  1. Good to know. Thanks! And that's a good thing it's protected that way. I was thinking about a reasonable duration like one hour or so. Not that kind of eagerness:  In any case, I'll have to stick around and support their effort as I have to work on my computer anyway. So I have no choice but to monitor the 1.5 OB release :D
  2. I assume we could create an autoupdater with a script. Run it, it checks if the updater is still running and if not, it starts the updater again after a duration. Example. But what's the fun in that? ED team does not autocode/autocompile/autodebug ;)
  3. To be clear, you still have to trigger the update by clicking on the "Update DCS World OpenBeta" shortcut or starting DCS World OpenBeta. It will not auto-update and download the 1.5 files if you don't do anything. So don't sleep and take a sip of that tasty coffee/tea/whatever keep you awake ;) And I hope Wags and the coders/testers @ ED are getting some rest by now.
  4. That's showing some serious support to ED and the community ;) Kudos MegOhm_SD!
  5. That MiG-29 cockpit looks fantastic! I feel very much like Tantalus right now. Thanks for sharing Wags
  6. If I recall correctly ED only release their own .torrent for the final version, not the OB. I assume someone would have to share a fresh torrent. Remeniscence: and 20 years later (only a few F5 away): :thumbup::thumbup::pilotfly:
  7. October here. This should be a good time to put that extension to good use ;) (for Chrome) Don't stress your fingers F5'ing, you'll need them to pilot tonight(ish).
  8. Congratulations to the team! They already have a pizza-converter if you wish to show your support ;)
  9. I also support this suggestion. I've been dreaming of this feature since Jane's F-15…
  10. Thanks Witchking ;) If it's that way too popular dust/dirt optical effect: I'm also glad it's an option.
  11. It's definitely a great time for DCS, Eagle Dynamics and all of us combat/flight sim enthusiasts! I hope EDGE will actively continue to improve over time with new rendering features and such. Thanks to Wags and ED, we've already been able to see many of its wonders. And while we're waiting, some fresh and lovely MiG-29 cockpit screenshots have been posted. That's one new module I'll gladly buy to support ED, even if I already own FC3 (assuming there will be a new standalone module). I have one question for the experts: - what is that lens effect feature? Is it a chromatic aberration effect or a lens flare effect? Something different? Also, thanks for: (I was craving for this) About that comment from the FAQ: I'd like to confirm that I'd just have no limitation as limitation for DCS if the engine could stream lovely hi-res textures (at the expense any TB it would require :music_whistling:) Tech note: no issue with my OB installation and the modules I own. I already installed the Su-27, the MiG-15bis and the Ka-50, all ready for a spin when 1:5 will be available. I just used my digitalcombatsimulator.com credentials in the module manager.
  12. Thanks for the update Sabre. Still eagerly waiting for the final product here ;) Best of luck with the creation process.
  13. I followed the installation instructions and everything is working flawlessly with my DCS Su-27 profile (including many specific key presses, not only bound buttons). Still beta. X-55 throttle connected on USB 2 PC port.
  14. Thanks for the update! X-55 drivers+software downloaded and installed. No more gigazillion keypresses in the test window.
  15. You're right, thanks ;) Even the translation from Russian to French is "close" (proche). (one of the best translation weapon is a Russian dictionary)
  16. As far as I understand the details, Svend_Dellepude is right. The Б.Бой-Д.Бой is used to switch between short-long range missiles (and similar weapons). From the Su-27SK flight manual, section 5.1.5: Since my knowledge of the Russian language is very limited, I won't try to provide a precise translation. Here's what our brutal friend Google has to say. Also: Б. Бой = Ближний маневренный бой Close range maneuver combat (Воздушный бой = dogfight) Д. Бой = Дальний ракетный бой Long range missile combat As usual, feel free to clarify or to correct any mistake.
  17. The mode you're looking for is described page 64 of the english manual. It's the Lead Computed Optical Sight (LCOS). The EOS is the common western acronym for the Electro Optical Sight/Sensor/System. Its russian counterpart is called the OLS (оптико-локационной станции) (same as EOS or IRST). The funnel mode is more like a backup/basic targeting system and is only employed from the rear hemisphere. From what I remember the GSh-301 cannon has an effective range of 200 to 800 m against aerial targets and 1.200 to 1.800 m against ground targets.
  18. Quick information from ED : The tank 5 has been added to the sequence and the tank 2 quantities have been split accordingly. These numbers aren't confirmed "final" as the coder is in vacation. ;) (please do not quote) And thanks to the team for the details!
  19. Are there any details about this?
  20. Saitek replied to my ticket, and with no surprise we'll have to wait for the W10 driver and software ;)
  21. The app has been recently updated! You can now add your own picture to each entry. For example, you can add a satellite view or any other diagram to the airports data (in addition to your notes) (the image is displayed in fullscreen mode when you tap the miniature/preview). The new sorting options for the favorites are also very welcome. And, there's a font size slider, but I'm not sure it's new. Another feature I like is the "over lock screen" display option. The app can stay on top of your lock screen. That way, your device is safe while using or sharing the app with anyone. Lovely app!
  22. I have the exact same problem while using my X-55 throttle. I've sent a ticket to Saitek's support but I'm curious why it's so messed up whereas W10 has been available for months. Many users report the same issues on several forums and YouTube. (I even tried different USB ports and I have a solid power supply installed) None of my sims are usable in that state :( Gear self-retracting on the runway, airbrake not responding, etc. I'll go check the suggested alternatives. Thanks Sokol
  23. Can you use the stopwatch or the flight clock? I've just checked here, and both functions seem unavailable. I know it was fine a few months ago. From what I know the stopwatch is useful for BVR F-Pole/A-Pole timing. I didn't use it much so I can't be more precise. Could anyone confirm the clock functions are currently unavailable on the Su-27?
  24. None of them are simulated in the current version. Nevertheless, the cockpit model has the animations ready for those systems, so let's hope for a bright future ;)
  25. The DCS World Encyclopedia from the Google Play store does almost exactly what is suggested in the OP. You can : - tap an airport on the map to bring the diagram and details - add personal notes to the airport/airbase description/details - zoom in/out - display the diagram in full screen - pin any airport/airbase to the main drop down list It's a very neat app you should check out. It's also regularly updated (it's been updated a few hours ago). I also encourage you to buy the cheap Premium version to support the developer. (iirc everything is included in the "free" version - unless it's the "favorites" or "notes" functionalities?)
