  1. Thank you for the kind words. But it is not your or my intelligence that is the limiting factor. It is the intelligence of the .lua script engine we need to make missions work properly. I hope ED soon needs the working script engine themselves and the current limitations force them in giving it the urgent attention it deserves. Until then the scripting hoi polloi have to wait. .
  2. What are the benefits or limitations of a Dynamic campaign (for DCS)? The current campaigns are a set of mission scenarios given several static situations with set goals to finish a mission succesful. Which has it advantages if you want to jump in or focus on specific tasks or specific scenarios. A dynamic campaign is a developing structure that is dependent on the actions taken by players. Simply said a complex single mission that can evolve with an unknown outcome. (could be made by the community) A constructive question is, what makes a good dynamic campaign? For me it is: - it should be muliplayer - player actions must count for something, emersion - replayability - regular virtual news (in game) about the developing situation - many roles to select from as a player - player development (ranking) - 24/7 scenario evolution Limitations. - consistent working script engine. (I have my hopes on this year) - saving a situation when the scenario stops so it continues where it left. (export and log files of DCS are complete enough, database on the backend would be better then a text file but some people already do smart things. So this is not impossible) - intelligent use of computational resources. Rendering all assets of a complete scenario of a campaign is impossible. Spawning and despawning could be a solution when a location is visited or left by a player, not something DCS likes to do without hickups. - general complexity.(It is a lot of intelligent work to make a durable interesting scenario) I like scripting maybe more then only flying. It's the creation of a vivid puzzle that works I enjoy. I like bugs and smart workarounds. But some limitations are not working in favor of a dynamic campaign. And the development of DCS is heading in so many directions that it seems dynamic by itself. Still I think that a dynamic campaign could be something of the future after all the new stuff we will get/got settles into stability. When is a dynamic campaign enjoyable for you? .
  3. Internal cockpit reflections (though static) always existed in in DCS for some reason they are not working anymore since 1.5. The new engine only reads the alpha channel from "window_glass_refl.dds" files and without reading the RGB channels there are no reflections anymore. :cry_2:
  4. If I understand you well. That already does exist in the mission editor. :) with "view unit list": .
  5. I have no doubt more people will host fun or interesting MP maps with those fantastic graphics if the scripting environment becomes reliable again. until then
  6. This happened before because an installed imageviewer in windows took exclusive rights for reading some fileextensions or alike, see this thread. I hope you have something comparable and can fix it. :balloon:
  7. :) thanks Updated 01-01-2016 - Mipmapped gfx for dcs 2.0 and tailrotor changed in closer resemblance to the real N91JK .
  8. Was searching for the exact same. :) That is a great little happy document for "hacking" the API, nice! Is there also an updated DCS release related version document of usable functions for all who are interested in making missions beyond the ME? Hilarious Noel to all .
  9. That sounds terrible.. I hope you can "hard" reset your bios. If the the motherboard is in your sig: ASUS P8H67-M Pro reset bios [edit] I think you already did after reading your post again.. .
  10. Does anyone know how to access the objects of the Nevada map? So we can custom place houses, trees etc. on the map, like we could on the caucasus map with the related .edm files. Thanks, .
  11. On my calendar it is 8 days ago. If the particular subject is "bumped" with a commercial clip of a selling-site after a week and in the post before that its filled with empty superlatives like: Seamless one-click, Frictionless onboarding, Visually browse with pleasure. And there is an obvious personal gain for the poster in doing so. I would say forum rule 1.9 starts to apply. If not, I am still not interested. :)
  12. No. and Forum rules: 1.9 Advertisement of any products or services without prior consent from the forum staff is strictly prohibited. .:vertag:
  13. I admire your focussed dedication. Your (community) efforts make DCS more then a game with nice objects. I advise ED to take you extremely serious. You are a blessing and a valuable asset. :v:
  14. Add a few airports to the NTTR map I explored the current NTTR map and I really like what I see. The only thing is the active size of possible operations. With some minor set dressing in the outskirts of the map and a few extra airfields the NTTR map would be complete. Currently the map is a bit small especially since supersonic aircrafts are at the DCS development horizon. Is adding some objects to the Nevada map in the planning? Some airfield suggestions: - Tonopah - Laughlin - Mesquite (something is already prepared there) - Bolder city If someone has an idea please elaborate. :)
  15. To have a quick result I tweaked details to my liking: But who knows what the ZA will bring for extra's. I hope night vision? .
  16. Could be a minor bug. I fixed it with: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2595257&postcount=3 .
  17. The bug is if you set them to dim they are there, if set to bright they are barely or not visible. (Only tested it in combination with anti colission lights) .
  18. I had this too. When I switched nohud option in controls/special/L-39 all went back to normal.
  19. [fixed] Albums in forum profile returned. Thx, "mysterious forum admin"
  20. You have to buy the map. http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/terrains/ and you will not regret it.:)
  21. DCS does mimic reality and the DCS engine is in use as a training tool to accomplish better results in risky real life environments. We all use DCS as a recreational activity, that makes it a game for us. .
  22. That is pretty simple. Configure a key in the control menu for the L-39 called: "request aircraft control". :)
  23. The method Cibit described in post #2 works fine. However if you do have flames it seems to have no consequenses during flight, flames don't stop even when the engine is shut down and others in MP don't see them. So something is not in perfect codification with the flame visuals. .
  24. What changed is file "description.lua" for all aircafts with mirrors. Just in case you still don't have mirrors that file is probably the issue. Added in this file is something like: {"mi-8mt-mirror", 0 ,"mirrors",true};--mirrors texture replacement with runtime rendered one For the mi8 it is probably somewhere in: drive:\DCS World 2 OpenAlpha\Mods\aircraft\Uh-1H\Liveries\Cockpit_mi-8mt\default\ If this row is missing, mirrors will not work. Maybe someone with working mirrors can check and be exact with names, Since I don't own this module. All modules I have, have this this "mirrors texture replacement" row addedd in there "description.lua". "M" just switches mirrors on/off .
