Hi jpdesvals, I am waiting to redo this mission and I will but the scriptengine since 1.2.16? has to many serious bugs to be able to create workarounds. So unfortunately I can not do anything about it. Sorry..

mouse + trackir difficult to use
piXel496 replied to olidz's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Although trackir is very personal, I find speed 1 and smoothing 30 a comfortable setting to not have parkinson jitter while flipping a switch (especially high smoothing helps). To dampen headmovement and have exact control I lower the curves in the center for yaw, pitch and roll and even lower center for x,y and Z. . -
Eurofighter seat with a hidden liquor cabinet?

I very much would like exactly the same! :)

ok, getID does not work in MP. But with a small workaround the script now works. Also on client side in MP. I realy hope scripting gets some debug attention in the near future from the DCS magicians. Anyway first post updated and it works. .
-
good question...:wassat: Technically it should but scripting has become a slippery place, so I can't tell for sure. I am startingup and update DCS on my second computer now. .

@ sFalcon _shootingPlayer:destroy() currently crashes DCS on my side. If it worked as suppost the plane is removed silently and the player becomes a spectater in the lobby. @Razorback[NL] howTo in 4 steps: Then you have created a trigger that is fired once at the first second of the mission and runs the script. From then on the script-snipped takes over and acts everytime when someone pulls the trigger of there canon. .
-
Hi sFalcon, To kick a shooting player back to the lobby would be: _shootingPlayer:destroy(). That was my prefered method to cleanly remove an offender but the function ":destroy()" is broken. And I don't know how to "script-force" eject a player. .

Dear server admins, When hopping free flight servers I noticed the new hip is shooting at other players. It is nice to see that the DCS online community is growing, but the infantile need some guidance as long as slmod does not work. Maybe a simple (do script) trigger in the mission could help for the time being: noGunsEvHandler = {} function noGunsEvHandler:onEvent(_shooting) if _shooting.id == world.event.S_EVENT_SHOOTING_START then local _offender = _shooting.initiator sanction(_offender) end end world.addEventHandler(noGunsEvHandler) function sanction(_shootingPlayer) local _plrName = _shootingPlayer:getPlayerName() trigger.action.explosion(_shootingPlayer:getPoint(), 1) --trigger.action.outText(_plrName .." do NOT shoot! Thank you..", 1) --uncomment if you want a message end Thx for hosting. Example mission attached. noGunsExample_V2.miz

It's a good nervous, like positive speculations and could it be true? Maybe the f18 thread is vanished from chit-chat, but I think this thread will be there soon enough.. And in that clip with the CVN 74. In the night sky I could clearly recognize the star constellations: Hydra, Centaurus and Apus. That means it must be in the Perzian Gulf. Probably Strait of Hormus. :suspect: _____

Is there a reason why albums with images under my profile are gone. I have not deleted them and can't find the albums in any menu. Did anyone else notice this? .

Tri monitors or 48" Curved TV
piXel496 replied to Cowboy10uk's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I would say: what you have is better, great video realestate and perfect for atleast another year! As you I am waiting till the better 4K tv's are cheaper (and a next generation gfxcard will help to make it a success). Please don't let you lure into low priced great stories about the 4K tv's of today. For PC monitor use, you want: fast response time, low input lag, 60Hz and 4:4:4 chroma subsampling. Maybe something in the direction of a Samsung JU7500 but then for a more interesting price then asked today. -
Removing 1.2 and running 1.5ob??
piXel496 replied to CrackerJack's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
I uninstalled 1.2 because I only use 1.5beta and did not encounter any unexpected problems. If a next final version is released I 'll just download it fresh. The only reason to keep 1.2 is that the next 1.5 or 2.0 installer could use some files on your HD so it does not need to download it again. Since 1.5 or 2.0 is somekind of a "milestone" release I prefer to redownload the new version as a whole. And activation is linked to your DCS customer username and some hardware identifiers of your PC. So in principle when reinstalling the DCS program, your modules activation should not change. . -
Most important is which aircraft you find interesting. That makes your time in a particular cockpit happy spend. The depth of PFM airplanes in DCS should not be interpreted as complex. Personally I find the A10-C a remarkable simulation creation since lockon and the benchmark for any airframe that followed in DCS. True you have to learn a few switches to take off and then some to use the rest of it's capabilities. But that in itself is a joy in every stage of the DCS experience. The next "landmark" release everyone is waiting for is the F18-C with carrier bells and wistles. This might take a year or two? Today there are some truly great airplanes and helicopters, you just have to start with one. .

Compliments for a great initiative! If ever PFM I hope the L-39 or the P-51. +1

Sorry for being irritating determined to try to solve your bug, but I have the best intentions. Deleting the .zip and a repair might not fix your issue because the file that reads the images from the .zip is not in the .zip file itself (I do not know where it is). Thats why uninstalling the module and reinstalling is better. If that is what you did and still have the same issue, just for debugging. You could make a copy of file UH1_glass_refl.tga on your desktop and name it UH1_glass_refl.tga.dds (thats the old name) and throw it in UH-1H-CPT-TEXTURES.zip. Although I know the extension .dds is not necessarily read by files used in DCS. I tried and it still worked on my side, I deleted the .tga and only had the .tga.dds. :dontgetit:
-
The default "missing texture" apparently does not apply to the windowglass. I tried to replicate your issue by deleting UH1_glass_refl.tga from my UH-1H-CPT-TEXTURES.zip and this happend: And that is exactly like your issue. But if you removed your possibly damaged UH-files and have a vanilla UH-module install, and still have this issue then it is beyond a default solution. Sorry for not being able to help. Cheers .
-
Hi thamuff, Your particular issue is related to image UH1_glass_refl.tga this used to be UH1_glass_refl.tga.dds. My wild guess is that the .tga is not found. A quick solution is go to your modules and deinstall the UH. Then start DCS again go to modules and install the UH. Then I hope the gfx of your UH-module are reorganized in a format 1.5.1 can read. .
-
Compliments for the return of green glass and the adjusted transparency in the windows, since 1.5.1! I see image UH1_glass_refl.tga is new and has a lot of sharpness, unfortunately it does not give cockpit reflections in the windows for the first person positions. Is that something on my side, or are the rgb channels not read? Thanks.

How to only use the center smoke pod in the L-39
piXel496 replied to piXel496's topic in DCS: L-39 Albatros
It is not a joke. As mentioned before, it works if you use Emergency jettison (switch with red safety cover) and jazz with the switches in MP. I have not tried in SP. And the center smoke comes from the exhaust outlet , there is no pod in external view as GeorgeLKMT said. (illustration and nice to watch.) .
