  1. I just wanted to express what kksnowbear just said ^ here. There are usually better, more accessible and more personal options available. The less you know the more important personal trust and accessibility is needed, something none of the big and far away ones can offer, as much as they'd like to do. In short words, support your local heroes.
  2. kksnowbear is 99.9% right here. The more you are into IT and service contracts with bigger companies you know what to expect and what not and sometimes you have to be a PITA for them to get them moving and fixing things. But, not all are alike. Dell Server Help ( if you paid for it first place ! )or MS365 Azure is pretty well as good as it can get, many others are far below that standard and reaction time. A company like Corsair, cmon...you gotta be joking, I dont even take that serious. Thats a relabel company for Mice, Keyboards, RAM and AIO's..and yeah Cases ! Not a true IT support business, neither are most of the others but none comes cheap. They usually dont have the expertise for the OS, Firmware, drivers etc... Something you can't easily hire with 3 employees and establish a new branch office.
  3. That's like way over 2K US$ above a very solid DIY PC You could pay some techie a ticket and manage a 3-5 day stay for that much money but have all options on hardware...LoL If I was w/o family and maybe 20 years younger I'd say, a ticket a Burger and a sleeping bag. what a rip off
  4. Which version of Win11 are you running ? which updates have been installed last few days ? Any FW Upgrades available for any of your components ? like ssd/nvme, bios, peripherie Just some points to look at
  5. 1: Don't buy pre-built unless you can select each and every screw they use or you get screwed, matter of fact. 2: Any effort you spend in educating yourself during this process will payback in the future many times over. 3: You aren't the first one this forum convinces to dare the forum-assisted DIY project. Many forum members have great advice ( as seen above ) and should have said enough meanwhile why to avoid the pre-built PC.
  6. iIRC BigNewy said it uses up to 16 threads for graphics alone.
  7. FWIW, since I had terrible sagging and temp issues with my former 980GTX I have moved to vertical mounting and never had such problems again. OK, it's ~75€ expense for the kit but well worth it, trouble free. ...and it looks great
  8. OK, where we're heading ?? Fidschi ?
  9. I don't think, even if it was for whatever reason demanded, it would work since you add a lot of rubber band. Definitely not what you need for a Jet Sim. VPN's isolate your traffic from the rest of the network they are flowing in with the following idea behind it: Keep your data packets encrypted and thus invisible for bored router admins or any attacker along the way. A common scenario is HomeOffice -->VPN -->Company or Internetcafe--> VPN-->www. If you would not use any sort of encryption anyone could read the traffic between your homeoffice-desktop and the company server while working from home ( easy explanation to keep it simple ) or read your traffic while you surf the net via public hotspot ( untrusted infrastructure ). You can also use VPN and a Proxy together to hide your identity, but that is a different use case of VPN where VPN encrypts the data and large ( the larger the better ) proxies randomize your traces....something I would not trust if I had something serious to hide, but that is another topic all together. Fact is, VPN is a burden, adds lag and complexity, only use it when you need it and FPS or latency sensitive games in general will suffer from the added latency. I use 3 different VPN's for my work when I connect to other companies and each of them has it's + & - in what it can do, what it demands and if it is for free or licensed, using all variants and none adds no latency and tbh, it's not bad if you know some networking if you deal with them daily.
  10. A: Create a new, admin enabled, user account and check... B: Boot with all Start-Up apps disabled, check... note the exact time stamp and dig through ms-logs to find a hint.... it's a tiny little but nasty switch ..somewhere
  11. I was in a similar boat just recently, just 1 tier below, 7800XT vs. 4070, and I opted for AMD and don't regret it. The GUI is different, needs some time, Gsync is then FreeSync ( make sure your screen supports it, mine didn't so I had to buy a new FreeSync screen ). Nvidia has more support, that is 1 thing still to consider, their market share is just overwhelming.
  12. My 1. son was born 1 week before it happened and I fed him while I watched TV until suddenly the program changed and seconds later I knew, my son will grow up in a much different world, not as peaceful as 1946-2000 was. Ever since I remember that afternoon (local time). You must not forget !
  13. FWIW: Almost always getting full 1-Gbit download speed. ED is usually faster than Steam in my world when it comes to DL`s.
  14. Boot some Linux and see what it does in another OS. Can tell you a lot, I would, regardless of your issue, uninstall Asus ArmoryCrate Software...and never ever touch it again until Asus sorts their Software. IT's been terrible ever since it launched.
