  1. Recently I've played on few servers and I see rarely CA units to control. Even if, it is almost always Ural, BTR and other poors. I want TOR, OSA, Strela, Tunguska to kill flying crafts. Where are good old times when you laughed at face of poor A-10C's player when he just had eaten missile? I very well remember hiding my OSA behind 11 floor buildings near Sotchi because two Hogs chased me.... that was the strong point of having CA, not just control BTR in the middle of nowhere on the map WTF
  2. I am going to change when EDGE comes out to jugde its performande first :P So ya sayin' I don't need newer card, just with bigger RAM amount? TO be honest I play FPS games on highest details without problems, only DCS is always one big issue in performance terms.

  4. Well I am sure ED masterminds know they cannot let themselves to make EDGE PC demanding too much. Now game is on its limits, newer "engine" must be much more friendly than present one. I have i5 3.4 Ghz, 8 GB DDR3, 1 GB GT560Ti overclocked and still suffer from lags, shutters, often browsing planes in F2 camera takes ages to respond. It is disaster.

In all videos and pics provided by claiming it to be "shkval" it seems its quality is really low - in this movie object is 2-3 km and it looks bad so I more less imagine how it would look like in 10 km :D I don't know if ED knew what is the real resolution of this system in Ka-50 when they were modelling module. Regarding 250 being too low - again the video and pics aren't too good evein in such close object, so perhaps?
  11. Todays PC have a lot of power, they are mostly limited only by programmers will and their financial resources. We don't have to do image processing of whole area visible by Shkval, only center of it (gate size) because the target is always in the center, just gate size changes. I've heard it could be even lower, around 256 lines. Regarding quality we have now Full HD standard in DCS. It is wrong, I don't know why they don't want to degrade quality of image, if even in old FC1 it was more realistic by just layered filter which degraded resolution. Same goes for Ka-50.
  12. Yes, they say real time image processing is too high CPU hungry for now. It is weird as in Ka-50 times and other lawn mowers - 1980-1990 era computers installed in these helicopters were slower than nowadays cell phones. Regarding size of Shkval gate and locking - I think there is bug because try to set it at minimum size and lock object far away. It will do but how is it possible if resolution of whole system is really low - how could it distinguish "pixels" in locked gate size which are not contrast enough in such distance? As far I know in reality it could lock road trepassing (white "zebra"), puffy cloud ect. I don't know how it can keep lock on something when angle of view changes - so the image in buffer which is used to compare is old. There must be some kind of margin..... and that all with very weak CPU when we look from today's POV.

  14. Grimes long time ago I tried to make ships flyable. I could achieve putting on ground, rivers, moving them but the **** I couldn't make them flyable even setting high parameters for ship class. So it seems to be hardcoded somehow, so plane class will always be treated as flyables, ground as non-flyable? My idea was to make flying ships - carriers as base op HQ, a'la startrek. They could fire and defend themselves. Due to high and speed Su-25T could land and take off from deck too.
  15. Yesterday I saw only 5 servers, then got mad and started clicking New search button all the time and every second I got other amount. Once 3, once 5, once 8. When finally saw 104th I got famous connection interrupted error and DCS crash. I guess it is better to wait for DCS 2.0 than fixing non-ending issues in current game stasis.

  18. Hey, in previous DCS World releases I could control Shkval axes via mouse. Now I cannot assign it again. Does anyone know how to modify files and allow mouse to be used again for Shkval control in Su-25T?

  20. When I played FC, sometimes I tried to fire ER beyond its range, purposely making it waste missile due to known reasons. However quite often of these cases opponent thought - WTF so early - and after while he panicked and tried to move right\left so on while I was closing enough. Rest of procedure is known. However for more advanced players it was fouly, they knew it was bluff.
  21. Ja, I got PS3 Eye. Got 60 FPS but FreeTrack after some time makes lags. Response is getting slower and slower - it doesn't mean delay after 1 hour will be i.e 3 seconds - no. But it is far away than beginning. FreeTrack app is abandomed, FaceTrack is far from perfect. I decided to spend euros and I'd do that again despite what I've said about NP and it's ridicoulus price for TiR.
  22. I've been long user of Freetrack, then tried to use FaceTrack and others. Finally bought TiR 5 as was tired of low FPS of Freetrack orFaceTrack (I have good camera anyway). Difference is clearly - TIR annihilates any other solution I tried. It just works as it should - smooth, precisely and great. I paid 100 EUR and if I had had the opportunity to spend this money again - I would have bought it.
  23. I totally abandoned DCS since almost year I think, waiting for 2.0 to solve and get finally normal graphics, without weird colors and very low FPS.
  24. So the rest of weight is what? Armor?
