanks for sharing. -
The way i see it, that stick force modelling should absolutely stay in name of realism, but it should be tuned. Thing is, that while with current limitation we can fly 109 just fine and it doesen't block anything critical, it is not entirely realistic as the way it is now, at lower speeds. Real pilot could pull or push stick fully front or back at 0-350km/h (probably after that too) immeditially IF he wanted, by using both hands. It doesen't matter would this be sane or would plane just stall etc, it's just the fact that if he would want to do it, he could. We cant in game, or we can but it takes way too long to do it. It's like the stick was put to bucket full of glue or something, It just feels wrong. I have said it before, i believe that current modelling at higher speeds (+450km/h) is just fine and feels correct to me compared to documents/memoirs etc. It just would need some tuning at lower speeds to make it great.

A humble opinion how should DSC WWII scene develop in future years
DB 605 replied to tapi's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
This, and 150 grade fuel to allies. These changes alone would make this sim so much better together. -
Really well done video! Graphics of this sim are getting epic.

It's because of the way DCS is modelling the stick forces. Bf 109 was well known for this behaviour at high speeds, stick forces grown so much that pilot can't pull or push stick fully back or front. You have to use trim to be able to recover from high-speed dive for example. Stick forces in DCS 109 are modelled after soviet test trials with G model 109 but some people (like me) believe that current implementation is exaggerated at lower speeds. Most of the test repots mention high stick forces after +550km/h. https://forums.eagle.ru/forum/english/dcs-world-war-ii/dcs-bf-109-k-4-kurf%C3%BCrst/200999-bf-109-g-and-further-level-flight-trim-zero-trim-dive-recover-forces-etc

Just my annual check of this minor bug, yep after 4 years it's still there. Maybe some year...

I totally agree here, and Yo-Yo has explained quite well where his calculations are based. But i still believe something went wrong at some point. For example with current low speed high stick forces it's nearly impossible to use evasive maneuver wich was popular with real 109 pilots (you can read this from multiple memoirs), push the stick fully (as much as you can) forward and give rudder at same time, forcing the attacker to overshoot and manouver was nearly impossible to follow. Try that in DCS 109 for example at 400km/h even with full nose-heavy trim, and you're soon dead meat because your movement will be so slow that any other fighter will be able to follow you easily. Also most of the test report notes elevator responsiveness at lower speeds is praised, that's not exactly the feel you get now in DCS. Couple quotations from british performance and handling tests: "Flying Controls.—The flying controls have excellent response and " feel " at low speeds, but are far too heavy for manoeuvring at high speeds." and "it handles well and has excellent response to the controls at low speeds, all the controls become far too heavy at speeds in excess of 300 m.p.h., " As said before, i have no problem at high speed stiffness, that agrees pretty much everyting i've read, and other than than slow speed stiffness i really enjoy of flying the DCS 109 and other warbirds too. Development is slow and sometimes very painful to wait but step by step this game is getting better and better, looking forward to damage model/ AI update and hopefully new clouds too.

Big thanks for the new sounds from me too, superb job! Fly-by's are lovely now  No need for sound mods anymore.

Unfortunately i have to agree the criticism here. Had very long pause of playing this sim, decided to give it a go to see how it feels now. For 109, stick forces at slow speeds seems to be exaggerated compared to all books i've read about it. Currently even as slow as 350km/h elevator control feels rubberish and it takes too long (from virtual pilot) to push or pull the stick full to front for example. I don't use any curves and i have "full lenght" joystick. I have no problem with forces at higher speeds as 109 is well known for this behaviour but i really hope some re-check for forces at lower speed would be done. Until then it just feels weird and doesen't compare very well for real life accounts. Wich is sad especially because otherwise DCS 109 feels the most complete/accurate Messer in any sim so far in my opinion.

Actually button for using two hands would be pretty good idea. I personally think that way the stickforces are implemented with high speeds now is fine, but forces just affect way too early. With zero trim, or even trimmed to full nose-heavy, as slow as 300-350km/h, pushing stick fully forward takes couple of seconds. So pilot probably use only one hand at the moment, and i believe he doesn't even lift...

Can a BF109k4 use a 500kg bomb?
DB 605 replied to greco.bernardi's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
I have not my literature in my hands now, but if i remeber correct K4 was around 150kg heavier than G10 for example. What is your source for tailwheel modification reason? All of my sources says primary reason for tall tailwheel was indeed to have less taxiing angle to aid TO/landings (it was compared to FW 190 wich has 2 degrees less angle before modification). -
Yes, thats how it should be.

Dear ED, could you please finally fix this little graphical bug after all these years? It's not a big thing but it's wrong anyways, and should not be big deal to fix it. So, extendet flare shield for left side only, thanks.

I had to test it after reading your "report". Probably year or so when i last flew it. Anyhow, i found it absolutely same as before. Very easy to take-off and land, delighful to fly. I honestly didn't noticed any changes in FM.

does this aircraft is gonna get more updates?
DB 605 replied to aldox's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
Please don't compare that piece of junk for DCS model. WT's exterior is FAR from correct. It's like comparing some old Revell model kit from 60's to latest Tamiya kit. While DCS k4 is missing couple of things, it still have best external model of 109 in any sim to date. Of course some updating would be nice as it starts to show it's age after these years. -
Fw190 performance:5 dogfight:4 air to ground:3 Bf109 performance:5 dogfight:4.5 air to ground:2 Spitfire performance:4 dogfight:4 air to ground:3 Mustang performance:4.5 dogfight:4 air to ground:4 IIRC Mustang should have overhaul at some point, if it will have higher boost settings and/or different fuel (i have not followed discussions lately so i don't know what the latest news are about those) performance will probably rise to 5.

Eurpean thatre : Normandy Approrpiate Bf109?
DB 605 replied to Kev2go's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
Don't tell anyone, but i'm pretty sure most of the 109 fans out there (me included) would buy G14 in a heartbeat. Same goes to A8. With DCS level of system modelling/FM etc i'll buy every ww2 plane they build even if i only can fly them around and learn to master them. Of course i too hope other improvements come and there will be actual DCS ww2 game with missions etc to play some day... -

Awesome mod, many thanks for this! DCS has never been this smooth in my system after i bought oculus  -
Hello jafa, do you still have plans for Daimler-benz and Jumo sounds? Loving both Merlins very much, thanks for your work!