  15. So I got that screen yesterday and so far I am pleased with it. Colors and contrast are for sure not as good as OLED but is sufficient for my needs, actually HDR is great and the colors in general are MUCH better than my old TN screen. For that price, 359€, it's quite good imho...and finally I have a linux screen again since my old one refused to work with an AMD card under any Linux.... that's the downside of true Gsync I guess. Anyway, I can recommend this screen, no obvious downsides so far, fast, clear, bright and no tearing from 40-180Hz, all I need.
  16. ....ever thought about imaging your System ?
  17. After days and nights looking for a screen I ended up ordering this one: https://rog.asus.com/de/monitors/27-to-31-5-inches/rog-strix-xg27acg/ It's not OLED but other than that it fulfills what I want for half the price, 359€ incl. taxes Will be here next Tuesday from amazon ( again cheaper than all my wholesale contacts ). Will report how I feel about it once in use...
  18. Look for 2 part Epoxy bottles and then use some Thixotropy powder like this https://www.r-g.de/art/210120. You can also add cotton flakes, glass bubbles and many other materials to alter the consistency of your epoxy glue. Whatever you add usually lowers the bonding strength but may give other benefits, like better sanding when dried etc... In my ac tive R/C days I used all sorts of Epoxy, 5min, 30min, 12h and 24h curing time and if my best friend back then hadn't been a professional mold maker I would have never gotten into all those glues and when you use which one for best results. It's not complicated but you can have better results if you pick the right stuff. Usually, all fast curing Epoxy remains some flexibility and the longer they need to cure the more glass hard like they become ( better for sanding/finish ) 5min is a First Aid Epoxy with not the best strength ( flows like Jam, stiff ) 30min is an all around Epoxy, still hard to sand if needed but good strength ( more fluent then above ) 12h strong bonding ( fluent, good sanding ) 24h best bonding, almost glass hard, best for sanding and/or finishing fiberglass cloth, very thin liquid. All but the 5min can be hardened by heat or the sun. Always use a 0.1gr scale or a syringe to measure Epoxy before mixing, mix with a tool as mixing by hand usually does not result in the same quality of "mixed struff in your pot". Wear googles when you mix the pot with a L-shaped hook on your Dremel ! It really matters and you can see the result 2 weeks after when you "clean" the mixing pot for reuse. A good mix is 100% dry and cured, badly mixed epoxy stays sticky forever.
  19. I got me this 7800XT a month ago and cant complain, coming from a 1080ti. You need some hours playing with FSR and AMFM and what they do and how they do it but once I goit that sorted and disabled 1 CCD I am finally happy with this card. I highly recommend a VRR Monitor with AMD FreeSync. Mine is not as it only supports native Gsync and I am forced to buy a new one to enjoy smoother gameplay. Once you had Gsync or FreeSync and get stranded with none of them you really appreciate what they do, take a lot of strain from your eyes and brain.
  20. ^This FYI: it's located in Windows Defender Settings That, and Ransomware Protection, are the usual culprit's if drivers or apps/games don't behave as expected.
  21. OK, I see. Thing is, I am gonna buy it from wholesale and the return policy for B2B is virtually not existent. As a dealer you should know what you order, kinda like that mindset. The Glossy panel is another thing I am not sure if it works as intended. I have a pretty dark room but what if I move to another room where there is more light, etc... Jesus, I wish they only had 3 models 200-300-400 Euro . That would make my life easier LoL I play alot of FS22 these days and FS25 is due in November with better graphics etc.. So I thought that's a reason to give my TN panel to my son, he's an FPS gamer anyway and doesnt care about colours too much yet...and I can enjoy DCS Sunset flights and my FS25 Harvest in OLED quality, I really like OLED since I had my first OLED on my iPhone, it is SUCH a difference in colours and black, it's another level than TN.
  22. Thanks LucShep, That's the review I read when I stumbled across that SKU, indeed very deep and covers all aspects. Since I read a lot on the screen I may wait and look a bit more at other models. They all seem to have 1 thing I dont like, either 300cdm only, curved, TN panel or something else....LoL need to invest more research
  23. Planning on a new monitor with AMD Freesync since mine only does true Gsync. After many hours of research I found this screen https://rog.asus.com/de/monitors/27-to-31-5-inches/rog-strix-oled-xg27aqdmg/ in german or https://rog.asus.com/us/monitors/27-to-31-5-inches/rog-strix-oled-xg27aqdmg/ in english. My question is the text readability, it is for sure superb for gaming but some reviews mention the sub-pixel layout was a topic that you either dislike if you sense it/see it and others don't bother. I am eager to hear 1st hand experience for daily work, Mail-Surfing-Teamviewer sort of thing. Any feedback welcome I want to stay at 1440p, 27" but I am open for suggestions regarding type and brand, budget up to ~700€
