  1. ^This FYI: it's located in Windows Defender Settings That, and Ransomware Protection, are the usual culprit's if drivers or apps/games don't behave as expected.
  2. OK, I see. Thing is, I am gonna buy it from wholesale and the return policy for B2B is virtually not existent. As a dealer you should know what you order, kinda like that mindset. The Glossy panel is another thing I am not sure if it works as intended. I have a pretty dark room but what if I move to another room where there is more light, etc... Jesus, I wish they only had 3 models 200-300-400 Euro . That would make my life easier LoL I play alot of FS22 these days and FS25 is due in November with better graphics etc.. So I thought that's a reason to give my TN panel to my son, he's an FPS gamer anyway and doesnt care about colours too much yet...and I can enjoy DCS Sunset flights and my FS25 Harvest in OLED quality, I really like OLED since I had my first OLED on my iPhone, it is SUCH a difference in colours and black, it's another level than TN.
  3. Thanks LucShep, That's the review I read when I stumbled across that SKU, indeed very deep and covers all aspects. Since I read a lot on the screen I may wait and look a bit more at other models. They all seem to have 1 thing I dont like, either 300cdm only, curved, TN panel or something else....LoL need to invest more research
  4. Planning on a new monitor with AMD Freesync since mine only does true Gsync. After many hours of research I found this screen https://rog.asus.com/de/monitors/27-to-31-5-inches/rog-strix-oled-xg27aqdmg/ in german or https://rog.asus.com/us/monitors/27-to-31-5-inches/rog-strix-oled-xg27aqdmg/ in english. My question is the text readability, it is for sure superb for gaming but some reviews mention the sub-pixel layout was a topic that you either dislike if you sense it/see it and others don't bother. I am eager to hear 1st hand experience for daily work, Mail-Surfing-Teamviewer sort of thing. Any feedback welcome I want to stay at 1440p, 27" but I am open for suggestions regarding type and brand, budget up to ~700€
  5. Linux drivers exist for Nvidia, sure. When you use Ubuntu or Mint it's just a few clicks and a reboot. I would certainly test that GPU in another system, non-Intel 13+14th gen, but also test your system with Linux. They server different purposes, Linux tests if Windows is the culprit, another system with your GPU tests your GPU, both is helpful to do so you can exclude things.
  6. kksnowbear, is there any way you can stay strictly on the topic and not get into this useless ego thing ? It is not helping in any way.
  7. is there any chance that you have a degraded Intel 13th gen 65w+ CPU ? When I read your specs it says 13700KF, and iirc that SKU is affected. Try your card in another PC ( preferably NOT an affected Intel CPU as well ) but you must also stress test it in yours to be able to compare. The way it hangs up, not a sudden reboot but a true hanger, makes me think it is not the GPU or power delivery, it's deeper.
  8. I stopped reading your Ego battle guys, help the OP or have a DCS dogfight like true Gentleman LoL how about that ?! imho you should try another OS installation or OS all together. It could be many things, many many ways to go south. If it was my time and my job to fix it, I'd stresstest it as it is and if it fails, do the same in Linux. If it fails there too, you got a HW problem. If it doesn't it's a settings issue or driver issue, one of the many windows things.... try a new account, prefer the real administrator, end all 3rd party apps, stresstest it, if it fails again, reinstall windows and test test test along installing your apps to see when the error moves in if you havent found the culprit by then. or Take the card and test it in another PC or 2 that is/are known to be stable otherwise. If it fails, RMA the GPU. When I had my 1080ti it sometimes caused a sudden reboot with certain drivers over the many years. It was always fixed with either a newer or older driver . if it runs 100% elsewhere and now does this it might very well be the last thing you changed, the NV driver. It happened with 1-2 drivers per year over 5 years using the 1080ti. I know run this 7800XT and had 2 sudden reboots in a month with the latest driver, mildly gaming btw but not with the latest beta driver with AFMF support. The card was under no stress as I was driving tractors in FS22 LoL, like 30-50% GPU usage. The beta driver fixed whatever FS22 doesn't like with the current release driver. I dont care what, it's fixed and nailed. It could well be such a thing with yours. Stresstest the card and machine to brute force a HW issue showing up. Furmark and prime95 together, it must be able to do this or you have an issue, at least for 10-15mins. ..or Aida64 Suite if you own it.
  9. Indeed, some stress testing was nice and if you have the knowledge, install Linux and Steam with DCS and see if it reproduces in Linux as well ( DCS does work in Linux with Steam/Proton )
  10. Fry that thing with prime95 asap and teach Intel a lesson, that's my 1st idea...and the one I would choose. Then, sell the new CPU that you get in an unopened box, sell the board...and say THANK YOU to Intel. Actually, I would try to get a refund and not another doomed CPU, so you only have to do something meaningful with the board, maybe a sub-65w box for NAS or the living room. This is outright wrong to handle it this way and I think some people will sue Intel for this, more sooner than later
  11. Keep the processed data close to the core, this is not a new thing, by far not. It has always been part of the server CPU layout and very often in mobile "laptop" CPU's too to compensate for the lower MHz. AMD just took it a step further ( also in their server CPUs )
  12. Still, after all those words, I don't regret a single Intel machine I haven't build since Ryzen emerged, 100% AMD and they are all happy, from ol' Granny to my friends sons gaming rig. I personally got fed up with Intel systems after the myriad of Patches, Bios' and IME-Fw_Upgrades to remedy Meltdown and Spectre disaster. For most users; I dare to say 80+%, it doesnt matter if their PC scores 27135 Points, 29k points or just 21k, they hardly ever need that much raw computing power. What matters more is TCO and that is directly connected to the amount of headache and grey hair a system causes... thank you Intel.....ok...I can skip the hair dresser now LoL
  13. Ya, OK, that's a solution for Bios Junkies and natural born fiddlers like us...BUT what about average Joe's CPU ? Oh man, this is gonna get ugly soon..
  14. Sometimes you can spped memory training up by adding 0.01-0.03v if you are running the "stock" EXPO voltage. I have and had several systems were fine adjustment of the fed voltage was greatly improving my time till I heard the "Beep" when fiddling with RAM. There is a window in which they will function and that window might have s sweet spot for fast recognition. Worth trying with a few boots.
  15. NO ONE, absolute ZERO people, with common sense would now buy any Intel CPU that may fit your gaming needs. Honestly, 0,00%
  16. Yep, that was bound to come. What a fiasco, let's wait and see how this develops.
  17. You will need to explain a bit more to get some answers, just saying...
  18. If I had such a CPU, make it so it can be RMA'ed, sell the board and go to the "other" company. Honestly, would you feel comfortable with a CPU that can fail any moment ? Damocles comes to my mind
  19. My rule of thumb is: Fastest Drive: Main Apps ( Games, Adobe, CAD etc... ) 2nd fastest Drive: OS 3rd tier: cold Data ( files like images, pics, movies, any cold storage and/or Backups) It does not harm if all 2,3 or more drives are the same full speed but no worry if you only have 2 drives, the difference is marginal to not measurable for DCS and 64GB system imho. If you have more than 2 drives, put the PF on the third drive ( not OS, not DCS ), unless it's an old HDD or a very slow SSD, then better put it on the OS drive and leave DCS alone.
  20. Indeed, grab 64GB and go bigger than 1TB for DCS, 2 or 4 TB is more adequate. No need to pay THAT much for Win11, check guru3d.com website for example, they have plenty adds that let you buy Win11 for a fraction of what you listed. Tbh, haven't bought any MS license the "old" way for years, and it's 100% legal.
  21. The really problematic thing is that, as explained in 8auer's video, you cannot trust them ( the CPU, actually Intel too imho ) anymore, not further than from now to 1 second ahead, if at all. And as I said before, I dont think DCS users will be helpless, we are among the few percent that usually know PC's, it's the womanwith 3 kids next door, the old man down the road, novice users.... Intel must reach out and take them by the hand. I fear they will only do this if forced by law and a judge and then only as far as they must to avoid penalty payments. They knew it was their own fault and still blamed others.... Der 8auer left that part out. Better if he still wants to be able to phone Intel up and expect them to not hang up 1st second LoL Any 13th or 14th CPU above 65w is doomed...and maybe more SKU's... time will tell, what a freaking show from Intel LoL
  22. I watched Der 8auer's video last night regarding this topic and it was eye opening. 1: Any CPU already showing symptoms cannot be fixed, period ! Intel's POV btw. 2: Market value of used 13th/14th CPU is null. No one knows how long a CPU will run before it has degraded too far. They face a hard time...Intel needs to come with a solution for this dilemma. It's not done and good is like with Meltdown/Spectre, this is a different beast. I am sooo happy I havent touched ANY new Intel since Ryzen emerged.
  23. Is there any law suit against Intel in this matter ? It just can't be that you buy a faulty product and are left alone w/o a proper fix. Intel should step up and recall them all, nothing else accepted imho.
  24. ....or open the trash can and end that drama. I would not feel comfortable with any of those CPU's in my system no matter what kind of Microcode or Bios update may come as the praised solution to fix it all. Imho, if it was voltage alone, why did it take soooo long to find that simple dial to fix them all ??? something is not right
  25. Good choice, my 2nd system, or better said my young son's rig, is my old 8700k with an Asus Z370 chipset and it was anything but RAM friendly. If they don't boot or BSOD, try 2x 32GB and avoid 4 modules on Asus Z370 ROG boards, they are known to be tricky with 4 sticks and another complication on top, like low latency or fast MHz... My 3600 16-16-16-16-26 kit only runs at 3000 without BSOD's, 3200 works almost but still occasionally shows BSODs, anything higher wont even boot the OS . If I take 2 sticks out and just run 2 of them, they work with 3600 XMP right away, and fly north of 4000 with some extra Volts... just not 4 modules. Mind that when you encounter errors, try just 2 on A2 and B2 and see if that works as intended.
